  1. I think the Colts are going to be way better than Tennessee. TN's run last year was pretty flukey. Too hard to predict, otherwise. That AFCW is really somethin'. The carnage in that division will probably open up a spot for a team like Miami.
  2. I think I'd try to find a way to buy the Patriots, and then move them to Albuquerque.
  3. I thought the Rams would have been a bad SB match-up for us last year. I might even put that in the "unpopular opinions" thread on the other forum. Our line - though they were playing well - would have had a tough time w/ that pass rush. Our secondary would have had a tougher time covering those receivers. I feel like they've lost a little, and we've gained a little, and it's a more favorable match-up for the Bills now. It wouldn't even surprise me if we won by a few scores.
  4. I thought the throw that Hyde picked off looked beautiful - the accuracy was perfect. But, it highlighted what one of his big flaws is - it didn't have nearly enough juice. He'll never be able to sling it like the top guys. I also think he'll wilt more under pressure, which he hasn't really had to face yet because the Pats do a good job w/ their line. He isn't a good scrambler or improviser.
  5. Changing the actor for Jeff kind of hurt the payoff, imo. With the new actor, I kind of felt bad for the character - the other actor made him more menacing & more of a jerk. Probably a polarizing episode for fans, but I liked it. It was a really slow build, but they could use a lot of what they did in film school - the angles, the repetition, even the close-ups of the cinnabun. And Carol Burnett!
  6. Or, they might have a standing game of "rock, paper, scissors"....
  7. That's more when he is talking about opponents. He's usually much more guarded about his own players, which is why his comments earlier were noteworthy (imo).
  8. I wouldn't call this a happy development. Not scary, but if we make the SB, I'd say there is a 50% chance that the Bucs are there waiting for us. He's not as good. But he's also still Julio Jones.
  9. Edmunds is underrated by this fanbase. I wish fans would throw drafts out the window when evaluating players currently. If we didn't trade up to get him, or he was picked in the 2nd, fans would be excited about this.
  10. I think if Belichick retired, pretty much everything about that team would be a moot point. Put that roster under most other coaches, and they're middlin' at best. There are almost no players that they have that I would take over a Bills player at the same position. Maybe Barmore? And same in reverse for Jones, imo. If he was in a sitation last year like Lawrence had w/ the Jags, or Wilson with the Jets, no one would be talking about him.
  11. For me, it's decision-making ability & the ability to process things quickly. I was impressed how he would go through his reads, and make quick decisions. I think his arm held him back more than anything.
  12. That's how I feel about it. He's clearly pretty solid. In a way, that could be a good scenario for the division. The Pats have a Cousins/Alex Jones type of guy - good, but not close to great. They have to overpay him in a couple of years, and he's their long-term guy, but he can only take them so far.
  13. Outside of New England, I doubt any fanbase knows and understands the Sith Lord more than Bills fans. He doesn't say stuff like that. Just wanted to get a temperature out there: there has been a ton of Jones hype this offseason, and at minimum, he IS in much better shape physically. Any concern at all that we could be in for another run from that team? Obviously, we're still top dog for the time being, but if Jones does pan out, I could see them being more like Miami was in the '90's to the team we had then. My own 2 cents is that I still don't see it. He can't really improvise, and arm strength will always be an issue. He also struggles against man coverage. But he does have the cerebral thing.
  14. All I've ever wanted is a team that realistically COULD win it. We had too many years of teams that would have no chance whatsoever, even if they snuck into the playoffs somehow. This team has an excellent chance. We happen to be peaking at a time when there are a lot of good QB's and teams, but the opportunity is still there. Of course it's no "lock." If it wasn't a lock for the '07 Pats or '01 Rams, it's not a lock for anyone.
  15. I told myself I wouldn't watch the KC playoff game for years - but of course I watched most of it when they showed it on the NFL network last night. Still can't watch the end. But watching JA is jaw-dropping, almost the whole time. He just does it all - his ability to evade pressure and improvise is superior to anyone I've ever seen at the position. He has every tool imaginable, is as athletic as anyone in the game, and mentally, he's both intelligent and fearless. And he is CLUTCH. Do you believe it now, Trinity? This is the guy we slogged through a few decades for. I'm excited for so many things this season - but I'm mostly excited just to watch him play again.
  16. "Do your job" is an incredibly brilliant, deceptively simple & very effective team philosophy.
  17. In the vastness of space & time, "wide right" and "13 seconds" don't seem to mean as much. Thank you, James Webb telescope.
  18. I think this team learned its lesson about buying the hype last year. They're going to come out on fire, and it will be the football equivalent of Sherman's March from there.
  19. I have a bit more fear of Jones exceeding expectations than I let on. I was really hoping that they wouldn't do a Montana/Young thing there. I still don't believe it will be that, but there is a small chance of it. Other teams should have hopped on Jones last year in the draft - he really is pretty decent. Though, it's still hard for me to tell how much of that is Belichick. He made Cassell and Jimmy G. look really good, too.
  20. Does anyone have ANY speculation on what lies ahead? I thought Lalo & Kim's fates were going to be the focus of most of the remaining episodes - but so much got wrapped up right away. I thought that was the best possible outcome for Kim, who I wasn't really "rooting" for anymore. She'll have to live w/ what she did, but she's getting away and hopefully to a more positive life overall. It totally made sense that her leaving is what finally pushed Jimmy over into being 100% Saul, and both actors did an amazing job making that credible. Naturally, we're going to get a good dose of Gene (I think). But that world is one that still has to be fleshed out. It's hard to see how they make it as compelling - but they're wizards, so I shouldn't question that too much.
  21. Good point about the perspective. I remember talking myself into Edwards, Orton, Taylor...even Tuel. I think Dalton is a pretty decent comparison. Jones is a smart QB, but doesn't have the same physicality as most of the elite guys, and can't really improvise once things break down. I see him as a dangerous opponent only as long as BB coaches there. Beyond that, I don't think they'll really contend w/ him.
  22. Anyone ever check the Pats boards? The perception of Jones is radically different from what it is here or anywhere else. I'd say most of their fans think he's going to be elite, and some even agree w/ Schrager that he could be a dark horse for MVP. Regardless, he's pretty decent, and I'm inclined to think both Tua and Wilson will be capable QB's. We aren't going to get the cakewalk of a division that the Pats got for 2 decades - which is kind of a bummer, but also a bit more fun. Barring anything unforeseen, I'd agree w/ most that the division should be ours fairly easily (I don't expect the team to buy into the hype like they did last year, which led to some lapses like the Jags game). Beyond that, I see a lot of close division games deciding the rest of the order. I'd probably pick Miami #2, Pats #3 and Jets #4, but big improvement from the Jets would hardly surprise me.
  23. I'm probably not the only one - but I always felt like if we got that 1st one, we would have won at least 2, if not 3 out of those 4. The only one I'm sure we wouldn't have lost is the 1st against the Cowboys. That team was just too good. But for the Redskins and the 2nd Cowboys game, it was just in their head. I remember one of the players saying before the Redskins SB that they didn't want the Bills to be "like the Broncos." It was all way too psychological at that point.
  24. I've been saying for awhile that I think Allen could be in the GOAT conversation eventually. And I don't think that's a homer take. I've watched the NFL for a long time and seen most of the greats. He just does stuff that no one else can really do. And he absolutely has the clutch gene to go along w/ all of that crazy talent.
