Josh Allen Buffalo Wild Wings commercial

It's also not good to ballance out your Cheeseburger addiction with a cocaine addiction 😉 -
If both our games against the Pats weren't so late in the season, I'd say they should pull a Lawyer Milloy & sign him just for a bit of inside info

Dammit... Was really looking forward to Cam running the Pats into the ground some more :(

I know TE isn't great, but our passing game is good enough to make it not as big an issue. The DT's on the other hand... that's the biggest weakness because it causes a glaring issue that's extremely detrimental to the entirety of the defense. Teams like the Chiefs and Titans didn't even need to pass. Every run was for huge gains, and kept our offense off the field. You can hide the bad TEs when your passing attack is still so good, but those DT's being unable to stop the run drags the whole defense down.

Josh Allen Buffalo Wild Wings commercial

After 6-8 double cheeseburgers a week, I'm sure it's in a shape of some kind... Perhaps a 🍐 shape, but still a shape. -
Just hoping they hang onto Jack Anderson. After some development time, he could be great. Then again, I'm definitely biased since he came from Texas Tech 😅

The signs of even better things to come from Josh Allen
BigDingus replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's still just refreshing to know 3rd & long doesn't equal an automatic punt like it did with Tyrod. Those plays where you're just resigned to giving up & doing a quick check down not even trying to get any yardage or convert just sucked. Now if only 3rd & long when we're on defense didn't feel like such a cursed down, I'd be happy. I swear, I feel more confident we'll stop the opposing offense on 3rd & 4 than I do 3rd & 14. -
The only QBs above him are Tom Brady & Patrick Mahomes (edit: oops, and Rodgers). That's incredible imo! C'mon, we're Bills fans... Having a Bills QB ranked the 10th best player in the NFL by his peers? I can't complain one bit, as it was insane to even imagine something so crazy just a few years ago. When the only 3 guys at the position above him are the "magician" (as Bucs players kept calling him), the MVP & the GOAT, I'm perfectly fine knowing 28 other starting QB's are looking up at him from below And hey, just gives him one more goal in the end. Keep growing & improving, and he'll claw his way up even more. Congrats to him! He's still Brady & still won yet another Super Bowl. It's voted on by other players in the league, and Brady has been consistent for 2 decades now. Allen had one breakout year & still shot up to #10. It makes sense to me, but then again, the entire list is mainly just what other players think & doesn't mean anything on the field.

Comparison to 90s SB teams
BigDingus replied to BoccesOnTransit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just a guess, but I think that was pretty normal back then. Kickers weren't really hitting 50+ yards frequently, nor were they expected to. I remember when Christie hit a 53 yarder in the SB & it was a record. Norwood's kick was only 4 yards less, so I think it's fair to assume it wasn't common at that time. -
Call your shot … who will get the #1 seed in the AFC?
BigDingus replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's going to depend on injuries & availability more than ever. I still think the Chiefs will get there, as they've also gotten quite a bit better, especially on defense, but I think the Bills will make it an interesting race. -
McKenzie found the common sense [Edit: got vaxxed]
BigDingus replied to aristocrat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess $16k is a lot more to McKenzie than it is Beasley. Guess we'll just have to wait until he's fined a proportional amount of his salary 😆 But hey, good job McKenzie. I don't care the reasoning, I'm just glad you did it. -
Bills and Steelers to get #2 CBS announcing team
BigDingus replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would love to have Romo on more Bills games, but that crew is pretty good too Romo is excellent. I don't mind Nance, but he's not great either. -
1st in the division, 12-5 record. Patriots will finish 2nd, Miami 3rd & Jets 4th.

Wait, so how do they operate & do business? Do they do it out of a food truck or their house or something? All this talk has made me want to try them on my next trip to Buffalo, but if they don't have an actual location I need to know how to find them!
-
Exactly. Not to mention our franchise QB who we're hoping to have around for 10+ years has stated how he loves playing indoors & how great his feel/control throwing the ball is in indoor venues. So having our QB play in the best possible environment for 50%+ of games each season would be a huge advantage for us. And I know some outdoors stadiums like Arrowhead & Seattle are super loud, having a fanbase like ours + a dome would likely be even louder. My most recent experience in a dome was the Texans vs Bills in Allen's rookie season, and even though it was 1/3 empty, it was much louder than the last 2 times I was in Buffalo. Made me imagine how crazy it would sound if it was packed with a more diehard fanbase like the Bills have.

