Bills' receiving corps getting bigger for playoff football
SCBills replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Outside of the Bills/Chiefs 13 seconds game, 2 of the last 3 Bills playoff exits were due, in large part, to them simply getting bullied off the field. It happened in KC 3 years ago, and again against CIN, at home, in our elements, of all things. Enter McDermott, Torrence, Kincaid, Shorter, Harris, Murray, Ford... Exit Frazier, Saffold, Edmunds, Singletary, McKenzie, Beasley... We'll see how it translates, but this team looks much different "getting off the bus". -
I think we're pretty well stocked beyond this year, in terms of multi-year contracts, at: EDGE - Von, Rousseau, Basham LB - Milano, Williams, Bernard, Spector (I do think Williams could become a good MLB here, eventually) CB - Tre, Elam, Benford, Johnson OT - Dawkins, Brown, Doyle IOL - Morse, McGovern, Torrence, Bates TE - Knox, Kincaid WR - Diggs, Harty, Shakir, Shorter RB - Cook QB - Allen DT and S jump off the page as positions that will need future investment after this year, with EDGE, OT, WR and RB looking like they will need some financial and/or draft resources as well. Morse and Tre are my wild cards after this year, depending on how they perform this year. At DT, I'd love to extend Jones and then get a look at Poona Ford to see if he's the second piece we extend. Phillips, Settle and Oliver after this year.. meh, we'll see.

Oh, so now appreciating Tucker being the one dissenting voice left in media is “cult”… You realized most of the libertarian/conservative/indies here aren’t big Trump fans, so now it’s the “Tucker cult” Unlike some of you, I’ve readily admitted I don’t agree with everything people I like say, just like I don’t agree with everything Russell Brand, Joe Rogan, Tim Dillon etc say.., but I can appreciate their unique stand, as incredibly influential figures, against the mainstream. These leaks, and this quote doesn’t make Tucker look bad .. it simply reinforces what a lot of people knew about him … he’s condescending and smug, but far more thoughtful than any of his peers in cable news. He says what others won’t … I guarantee you Joy Reid, Rachel Maddow, Joe Scarborough, Chris Hayes etc., feel the same way when they see the reverse … they just aren’t self reflective enough to put into words what Tucker said. Look at the disdain they treat J6 folks with.

To the “pay Ed Oliver” crowd .. Does it not concern you that we apparently need a 1-2 rotation of above average 1T’s next to Oliver to, hopefully, unlock his potential? If he goes off, great … that’s not someone you pay. That’s a luxury we won’t be able to afford.

“Aaron Rodgers go to every New York sporting event challenge”
-
Maybe. I just don’t like his fit on our defense. If we’re going with a fast, undersized, more attacking style defense (which it seems like we are) I’d much rather have monster DT’s up front.. not another undersized guy taking a ton of snaps.
-
Obviously I’m getting into Madden mode, but why not go big or go home at DT … allow our linebackers to fly around behind Jones, Poona, Phillips & Al Woods. Id make that trade in a second and swap out undersized Ed with another big DT. Now, why would Arizona want two guys on the last year of their rookie deal?… no clue.
-
Sal was just on and said he’s basically a 4-3 1 or 3 tech. Can occupy a block, but isn’t a 2 gap space eater. Is definitely more of a penetrating tackle. Seems like a guy that can rotate with and/or pair with Jones.
-
I’d entertain trading Oliver if it means being able to afford our choice of FA EDGE or a Hopkins trade, but other than that, I’ve come around to seeing what Oliver can do in a contract year now that we’ve got Jones & Ford for him to pair with. Im not even sure how we’re affording Poona Ford, but maybe he’s truly taking a one year prove it deal that doesn’t require all kinds of void year nonsense.
-
If we manage to sign a legit pass rusher, shut it down … I don’t want to hear about the loss of Edmunds… this becomes a proper, elite level defense.
-
It’s a valid question. Their DL was meh last year, but they just switched over to a 3-4 last year … a DL full of 4-3 guys definitely didn’t excel in the new scheme. In their previous 4-3, Poona was a beast.
-
WGR truly has the pulse of the fanbase. Poona Ford trending on Twitter. Bills fans dancing in the streets. Let’s do some AFC Power Rankings.
-
3-4 scheme, and Poona Ford has excelled in a 4-3. Also, I have yet to see a Seahawks fan that isn’t upset he’s gone.
-
Speedy athletic attacking linebackers make A LOT of sense behind a DT room consisting of Daquan Jones and Poona Ford. What a homerun of a signing!! Let's gooo!!

