  1. Is this the Henry Higgins Beverly Cleary Henry? Either way I read those way back, I forget virtually all of it other than the names.
  2. Came reasonably close to having it named the Wilson Trophy...
  3. For sure these, and the Great Brain series. I read a lot as a kid, used to take out a half a dozen books a week from the library. Anything to do with the outdoors or indians was good too, stuff like Rascal or how to survive in the woods kind of stuff.

  5. Some of you may remember Nate from the BBMB, have met him, or are buds with him. He does the Roswell ride every year, 60+ miles (this is on a bicycle in case you didn't know). If you'd like to contribute to his goal of $1,500 in the spirit of finding a way to defeat cancer I would encourage you to do so. Major Bills/Sabres fan, a true WNY'er... and a good guy to boot. Here is the link to his Roswell page should you be interested in donating. It can be anything, $5 or a Million... but his goal is to at least hit the $1,500 mark. Thanks for reading this. http://give.roswellpark.org/site/TR?px=1001869&fr_id=1320&pg=personal
  6. This is the way to go, you will know within 48 hours where you missed with the broadcaster: https://www.milorganite.com/using-milorganite/what-is-milorganite
  7. He looks like he skipped school to go play NHL hockey...
  8. I had showed a different version of this to one of my best friends, who happens to be a cowgirls fan, and it choked him up too. Basically what he said was "wow, holy....", keeping it in the coc here.
  9. It got me too and probably thousands upon thousands of others. One thing is for sure, we will all remember where we were when that happened. The wife actually came in to check on me... I was pretty loud :-)
  10. Bills "mafia" is the dumbest thing I've heard lately... I'll just stick to being a Bills fan. Mafia? lol...
  11. I have seen many post this... the Bills were founded/established in October of 1959, not 1960.
  12. This isn't football... its something football "like". These kinds of leagues never seem to make it.
  13. I watched it, excellent interview for sure... skipped the Floyd doc though, had seen it before. Never had this channel until I got Sling a few months ago.
  14. Helps to have an experienced salesman who you know personally guide you through the process... the stories he's told me about selling cars would shatter your brain. Mainly, there really is no sale going on ever... no matter how many balloons we have out front or how many times you've seen/heard our commercials. Trade ins, for the most part, are treated like auction items... unless it's something that is exceptional and can make it as a resale at the dealership. For spending so much money on a car we are treated like a cheap whore when it comes down to actually obtaining one... we are better than that people, never buy Brand New.
  15. I turned this #$%^ off... I'm watching a movie instead. I hope the Bills turn us on next year because there is no way the Sabres will. WTF On with The Haunting....
  16. My employ only shuts down during hurricanes, last one was Irma... however, during the usual gas leaks and bomb threats kind of stuff we work straight through.
  17. A buddy of mine has that plan, and like you they aren't giving it up for anything... grandfathered in. Think they are running 6 different phones on it... mom, dad, 3 kids, and a fiance'. Dumb question but I really don't know, you can run a smart tv off of your hotspot, correct?
  18. Everyone's situation is different. Here, she Has to have internet and a landline phone (which we've never used, its just the connection that is needed) for her job. She works out of the house for a large worldwide company. Think that bill is $100 a month or so through Verizon or whatever they are called now, Frontier I think... that bill has to be paid regardless. So, by cutting directv and using Sling we are saving $75 a month for more tv than both of us combined would ever watch. Something I failed to mention earlier is that there are a ton of apps that you can download to your smart tv for free. I watched a pretty cool youtube video on that a month ago or so, I'll post it so it might help some people see the seemingless endless boundaries the new wave has.
  19. I usually watch them online but to be honest we've sucked so bad this year that its hard to watch, sometimes I just opt for a movie instead. Or both, Sabres game on the laptop and movie on the tv. I have Sling Blue, 40 or so channels... $28 a month with taxes and fees... and there are usually a couple of hockey games on in the evening. Depending on what Sling package one has, a sports package upgrade is 5-10 dollars more a months so I suppose you might want to look into this. Here is what I have as of now: https://www.sling.com/#dyn-grid-package-tab-2-30m Sometimes the Sabres are on, sometimes not... and when I say not they are in the grid but it says something like "content may be unavailable in your area" which I don't get, if the Sabres are playing say Nashville why in the world would it say that when I live in Florida? One thing I forgot to mention earlier is that with Sling, and probably others too, if you are getting 40 channels you are getting 40 channels of watchable tv. No filler crap like HSN, infomercial channels, jewelry channels, etc. It seems like with directv I had 300 channels with maybe 60 of them watchable. Gawd am I glad I ditched them.
