Between the Week 2 Prime announcement and MVS signing, the Bills are trending #1 on X right now. As someone who was too young for the Super Bowl years, I still will never get over how Josh Allen & the national rise of Bills Mafia have made this small market team such a big name in the NFL.

Is it time to grow concerned about Greg Rousseau?
SCBills replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Currently, I see Rousseau as a Tremaine Edmunds type player.. but at a premium position. Which means he's good enough to get paid and I don't necessarily love that team paying him being us. I need to see more pass rush ability from him before I sign him long term to a massive contract. -
$23 million in CAP in 2025 if no more moves as of 5/14
SCBills replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
The only team we should be concerned about that has a non-rookie contract QB, but is in dramatically better shape (currently) than us is Kansas City. They've simple nailed the big moves and draft these past few years. Trading Tyreek Hill, while still having Travis Kelce, put them in a position that we couldn't keep up with given the moves we've made. Everyone else has the same issues we have.. and many won't be in as good of a position as us next year when we finally get out of our current cap situation. CIN has a liquidity issue in ownership and a ton of high priced players coming up due for new contracts. BAL has gone through a similar roster overhaul as us this year, probably bigger than us, but nobody talks about it because it was 3 OL and some mercenary guys they brought in last year .. oh, and they signed a shiny object in Henry. NYJ are built around a QB who has 1-2 more years left in him. MIA is built around Tua, who is going to get paid and Tyreek, who also has 1-2 more elite seasons left in him. The other teams have rookie QB contracts. Teams like HOU and JAX can spend like we can't... until they also have to pay their QB. It is what it is. -
Marquez Valdes-Scantling meeting with the Bills (UPDATE: Signed)
SCBills replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
We have a lot of reason for hope, but as I said in another thread.. hope isn't a strategy. We also have a lot of "what ifs".. Our WR room has a pretty high ceiling IF Coleman is the real deal, IF Shakir continues to ascend, IF Samuel just needed a good QB, IF Kincaid makes the Year 2 leap to top tier TE, IF Cook stops dropping big passes... and so on... I like our OL and think we're strong at RB/TE around Josh. The Offense really hinges on making this WR room work for what Brady/Allen envision. On Defense.. very similar what ifs, but on the DL... I think we're much better at DT with Oliver/Jones backed up by Johnson & Carter, but DE is highly volatile with say.. Rousseau, Epenesa, Von, Smoot & Solomon. If they all hit, our Defense is looking great, but that's a lot of hope to put Von/Smoot a full year removed from major injury and a rookie pass rusher. -

MVS in Buffalo is likely behind: Kincaid Samuel Shakir Coleman Cook So, if you're including other positions for KC, he's probably Option #6 in our Offense, competing with Knox and Davis for targets. The only way he moves up this list is if other guys falter or he steps up. But entering the Summer, this is where he stands. -
I feel like I'm the only one who hates "easy" games for Week 1. With how random Week 1 can be, and with us (on paper) only having a few "lay up" games.. I'd rather not have one of them, at home, on Week 1. If we do.. better make it count.

At night, so I like it. The heat doesn't bother these guys, it's the sun beating down plus the heat. Could be a night time low of high 70's, low 80's.. completely fine.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling meeting with the Bills (UPDATE: Signed)
SCBills replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
It comes down to Josh Allen. Josh Allen is Patrick Mahomes equal in the postseason. The only difference is the Chiefs around him step up in those moments, whereas the Bills around JA do not. Where they are not equal is the regular season. Mahomes, last season was a bit off, but is typically very steady. High levels of play with a high floor. Josh Allen has high levels of play, but will have games where he is literally the reason we lost. That can't happen this year. Tough schedule and we need Josh Allen elevating that regular season floor. -

Here's the thing though.. Diggs under Brady wasn't Diggs. I don't know who that dude was, but it wasn't anything remotely resembling a WR1. Gabe Davis became even more of a head scratcher as the season went on. Any chemistry he had with Josh had completely disappeared. On paper, is our WR room better? No rational fan will say yes.. but it is deeper.. and it is younger.. and it does have more specific skillsets. Can we hope Coleman-Shakir-Samuel-MVS-Hollins can give us a Green Bay WR room base level? I don't think that's at all out of the question. -

Does John Parry not move the needle for you? lol This is well said though.. However, until someone dethrones the Chiefs, I think it's always going to kind of feel that way. I'm sure the Bengals and Ravens fans feel the same. I'm sure Jets and Dolphins fans feel the same about us. -

