Another guy who just needed some time. Seems to be a theme w/ a lot of the Bills' younger players.

Who are your top 10 QBs in the league
Success replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I didn't say he can't. He's not asked to nearly as much as Allen. -
What will you do when the Bills win the Super Bowl?
Success replied to WotAGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall
It will change how I am as a fan significantly. Though, I will still watch. But the emotional investment will be quite a bit less. -
Which QB do you want to win the Super Bowl?
Success replied to Joe Ferguson's topic in The Stadium Wall
The time for Allen comparisons will be when everyone playing now is retired. I'm not as concerned about that. I want Detroit, then San Fran, in that order. I just like those teams better. -

I'll enjoy the sense of peace. I truly cannot have peace right now. I meditate, I eat right, I have a very good perspective on life w/ all of its triumphs & setbacks. But the Bills not winning a title is like some sort of wall between me & true happiness that I can't see beyond, or get past. Probably sounds a bit melodramatic. But I do not have peace. When the Bills win it all - I will, and plan to just enjoy that experience.- 98 replies

Chris Jones made the play. If Allen isn't touched, that's a TD.

Am I the only one not planning on watching Chiefs/Ravens??
Success replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think there are football fans, and team fans. Neither way is better - it's just the way of things. I'm a completely die-hard Bills fan. And I have died, hard. But I'm also a huge fan of the game. Tomorrow is definitely a make your best food, drink your best drinks, and settle in for close to 8 hours of great football kind of day. I will watch every minute. -
The Ravens playoff game. The offense couldn't do much. I thought that was the best defensive gameplan he has had.

Nacua is one of those guys that a LOT of teams are wishing they hadn't passed on now. It happens.

That's what I see when I watch so many other games. There is just some bad coaching out there. It's hard to find a good coach, and almost impossible to find a great coach. The Chiefs are lucky. Reid is at the top of his game, and the best out there. And Philly fans couldn't wait to move on from him - which shows how easy it is to have a "grass is always greener" kind of mindset. As for the bolded, I don't think that's so much it, at least here. It may seem like we don't credit the Chiefs, but that's because most here can't stand them, which is natural given that they're basically the new Patriots for us. We've had hand-wringing on this board about McDermott for awhile now, and the playoff futility goes beyond just not being able to beat KC. This team has underachieved to this point. I'm okay w/ McD, but I'd prefer to see them go after Belichick or Vrabel while both are available. Belichick because he's the best (when he doesn't GM), and Vrabel because I think he'd bring a mental toughness that this team needs.

Very similar to Manning & the Pats. That was his nemesis for so long. Then he broke through in '06, in spectacular fashion, coming back from 21-3. And didn't really look back after that - he won the last part of that rivalry. That's what I'm hoping for. He who laughs last, and all that.

I'll simply never agree w/ this. I'm convinced that if Allen goes for Diggs, and then something happens to derail the drive - maybe a holding penalty, maybe a turnover - the armchair QB's would have spent the week talking about Allen looking at a wide open Shakir in the endzone and passing it up. THAT is awareness. You don't always get open guys in the endzone. Once you get closer to the 10 yard line, it's even more rare.

It would be kind of fun if we went all in and traded up for MHJ.

I've been vocal that we should hire someone else this offseason - but only because of the coaches who are available. It's rare to have this many proven coaches out there. But, I disagree that he is not top 15, and would even argue that he is top 10. Coaching in the league is simply not very good. Reid, Harbaugh & Demeco Ryans are excellent, imo. After that, it drops off. Sirianni was hot last year, but his team totally fizzled this year. McDaniel was hyped, but I wouldn't want him. I like Dan Campbell, but he still has to prove he can get to a SB also. Pederson won a SB, but really squandered a talented Jags team this season. Like, who is that much better than McDermott out of maybe a top 5-7 guys? He's a solid coach. And he would for sure be a hot candidate if he were available.

I didn't listen to it - but the loss to KC is still pretty fresh. He's likely pretty gutted this week, just like all of us. This team IS in good shape going into next year. The O-line is set. How many times have we been able to say that? We have Allen, and a good youthful core on offense w/ Cook, Shakir & Kincaid. On defense, we may see the best LB corps in the JA era next year, with both Milano & Bernard playing, and if Williams can take a step. We're always good at CB, and have good players there. The line should be okay if Oliver can keep up his great play. Hopefully we sign Epenesa, and Von can be more impactful. Safety is the area that needs addressing, but I'm sure we draft someone, and pick up a FA. The team just has to stay a little healthier next year. We're right there w/ the top teams in terms of talent.

I know what you're saying, but it's all hot-take stuff. Lamar would vault ahead of Allen for a year - but Allen could reclaim the hype this time next year w/ a deeper run. I'm thinking about 10 years down the line, looking back on all of their careers. I still want Allen to catch Mahomes in terms of accomplishments, and think he can. -
Can anyone remember another QB getting called a "choker" for choosing the wrong open receiver at the end of a game? It's usually reserved for throwing a pick or overthrowing someone who is open. I can't recall a time when a QB was so criticized for having 2 open guys, and choosing the 1 that would have been a TD.

It's not the kind of overview that you want to be on the wrong side of. We're underachievers, not overachievers. We are unlucky, not lucky. I don't believe in curses, at all - but it's weird. We seem to have a team that has a large weight of history on it now. It seems like we keep adding to that weight every year, and it becomes progressively harder to overcome. So many "what ifs." It's crazy. It will make it that much better if we finally get a title, but I do wonder if we ever will.

Positive thoughts & prayers for a quick and full recovery.

The charity thing really set us apart for awhile, though it doesn't seem like we do that as much anymore. But the level of heartache & disappointment also sets us apart. That's not something we control - but it does create a special bond & weirdly, a very unique experience. When I see Bills fans when I'm traveling, it's like seeing family. It's not like that w/ my other sports loyalties. There are a lot of great fanbases, for sure. But there is something about the experience of a Bills fan, especially the older ones. I just don't see its equivalent.

Sunday’s Loss Was Just a Replay of the Win in KC
Success replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
The D-line - I just don't get it. Oliver was incredible all year, and didn't seem to do anything this past Sunday. It feels like every time we hit the playoffs since 13 seconds, "underperforming" is the theme. It's discouraging. I really don't know at this point if we're ever gonna win one. Even w/ a QB like Josh Allen.