Bills sign Latavius Murray to a one-year deal
SCBills replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea, sounds like he has a role. Wonder if we keep 4 RB's with Cook/Harris as 1-2, Murray as short yardage and Hines as KR/PR/Gadget. -
This Bills over/under seems like stealing money
SCBills replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just looked at the opponents for Bills, Chiefs and Bengals. Bengals schedule is noticeably weaker than the Bills and Chiefs. -
Do you guys feel right about FA/Draft and the "Process" ?
SCBills replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall
We’re a top 3 caliber team: Chiefs Bills Bengals Eagles I want to say 49ers but can’t get over the QB hurdle with them. We need to figure out how to match up/scheme better against the Bengals, but I do believe we match up well with KC, and while we were physically & mentally beat up end of last season… I believe we enter this year improved at OL, RB, WR, TE & S. With expected improvement from Tre White, Kaiir Elam, Spencer Brown and James Cook. Along with Year 2 of Kromer/Dorsey, McDermott taking over the Defense, a healthy Josh Allen and the additions of Von Miller and Micah Hyde off injury. There a good bit of “hope” in there towards the end of my outlook.. and while hope isn’t a strategy, I don’t think anything I listed is unreasonable to think will be improved upon. Every team has some questions marks, ours are: RT WR2 MLB OC DL (until Von comes back) RT likely has to be solved by improvement from Brown WR2 could be Davis making a jump and/or Kincaid becoming that piece, allowing Davis to be more of a Weapon3 piece in the Offense. MLB.. no clue what we’re doing here. Hopefully it works out. OC, another “have to hope” situation where Dorsey improves with a year under his belt. DL, I think gets solved in FA. If Von is going to miss time, and maybe even if he doesn’t, we’ve had a good bit of smoke with FA DE’s & DT’s as well. Also, I’m not worried about Von.. it wasn’t a catastrophic tear and he is a physical freak. Just give us 80-90% of what he was pre-injury for this year and next, along with his penchant to step up in big moments, and that’s still the guy we paid for. This is a really talented team, with a lot of depth and reasonable hope that the weaknesses get ironed out before Game 1. -
Interesting to hear Beane say Dorian Williams size/skill-set absolutely lends itself to the MLB position in our Defense, but what is holding him back from potentially being a strong candidate to win the it out the gate is to not put too much on his plate. I mean.. if we drafted Campbell or Sanders, would he be saying the same thing?
-
Yup … at the end of the day, we didn’t get the 1 seed. Some posters want to pretend like that doesn’t matter … except KC keeps finding ways to get that 1 seed, or at the very least, put themselves in position to be the pseudo-one seed. Mahomes has literally never played an away playoff game and KC has had multiple BYE weeks over the course of Mahomes tenure. Not coincidentally, they’ve won the last two AFC Super Bowls.

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
SCBills replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
If he’s not coming here, by all means re-up in Arizona. As long as he doesn’t end up in KC, I’ll take it. -
I’ll tell you this … even with how mentally and physically beat up we were last year … give us KC’s road to the Super Bowl, which for us would be been BYE, JAX (home), KC (home) and I’m not so sure we don’t make the Super Bowl…. Hyde was set to come back for the AFC CG and that BYE week would’ve been monumental for that team.
-
I think the fairest assessment, when everyone is healthy, is as follows: BUF, KC & CIN are all on the same level. They are the top contenders in the AFC. KC gets the benefit of the doubt over BUF and CIN because they keep finding ways to stay healthy, represent the AFC and win Super Bowls. CIN is a bad matchup, until proven otherwise, for BUF. BUF matches up better with KC.

I could see a world in which Kincaid just crushes it, but at the end of the day, he's a rookie... and a rookie TE at that (although yes, maybe more of a slot). I think the safe bet is Kincaid opens things up more for Davis, and in a contract year, we see if he's worth giving an extension to.
-
It should have been 7-7 with CIN driving, but Allen missed a bunny timing throw to Beasley that was a walk-in TD. Instead it was 7-3 and everyone now thinks we just get boat raced in that game, like we didn't also drive through CIN with ease.
