  1. I’m not stalking you. I comment regularly on this board about all sorts of topics. And if I can block you, then you can also block yourself. How about you just try for a second to stop the juvenile name calling? I’m sure even you can do it. 👍
  2. Thanks…. I will definitely make it a point to. So does that mean you’ll take a break from turning every discussion into your personal toilet? Can you give it for Lent?
  3. You know it’s funny but I used to listen to Dr Laura on the radio and time and time again she would ask people who’d call to complain about their spouse ‘are they different now than when you married them’? They’d ALWAYS answer no. So she’d ask why are you desperate to transform them now?! She always made a ton of sense.
  4. Never crossed my mind. Have you thought about posting on this board with something more worthy of an adult? This is NOT your personal port-a-potty wall.
  5. There’s an awful of name calling on here lately. Can you’all have a conversation and just say you simply disagree with the other person’s opinion?
  6. Fire them both…immediately!
  7. My answer remains the same …..no!
  8. We’ve definitely found some common ground. I’m no expert on the Florida law but I’m pretty darn sure it’s not the boogie man that it’s being made out to be. Teachers (of which I’m sure you’re a good one) need to stick to the curriculum. They have no expertise whatsoever in these matters…even if they have the best of intentions at heart. Period.
  9. I agree with you the words thing but in an open hearing I’ll cut anyone some slack. It’s a lot of pressure. The right to bear arms is of course not a natural right. It’s a right created by the Founders to protect the people from those who seek to overturn the natural rights (life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness). Those same natural rights are at the center of the abortion debate. Nobody has the right to overturn the natural right to life. Nobody!
  10. I’m not sure that’s what she’s saying…although I have to admit I’m only going off of the quote that was posted. She’s absolutely correct that it will be up to the Court to interpret nuances of those constitutional rights when brought before them. It’s certainly not up to Congress or the President.
  11. Then we agree. He’s free to be a free press and expressing his opinion doesn’t make him either a traitor or a Russian agent. Excellent John!
  12. You’re not getting the point of my comment or the law. There’s a protocol to followed here and should be followed no matter how much you think you know about the parents. Now…I’m not saying the parents should not be in the loop…but the classroom teacher is not the first line of communication nor should the classroom teacher be espousing his or her opinion on this or a whole host of topics to their students. It’s not the LEAST bit complicated.
  13. Not really. It’s not up to the Court to uphold laws and rights. It’s up to the Court to interpret them…which is important when society is always changing. It could be said that the Executive Branch upholds/enforces them.
  14. You’re kidding me right? I dare you to go out on the street right now and see if you can find one person that’s ever heard of let alone seen a picture of Aleppo. And that dare doesn’t count your military ammunitions clique. 😉
  15. No argument on either of those guys in their limited roles but I find it hard to believe they can’t find a true STARTER at a position of need. I’m beginning to think McD doesn’t want them to start. Almost like a college coach would want freshmen to sit and learn for a season.
  16. I’m sure you know that it was way more complicated than that…but we definitely agree that the US Military has had a poor track record of finishing what they were asked to start. And I’m not saying that it’s 100% their fault. I’ll disagree Alf. I dare you to show a post war picture of Aleppo to ANYONE and ask them to tell you what it’s a picture of. I’ve tried that experiment and not a single person could tell me. The same is definitely not the case with Ukraine.
  17. All I know is that the Bills better get more production out of their first two selections than they have the last couple of years. This is a solid playoff team now. They need to fill a hole or two, with a major contribution from a top rookie. So…take the punter in Round One! (Kidding on that last part)
  18. I’m going disagree with you here. The right to bear arms is NOT a natural right. It’s a man made right intended as a deterrent to others who’d seek to take away those natural rights. Based solely on your quote of her response I see no problem with what she said.
  19. Was the idea of the war the problem or the eventual execution of it? I personally believe it was the latter.
  20. I appreciate the difficult spot that puts you in. I really do. But…it’s not your job as a teacher to get involved in any of this. Just report your concerns to an administrator and get back to teaching.
  21. The teacher is required to inform an administrator. They have programs in place for these sort of circumstances. It’s not anywhere near as rare as you might think. If you could spend one day job shadowing my wife at work you’d be utterly shocked.
  22. Please re-read my post. Not every parent is you and me. There are ALL SORTS of circumstances when parents are actually the cause of the problem (cutting, abuse, molestation, malnutrition, drugs, etc) and sometimes those parents can and do endanger their own children. My point all along is that these complex family issues need to be handled by TRAINED professionals. Teachers have ZERO training in these matters and honestly, they shouldn’t want to be trained. There are professionals who know what they’re doing in these matters.
  23. Hey! I ordered my list of things I “hate about America” hours and hours ago. The service around here sucks.