Josh Allen won't play vs the Bears
BigDingus replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm honestly less worried about a QB being injured in preseason (especially a giant like Josh) than I am a WR, RB, or linemen. As long as Josh remembers it's preseason & doesn't try to hurdle or bulldoze anyone, I wouldn't freak out seeing him for a couple drives. I really don't want to see Diggs out there though. Already worried about him making it through 17 games, especially after staying healthy through all 16 + postseason last year. -
We need to cut 5 players. Who are they?
BigDingus replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bummer, that's unfortunate. Hope we keep him around though, as he was pretty solid at TT. Also, we've seen competent late round/undrafted linemen be developed into great players before, so hoping he can find a spot. Thanks for the response though. -

I'm at work still and haven't been able to watch the game, but does anyone know how Jack Anderson did? I know he's not going to get the most attention from anyone, but as a Texas Tech guy myself, really been pulling for him. -
True, but I think he was referencing how in all 3 games he didn't look like he did in the regular season leading up to it. There were many opportunities, but the offense as a whole (not just JA) never really clicked, and that sack risked knocking us out of the playoffs entirely... Throwing a pick or taking a sack suck, but doing it in a big game & doing it in a spectacularly bad way stand out more than a simple regular season INT. I'm not saying this to rag on Allen, if anything it just shows he's still young & despite how good he looked, he can still get even better. That's amazing. But the blatantly obvious things like that sack (or pitching the ball in the Houston playoff game after a long run) stand out more. I get it's not fun to reflect on those things, but they're not your regular run-in-the-mill mistakes. It'd be like if Mahomes tried no-look-passing into triple coverage & it lead to a pick-6. At that point, you can only blame yourself. Really not trying to pile on, I just understand the skepticism that wouldn't put him in the same class as Tom Brady. He's just not there yet, but it doesn't mean I wouldn't take him over Brady 7 days a week. He's going to get better, the game is slowing down for him, and each season he's relying less & less on his running abilities & more on his passing. That's a good sign.

Yeah, the context of his argument at the time wasn't wrong, but people probably disliked HOW he said it. I never understood why people got so bent out of shape when someone's opinion changes over time though. It happens to you, it happens to me, it happens to everyone on the planet. I understand it when people talk in absolutes, like "Allen will NEVER be good," or "there's ZERO chance the Bills EVER win a Super Bowl!" then sure, throw that in that person's face when they're wrong. But acting like Allen was guaranteed to turn out to great is flat wrong, and does a disservice to Allen. Even with what Cowherd said, he wasn't guaranteed anything... he had to really work at it. His continued dedication to improving, the hours he put in the film room, along with the support of the organization & coaches, all helped get him here. The time he put in during the last offseason especially, the dude EARNED it. He wasn't a sure-fire-hit, he wasn't tearing it up in college, he wasn't a day-1 savant... Which imo makes it even more impressive. There's very few instances (almost none that I can recall), of a QB drafted on potential, size, arm strength, etc. who weren't elite in college, weren't filling up stat sheets, and were so raw, being turned into top tier QB's once they began playing at the highest level in the NFL. And to have a team notorious for crappy QB play/development like the Bills develop the guy? THAT is amazing. How many teams in the future will go this route & completely bomb? Probably a ton. Hell, even Mahomes was seen as questionable. Many thought he was a system QB at Texas Tech, only with a great arm & athletic talent. Then in his first year as a starter, guy throws 50 TD's & is an MVP. QB's like Mahomes & Allen weren't Andrew Luck. Many people were going to be wrong in one way or another about them. After Allen's 2nd season, I still thought big games got into his head & lead to him making bizarre choices. His deep ball accuracy was among the worst in the league after 2 years, and not because people were dropping passes. He'd miss guys who had beaten their man & were wide open, or he'd rely on his mobility to keep a play alive & take huge, unnecessary sacks. Then the guy who couldn't beat you passing or throw for 300 yards shows up in year 3 & starts throwing for nearly 400, has nearly 70% accuracy & is nailing the deep ball to anyone he wants. You could literally see the fruits of his labor paying off before your eyes. And aside from the TN & KC games, he didn't disappoint in big games either. TL;DR - All I'm saying with this rant is Allen deserves the praise, the money and the attention because he worked his ass off & EARNED it!

Summer is here, but winter is coming...
BigDingus replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm on a crappy work PC right now, but if that's a real animal, that looks friggin MISERABLE. I don't care how much fur you have, that looks like the actual definition of hell to me 😂