I have to agree with those pointing out the difference between OBJ in Miami and OBJ in Buffalo. Even if the money was the same, he already knows the sales pitch: Come to Buffalo, play with your boy Von. JA as your QB. But it's Buffalo weather and half your game checks will be taxed to death so the money wouldn't even be the same .. and you're WR4 on the depth chart. They're not stunting Shakir & Coleman's growth unless they fall on their face and Brady wanted Curtis Samuel. We also have a Dalton Kincaid on our roster to eat up targets. Or.. go to Miami. It's Miami weather and Florida taxes... Tua is good, not great, but you'll put up numbers, be in contention all year and play WR3 on a team that has a WR1 & WR2 that terrify other defenses. Aside from going in on a WR1 via trade, an MVS signing is basically the most sensible move we can make right now. -

This is the vision I see as well. Kincaid as the 1. Cook & Davis used more in the passing game under Brady. Coleman, Shakir, Samuel & MVS all WR2/WR3's around Kincaid. Knox playing the traditional TE role. -

SCBills replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Makes me wonder what that 6/1 money may be earmarked for... I actually do like the MVS signing, but it probably takes a big WR move off the table for this year. Re-visit Justin Simmons.. Wait and see how Von looks this Summer and maybe go after Clowney? I doubt we're rolling it over to next year. We're fine cap-wise after this season and have heavy draft capital to improve the team next year as well. -

I don't expect him to be anything more than a poor man's Gabe Davis in our Offense.. but it's still something we need to be able to threaten defenses with. -

SCBills replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Glad we did this. MVS was clutch in the Playoffs last year, which is not much that we can say consistently for anyone we've put around Josh. Gives us a true speed/vertical threat, which is a WR element we desperately needed. That WR6 battle is going to be an absolute crucible. Coleman, Shakir, Samuel and MVS all look like locks. MVS signing a 1.125M guaranteed deal, incentives up to 4.5M. Hollins, the way they talk about him, seems like a lock. That's five .. and honestly, with Kincaid, Knox, Cook, Davis... could work. I don't necessarily hate our WR room. Would've loved a high level proven WR, but it seems with this signing that the $$$ we open 6/1 may be earmarked elsewhere. -

MVS outplayed Diggs in our Divisional Game, so that’s how I’m going to choose to think of him if we sign him. -

It’s easy to clown this, but I’d be very high on this signing. Big body, contested catch WR in Keon Coleman. Two quick separation guys in Shakir and Samuel. A speed/field stretcher in MVS. Big body blocking WR in Mack Hollins. Then open competition for WR6. That WR room at least makes sense, regardless of how one feels about the proven talent. -
I can’t even really comment on this because it’s obviously all such a disgrace. Utter mockery of our justice system. All hinging on a deeply partisan judge and heavy politically left lean jury. Anyone trying to continue to hype this have got to feel dirty about doing so .. even some honest Dems have started clearing their conscience and questioning all of this. I’d suggest more do the same.

I wonder how many people in this country have no real opinion on Israel vs Palestine, but have seen who is in opposition of Israel (their symbol for “oppression”) and concluded that’s not the side they can support.. I’m willing to bet it’s decently high. Most people in this country aren’t highly educated on these issues, but if you’re a random electrician etc., who sees more than five seconds of these communist children, I’m willing to bet you automatically oppose whatever they advocate for.

The variance in how good our DE room can be is wild. -Rousseau contract year -Epenesa continued improvement? -What is Von Miller? -Duwane Smoot injury recovery? -Can Solomon’s rush carry to the NFL? Its realistic to think all of these can work out favorably for us, but hope isn’t a strategy and the flip side of the coin is we only have two starter level Defensive Ends for certain.

Fair .. but we’re not likely to have an easy go of it early in the season, or at all this season. Brutal schedule. Im ok if they’re confident in this group and we head into the season as is, but they better be confident.. Im fine going young, but I’m not fine stumbling hard out the gate and potentially wasting a prime year of Josh Allen. We have money next year and a bunch of draft picks next year to add cheap talent. If a guy becomes available this year, we have levers available to get absorb their contract and then extend/rework their deal to provide cap space for this upcoming season. Im fine either way, but they better have given Josh Allen enough to compete this season.

The democrat party: Abortions and pot.

Abortion & Buying Votes is the name of the game. Economically illiterate doesn’t even begin to describe this. -
Rd 5, Pick 141: C Sedrick Van Pran-Granger
SCBills replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall
Teams likely have 8 OL active on Gameday, 9 total on active roster. I do think what you say is correct, but I have to imagine Kromer is going to want VPG to have some baseline familiarity with Guard if everything goes haywire ala the early season Miami game a few years ago. Most teams don’t have backups active that can only really play one position at a strong level … we’d now have two with LT Van Demark and C Van Pran Granger. That likely would leave Collins as the guy for backup RT and both G spots without a shuffle. Not the end of the world given McGoverns flex, but also not what most teams do, having 2/3 backups being one position backups. They’ll likely play Van Demark at RT and VPG at OG a good bit this summer to try and develop their flex. Let’s just hope VPG wins the C spot because that would be incredibly ideal. -
Dang.. I know there were a handful of podcasters/fans that were thinking he could’ve been our pick here.
