The Gabe Davis conversation (Allen with and without Gabe)
WhoTom replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Or you could let Gabe go and have a true TE do the blocking and occasional pass-catching. I'm not a Gabe hater - I was all about giving him the season and possibly seeing if he'd re-sign on a team-friendly deal, but he never made the jump I was hoping for. Unless he significantly and consistently contributes to the passing game throughout the playoffs, then I wouldn't even make him an offer. Let him test FA and whatever another team offers him, don't match it. -
Judging by the crowd, I'd guess a lot of them jumped off last week.

Potentially, yes. But the Bears have had good draft picks before and squandered them. The draft day trades were astute, but their drafting history is pretty inept.

I'll quote Coach McD's victory speech after a tight win last year: "You guys sure like to make it interesting." And Josh waving up the Bills fans after the game must have been totally demoralizing to the 'Phins. During the game, it sounded like about 50/50 on the crowd. But seeing how many remained to celebrate was mind-blowing. The Bills went into THEIR house, took the title, and celebrated in THEIR front yard. Damn, that was sweet.

What are YOU doing to get the Bills into the playoffs?
WhoTom replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall
All season, I've worn a bit of Bills gear every day, as long as they win. After a loss, I won't wear it for a few days, but I resume on Thursday in prep for the upcoming game. (The loss just before the bye was tough.) For the most part, it worked, as they almost never dropped two in a row. The only exception was the 12-man incident. -

No, but there was this guy named Closenough. -
People know of Albert Einstein the physicist, but not everyone knows that he was also a pretty good violinist. He frequently "jammed" with his friend, the great classical violinist Fritz Kreisler. During one of those sessions, Einstein kept losing the beat. Kreisler joked, "You know Albert, your problem is that you can't count."

I used to work with a guy named Bill Goodenough. He pronounced it "Good-e-now." When my wife worked in landscaping, she had a customer named Dick Goodenough. He pronounced it "Good enough." -
Agreed. Outward appearances and social media posts tend to be a person's highlight reel. They show us their TDs but don't mention the INTs.

True, but what's odd is that all the other planets are named for Roman gods, but Uranus comes from Greek mythology. The Roman equivalent is Caelus. -

For many years, the Bills played the 'Phins in Miami early in the season and then hosted them in the winter. I liked that arrangement until the Miami stadium sunshine advantage came into play. I like this even better - we avoid the heat and still get a "home game" against them in the winter. I wonder if the clear advantage they got in last year's early game affected the league's decision to flip-flop the home and away games.
