11/7/21 Gameday Bills @ Jaguars First Half Thread
Success replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why is our line so weak? I feel like they have made some big investments there, and we have good players like Dawkins & Morse... -
Josh Allen vs. Mahomes: Last 32 regular season starts
Success replied to Sammy Watkins' Rib's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is no way I'd trade Mahomes for Allen right now. Mahomes is incredibly fun to watch - but he still does all of that hero-ball, Globetrotters stuff. He's not disciplined. Allen is progressing away from that every year. The trajectory with Allen is more of a diagonal line upward - Mahomes is the same QB he's been for 3 years now. I think Allen is going to have a better overall career, and be looked upon as the better QB when all is said & done. -
TNF: Jets @ Colts, 8:20 on Fox/NFLN
Success replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Do fans here consider the Jets a rival? I've gotta say - I don't for the most part. -
I just realized that I'm freaking out. I'm not sure I know this team yet. They're not the team I expected in '21, but they're still awesome. I'm enjoying the season, but also filled with trepidation. Are we one of the best teams? Are we a contender, but not there yet? Is it all just week to week? What if we show up in the SB and play like we did the 1st half against Miami? Why are we here? What is our place in the universe? What if I had married the girl that checked every box, but we were just "too young?" As I mentioned, I'm freaking out. I hope the Jacksonville game is over by halftime.

I'm super tired and can't read through this whole thing. Apologies in advance. Can anyone give me a summary? Are we keeping the Bills in Buffalo, or are they fair game for the vultures?

I'd like to avoid Belichick and Brady - in that order.

Pats are 4-4 with a rookie QB and almost top 10 defense
Success replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was bummed yesterday. The Chargers really handed them the win. But, teams tend to do that against BB. He generally makes sure that it's not his team that makes the game-deciding mistake (though that happened earlier this season). They won't be an easy out by any means, and I do NOT want to face that team in the playoffs. The "playoff experience" advantage is ridiculous for Belichick. It's like a normal day at the office for him now. It will be nice when he finally retires. I think this Pats team is very middlin' in terms of talent, but that's all he needs to keep them in contention. -
That's fun to watch. Not the right team, old man.
-
Chargers gave that game away. Kind of frustrating. The Pats are BB. Put that team under just about any other coach, and they're not much. But those guys play sound, situational football, and rarely beat themselves. What's up w/ BB, anyway? I thought he said he didn't want to be coaching at 70 like Marv Levy. Getting pretty close there...

It's always kind of hilarious when Pats fans complain about officiating being "one sided" against them.

Wow - Bass is really emerging as one of the best kickers we've had in awhile. -

With the way the D is playing, a solid scoring drive here could put this one away. -

That drive was all kinds of satisfying. -

That's all today is about now. It's a tie game against a bad team, at home, with almost a full half to play. Just find a way to win. -
Dolphins @ the Bills - 1st Half Thread - Trick or Treat 2021?
Success replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I support it. This is a team that needs to regroup at the half. They're making too many mistakes. -

This team is flat. They have to figure it out. -

Bend, don't break. Just like they drew it up. -
There is no fanbase that is more equipped to deal w/ that. I swear, there is a part of me that wants that. Being a Bills fan has kind of done a # on me. We've gone through stuff I never would have imagined when I first decided "I think I like sports!" But it's part of who I am now, and I can't help but embrace it.
-
Brady just scares me for obvious reasons. I don't think anyone is better when the pressure is the most intense. And there is just no matching the experience. If we get there, it's JA's 1st. Brady has basically lived there. It will be another day at the office for him.
-
Good call on that. He has defended Brady well in the past. And like another poster said - it would be cool to beat Brady in the big one. That would exorcise a few demons for me.
-
I can't relate to this kind of rational thought.

Just curious what everyone's thoughts are (and I'm a fan, so I don't have to take it one game at a time). I do think the Bills have the best team in the AFC. The playoffs can always hinge on a few bounces of the ball, but I really like our chances to get to the big game this year. Maybe it's PTSD from 20 years of Brady, but the idea of him waiting there for us is kind of like "the sound of inevitability" from the Matrix or something. Just this thing that won't go away, that we can't avoid and that seems to have some weird paranormal edge over Buffalo. But well beyond that is a team that - when healthy - has units that are almost at an all-pro level in terms of personnel. The defense can be fierce, and the offense has more weapons than any team in the league. They made KC look like amateurs last year (granted, the injuries to the O-line really hurt KC in that game). It would be a great challenge, but personally, I'll be rooting for any other team in the NFC once the playoffs start. Am I overplaying it?
-
I tend to think all fanbases are essentially the same. There are good & bad in the mix in any football city. But, that said, I have to say I was genuinely taken aback the 1st time I went to the Chiefs board. It was AFTER they beat us in the AFCCG, and man, did "sore winner" ever apply to just about every post. And really vile stuff, too - the opposite of this board.

Why does so much of NY have to watch a NJ team whose season is already over?
