Black Friday Game Thread (no Bills stuff please)
Buffalo ill replied to ryguy101's topic in The Stadium Wall
I live in a traditionally Seahawks fan dominated area and am actually surprised how little chatter I'm hearing about the team. These are mainly the same people who went all in on the legion of boom bandwagon, even calling themselves "12s" while flying dorky #12 flags on their cars. -
Should the league change how it schedules games?
Buffalo ill replied to McMuffin's topic in The Stadium Wall
It should have remained a 16 game season. Games should only be on sunday/monday. Thanksgiving is ok I suppose. That and it should remain in the continental US. We all know that the corporate model is that there is never enough growth. The beast will never be satisfied. -
Don't they have a 16 year old linebacker?

Just play this song from a nice little band founded in Buffalo.

I think he is more likely to get injured from holding the ball too long in the pocket than he is on a scramble.

I'm sure Cooks is capable of fumbling an end around without weeks of practice.

How much will the legendary urinal sell for? -
I honestly can't say what coach I think is more at fault. I don't like what they have tried to turned Josh into (game manager). It's like a square peg in a round hole. If they just want a game manager, they can pay a worse QB less money and use the savings to build a better team like the 49ers before overpaying Purdy. Also, I think Allen is more likely to get injured taking hits in the pocket than he is scrambling for a first down. They have coached the running out of him, but not given him open targets (be it lack of wr talent or poor play designs) so he holds the ball forever, taking big hits. Sometimes he doesn't notice "what the defense gives him" but that goes back to the square peg/round hole comment. The coaching staff wants to use their sports car only for driving 5 under the speed limit to the grocery store. I also can't say if the poor drafting is all on Bean, his scouts, McDermott demanding process guys, or some combination of all the above. You can't draft that poorly for that many years and stay relevant. They also can't get excited that a player they drafted isn't an outright bust and overpay them for getting over that low bar.

Some folks are ok with just being pretty good. They call those of us who are not satisfied "entitled". They are probably the same ones who drool over the afc championship trophies from the 90s. Then there are those of is who aren't content with being the Mike Tomlin steelers for the next 20 years, and are willing to risk changing things up.

Sit 4 weeks, start one game, make a nice catch, and get (insert soft tissue injury here).

Who do we want, who do we need as our next OC/DC?
Buffalo ill replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I like to think there are guys we've never heard of who are every bit as good as any nfl coordinator at x's and o's. Maybe they are coaching college or high school right now. How you find one, instead of jumping on the nfl nepotism merry go round, is another issue entirely. -
I would ideally want both to go. I voted Bean, because of the dumpster fire roster and the big contracts for always injured underperforming players. Now I may cut McDermott (some) slack if Bean is the one giving him these lemons. But if Bean makes his decisions based on what McDermott tells him to do (aka more of a puppet) then they both need to go.

What I noticed in the earlier meeting is the Patriots players actually seem to know how to tackle. I get that nfl offensive stars can make people miss, but I cannot stand to see well compensated professional defenders not know or care to wrap up and tackle.

Is watching the Bills fun for you these days?
Buffalo ill replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've called it Stockholm syndrome before. I get the feeling many embrace being "lovable losers" who skeet mustard on some dude and jump through tables. Just getting a whiff of success is all they are capable of dreaming of. -
I don't really follow the cap, but I am concerned about some of these contracts. I imagine the only way to turn this around sooner than later is to have a couple home run drafts, which Bean doesn't seem capable of.

Division is out at this point…have to do it as a wildcard

Even if we were lucky enough to move on from McBean, the large contracts given to average/injury prone players have set the franchise behind for years. -
11/20/2025 Bills @ Texans post game thread
Buffalo ill replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think the current version of the Bills can beat a team with an elite defense. If the offense sputters, I don't see this defense keeping another team below 20 points. Basically there will be no 14-10 or 9-7 victories. -

This entire season has felt off, and even when they win it still feels like a loss. -

Their defensive backs can instantly drop a tank of a fullback with the first contact. Our defense typically takes 4 or 5 guys to stop a running back 9+ yards downfield. -

Imagine how spooky the Texans would be if they had an elite qb. -

Fortunately the Texans get beat by teams with actual nfl caliber defenses, so I don't expect the Bills to face this D again this season. Now to scrape together a wild card spot. -

Maybe the secret to this game is to just not let our offense get on the field. Hold to fg, let davis return for tds. Elite new strategy -

Well we all know if the offense has an off game the defense surely won't be able to bail them out.
