  1. I'm sorely disappointed that we're not in this game - the AFC was probably as easy as it's likely to be in the upcoming years. I think we had one injury too many for the KC game - otherwise, we'd be here. But I'm trying to appreciate how calm and stress-free I am right now, and the fact that in 6 hours or so, there is no way I can be devastated by the game's result. I'll sleep fine either way.
  2. Eagles/Pats. It was a pretty negative experience. Maybe I was just in a bad section, but it felt kind of toxic, and it was hard to see some plays from where I was sitting. I wouldn't go to another one, especially if it was the Bills playing. Paul McCartney was great, though.
  3. There are really 2 kinds of fans: fans who strictly root for laundry, and fans who love both the laundry, and the game. Neither is better or worse.
  4. The fuss about Swift just isn't something I relate to. No idea why it bugs people. Girlfriend of player goes to games, has fun. How can that be bad?
  5. I was just talking w/ my friends about this yesterday. It will absolutely happen. But it won't have that much lasting power. It will just be a few months of annoyance.
  6. Anyone check the Pats boards on this topic? Mahomes needs 8 Super Bowls to surpass Brady, per them. That's really not how it works. Bill Russell isn't the GOAT in basketball. And there is some idea that it's meaningful that Brady beat Mahomes in their head-to-head match-ups. As though it's tennis.
  7. The Bills are now the top dog in terms of heartbreaking losses & disappointment. There really isn't another team that matches us in that regard - we have so many losses that have names most sports fans recognize And we've gotten more fiercely loyal over the years. Far from giving up, most of us are even more committed, and proud to be Bills fans. And there is something about the nature of the city. Small market nestled in the far reaches of western NY, which is buried in snow for good portions of the year. The Bills are THE main attraction. That's just not the case with larger markets.
  8. I still cry every time I hear that song. It is truly devastating.
  9. KC's experience is such a benefit in a game like this. That team has a ton of SB experience. It's kind of like what happened w/ the Pats all those years - they had a big advantage at a certain point, just by virtue of the fact that they had been there so many times. For players going to their 1st SB, it can be overwhelming. I'm expecting a good, close game - but a KC blowout wouldn't shock me, especially if they get off to a hot start.
  10. I get what some on this thread are saying about homefield not having been so much of an advantage over the past couple of years. But, quite clearly - having the bye week would be a huge advantage. Just this past season alone - to have that week to heal from some of our injuries, as well as the NEW injuries we incurred on WC weekend. Having that week off is huge. It still bothers me that only the 1 seed gets the bye now.
  11. I don't think the bolded is a fair take. What is a Super Bowl caliber roster? Well, you root for one. KC is that. They're IN the Super Bowl. And the Bills non-Super Bowl caliber roster beat KC at their house in the regular. In the playoffs, I think most would agree that it was a coin flip game. And in that game, KC's receivers, who had notably dropped quite a few passes all season, made spectacular catches - while the Bills made some fairly uncharacteristic drops on what would have been game-changing plays. It's hard to pin something like that on roster construction. And people call it the injury excuse, but it's not an excuse if it's reality. I don't think the Chiefs would have fared as well if they were missing their 2 best LB's, their 2 best CB's, and their #2 WR (as well as other assorted key players). I said before the season that the Bills had their best roster in the JA era, and I stand by that. They were as Super Bowl caliber as any team - certainly when relatively healthy. Has Veach been better than Beane? It's hard to argue the results. Veach is great. But the Bills have drafted really well over the past few years. Veach's picks seem to have more of an immediate impact, while some of the Bills picks have emerged over time. And that's only part of the equation for a GM. Considering our cap situation, Beane has done a great job of adding key contributors. His biggest miss over the past few years (imo) has been at the WR position, with both Harty & Sherfield, neither of whom panned out as hoped.
  12. Bad no-challenge from the Chiefs. They had it on 3rd down. Great 4th down stop from the Ravens.
  13. Man, if it's KC/Detroit, that will be the ultimate Voldemort/Potter match-up.
  14. If the Chiefs win and anyone wants any kind of consolation, Patriots fans are already melting down about the possiblity. So terrified of anyone inching in on Brady's legacy.
  15. This is making me sad - I thought the Ravens were on another tier. Very beatable team.
  16. Ravens D is pretty disappointing so far. I thought they'd look less like us.
  17. Kind of a bummer that I have to watch my 2 least favorite players - Gronk & Mahomes - in every other commercial for the rest of my life.
  18. Another guy who just needed some time. Seems to be a theme w/ a lot of the Bills' younger players.
  19. I didn't say he can't. He's not asked to nearly as much as Allen.
  20. It will change how I am as a fan significantly. Though, I will still watch. But the emotional investment will be quite a bit less.
  21. The time for Allen comparisons will be when everyone playing now is retired. I'm not as concerned about that. I want Detroit, then San Fran, in that order. I just like those teams better.
  22. I'll enjoy the sense of peace. I truly cannot have peace right now. I meditate, I eat right, I have a very good perspective on life w/ all of its triumphs & setbacks. But the Bills not winning a title is like some sort of wall between me & true happiness that I can't see beyond, or get past. Probably sounds a bit melodramatic. But I do not have peace. When the Bills win it all - I will, and plan to just enjoy that experience.
  23. Chris Jones made the play. If Allen isn't touched, that's a TD.
