I really think people don't get how hard it is in the heat of the battle on the sideline. Yes they need someone in the booth calm and providing guidance, Yes McD should not have called the TO, I think he panicked. But I also think a lot of other things people question are not blatent like they make them out to be. I wish he just came out and said should not have called that timeout. Instead he is like maybe we should have passed....well yes maybe you should have passed, that is a misdemeanor compared to calling that timeout.

Just an example you cannot just go by stats. Look at Josh's stats Sunday...when you are behind, you can put up big numbers but if another guy is on a team that is always winning he may not put up those same numbers. You have to look at the whole picture.

You are saying if Josh did not like the call he would instead of running the play, he would "just spike it"? That does not seem too plausible.

The problem is you are assuming you just get two everytime, it does not work that way in real life....I think 2 point conversions are a little better than a coin flip.

Probably because they had no timeouts but that is just a wild guess. This type of failure after what happened in Denver last year is hard to accept. Once in a lifetime can a miracle happen anyway but they need to find a way to communicate better on the sidelines in those situations. You had 3 downs to get ready for it too.....you kind of knew what the situation was probably going to be.

Here is how I choose to look at things. They are never as good as they may appear to be ina. Dominant win or as bad as they appear in a loss. Football is a complex game with amazingly skilled athletes on both sides as well as coaches scheming things up. There are no guarantees even when you are the better team. The Rams were fighting for their lives and stafford/nacua are just incredible. Those other guys get paid too. Every game is a chess match of sorts and sometimes their plan vs your plan works out in their favor. the lions were like the worst 3rs down offense going into this game. They converted almost every one yesterday. They changed things up. projecting one nfl game to another is never the right way to look at it. That is why there almost always is always the perfect circle….team 1 beats team 2. Team 2 beats team 3 ….til team 32 beats team 1

Belichick will punt on a lot of fourth downs McDermott goes for it on. Belichick was constantly second guessed by fans and the media about game management.....it was all OK in the end because he won Super Bowls. Who cares what could have been in week 14 when you are going to and winning super bowls....he is a mad 5D chess playing genius. There will always be these threads and the only solution is winning the whole damn thing. Lets say they did not call timeout, they lined up and snuck it while burning 20 seconds. Bills get the ball with 18 seconds and no timeouts, they fail to get in FG range.....there would still be hyper criticism today but the focus would probably be on accepting that penalty more. Even though that one was not as obvious.

Agreee he will not win it but it is because they tend to give it to the coach of a team that had no expectations but then had a good season. Reid is also not considered. Reid also makes gaffes in time management.

It was a sneaky sneak….they also tried that unsuccessfully in tennessee at the end of a game a couple years ago. The crime was the timeout and not as much the call/play. I understand the argument against a run but they could have run a play after losing 15 seconds. The time out all but ended the game.

Yea the staff wants him to limit runnning but we know Josh has not always listened to that. He has this year and it shows a maturing. I believe all the decisions yesterday were his. My take is he was not accurate on a couple throws in those situations but guys were open. In the second half he just did what he is best at. still this is nit picking. The offense scored 42 points with no turnovers. The problem was not on offense.
