  1. If I understand our Cap position he really has no choice. He pretty much has to unload any and all redundancy (depth) that he’s got. And if he can get a draft pick in return, then that’s better than just releasing guys for nothing.
  2. So looking at your updated list, what’s the next move? Seems like Beane is in the trimming the roster redundancy mode. But if I’m reading everyone’s posts on the Cap correctly there’s got to be more serious cuts than Hines and Bates.
  3. Okay? In over three decades as a business owner I never once told an employee that they couldn’t use a single day of accrued vacation, sick, or emergency time. Not once.
  4. Thanks Gunner So based on your reshuffling and so much other chatter, are the Bills taking a WR in the 1st? Seems like you believe that the value is suspect, and the smarter move is to take a DL and then slide back up in the 2nd for a WR.
  5. I’m visual learner as well. I can’t see the point in the countless round and round without a contextual list to base the discussion around. I’m guessing that Beane is more in our camp. He can’t possibly be making these decisions on a case by case basis.
  6. I asked this in the Hines thread but I like the organization of your list way better. Do you believe we’re going to see the rest of Group 4 join Hines fate later this week? Hamlin, White, Neal, Gilliam, and Harty? For example, I read that Hamlin is already at close to league minimum.
  7. You guys spend way more time on this cap stuff than I do so I’m interested in what anyone guesses the next two or three moves will be. Put another way, if Mc Govern and Hines were the lowest hanging fruit; whose on the next branch up? Who else gets whacked (not just restructured)?
  8. As other have hinted at there’s simply no way we can afford BOTH Zach Ertz and Mike Evans. So what’s the point?
  9. And don’t forget he still has to complete the Zach Ertz deal. There’s only so much time in the day!
  10. Thanks for putting this together. I know it gets really hard to put players into hard and fast groups but I think the duo of Morse/Bates should be listed in Group 1. One or the other, or both, will be on the roster.
  11. Every time I hear of a high ceiling low floor DE with little experience from Penn State it gives me Aaron Maybin flashbacks. And that ain’t a good thing. 😉
  12. People can criticize Beane but at least there’s some logic to do what he did. After making it to the AFC Championship game the organization thought they were on the fast track to the Super Bowl. So with a young, franchise QB, he went “all in” and thus somewhat gambled away a few future years. So far, it’s been a gamble that he lost.
  13. I’m assuming this poll isn’t saying that losing the Super Bowl would mark the best the Bills would ever do under McD so I voted that ‘yes’ as it would at least show he’d finally gotten them out of playoff neutral gear. Make it to the Super Bowl and then keep progressing from there.
  14. Must be a decent length line of players and their agents queued up in the corridor outside of Beane’s office.
  15. McD like all employees has one goal…staying employed. The status of his position is up to Pegula. And from what I’ve seen between the Bills and Sabres I’m guessing Terry doesn’t want to rock the Bills boat right now.
  16. Okay that’s it! Nobody gets to defend Rex Ryan! That’s a bridge too far. 😂
  17. Correct! I know he’s offering his spin. I find it amusing what he chose to spin about. You on the other hand jump to his defense every single time.
  18. How is this thread limited to what he said to the media when he specifically commented about his play calling? I expect spin from EVERY coach. Even from the last place team. Based on your take we cannot comment on the coach because what he says in an interview is strictly off limits.
  19. In a word….YIKES! The ‘problem’ is in the eye of the beholder Shaw. If fans want to get to and/or win a Super Bowl then there’s most definitely a problem from their perspective. Am I having more fun winning more than losing? Sure! The problem is I’ve grown weary of the same level of achievements. While I’m willing to gamble on the HC change before we reach the expiration date on our Franchise QB, you (and others) clearly aren’t.
  20. Let’s see if I understand it: The Team enters into a 4 year, $40 million contract with a player, but they agree to pay him only $5 million for each of the first two seasons instead of the $10 million it averages out to. If the two sides agree to either part ways or the player is cut, the Team still owes him the remaining $5m for each of those first two years, and therefore that remaining $10m would count against the next year's cap even though he’s no longer on the Team.
  21. Bingo! I had a Business Partner who’d consistently return from new project interviews and report that he came in second…again. He was very well intentioned in his efforts but consistently one step behind the competition. His preparation was excellent but when it came to being in the moment he simply had a problem ‘closing the deal’.
