  1. Exactly right. Pegula looks gullible. He let Rex take over the organization in 2015, let Rex hire his brother so that the Ryan's were in complete control in 2016, you see in how the Bills drafted for two years, now we've fallen Head over heels for Carolina's DC, Sean the Wrestler. I am not a Whaley fan, and think he is a Scout that does nothing else that the GM position demands, but at this point leadership is allowing him to be a holdover like Tom Modrak was all the way into 2010.
  2. So in Pegula's mind the perfect time to fire someone is right after you extend them.
  3. In regards to EJ - The thought process from our GM and Assistant GM in 2013 made no sense. You pair a Rookie HC in Marrone, with a first time NFL Offensive Coordinator (Hackett), and make him serve double duty as the QB Coach, then surround Manuel with Practice Squad Journeyman Thad Lewis, and undrafted rookie free agent Jeff Tuel. Horrible support staff. But EJ has had plenty of chances since then to prove he can play. So this idea that EJ was ruined is bogus. He is not accurate and can't throw with anticipation, so therefore he can't play. Whaley has shown he is a scout only. He doesn't do the job of a GM.
  4. I am with you. I need to see Watkins play like the 4th pick in the Draft from start to finish, and the Bills actually show a plan that gets him the ball every single game. Running the offense through McCoy and Watkins. We are good at using McCoy, but Watkins has just been wasted in Buffalo.
  5. Pegula has bought both Buffalo sports teams in a time where if you don't have state of the art stadiums, or you are deemed too small, you get moved. And he has invested money into the city of Buffalo. For this, he will always have the support of the fans, as he should. I guess the better way to state my opinion is - I have been surprised 6 years in the Sabres and 2+ with the Bills, how disorganized Pegula Sports has been. Reiger gets extended, then fired, LaFontaine picks Murray then resigns, Murray just got an extension, now fired, how quickly they have bought Russ Brandon and made him President of the entire operation, the Rex Ryan show, hiring his brother, firing him 2 years into his 5 year deal. Constant stories of dysfunction and infighting. I am surprised at how disorganized all of this has seemed. Our reputation in both cities has been 2 years and you get fired. Whaley is hanging on by a thread now.
  6. I think the Pegula's will always be seen somewhat positively because they saved Buffalo sports. But I have to say they are becoming increasingly unlikeable. Both franchises are becoming harder and harder to root for behind these owners. Another Coach fired, scouts fired, GM fired. Pegula is paying Rex not to work, now Murray and Blysma, LaFontaine quit, as did Marrone. Yet Pegula stands up there today and lectures about what it takes to win? No decision was made before Wednesday, even though there were reports. No comment about Rex, then he was fired mid-sentence, no Whaley/communication involved. They are 1/2 step ahead of Jimmy Haslam in my book when it comes to running the team.
  7. I'd like to see more out of Sammy Watkins. Both the Bills actually having a plan to force feed him the ball, all game, everygame and stop talking about how everyone needs to touch it (see Tyrod last season) and I need Watkins to stay healthy with no reports of little nagging injuries he has to play through all season. Bills picked Watkins over Kahlil Mack and so far there is no fruit on the tree besides 9 games of his 2nd season...
  8. To me, he just makes me roll my eyes. And maybe that's not much of his fault. You hear all these Coaches that come through here and they all start to sound the same after awhile. We are going to compete, earn the right to win (to me that sounds stupid), work hard, respect the process. He is saying the same things as Jauron, Chan, Marrone, Rex. Work really hard and compete. What he says publicly doesn't even matter. He doesn't say anything of significance or value. Its just canned, stock answers. Another thing, we've all worked with over-eager company guy. The guy who has done more than you by 6:00 am in the morning, the guy who looks at his watch when you come into the office at 8:00 am. Its great and all that he is that obsessed to wake up at 3:00 am every morning, and set his watch 4 minutes ahead, but I don't really care. None of that is going to win the Bills a Playoff game. McDermott is a chore to listen to so far.
  9. So far the Pegula's are almost as bad as Jimmy Haslam at building a football team. One Bills coach quit, Rex was a snake oil salesman, now we have dry McDermott. The Sabres have blown through Reiger, Lindy, Nolan, LaFontaine in the FO for 2 months, now Murray and Bylsma. Pegula just saying over and over discipline, communication, structure, character doesn't really do anything. Like he knows the formula now for winning? YOU NEED TALENT TERRY AND KIM! TALENT!
  10. Once again Jerry nails it. Sean McDermott talks about "respecting the process" whatever that means, so far he just speaks in general platitudes that inspires nothing. Today Pegula says it takes character, discipline, communication, structure. Yawn. Just win, because this song and dance of hiring and firing and new mission statements doesn't fool anyone. The Bills stink and haven't had a QB since 1996, the Sabres have low talent. All those platitudes are nice, but both GMs need to draft elite talent because working hard and waking up at 3:00 am is not going to get it done on the Playoffs. The other GMs that actually have their teams in the Playoffs. He's had enough time, he's had enough chances.
  11. In any order: Hooker, Howard, Foster are my Top 3 If I need two more to make 5 - Adams, Corey Davis I do not want any Cornerback at #10.
  12. I am just the opposite. As soon as I heard Sal Cappacio was leading it I was out. Sal is a motor-mouth who drowns out everyone else in the room with his stories about living in Florida, and his little sources that never really break any news. You can't have him on for more than a segment because he just talks over everyone else in the room.
  13. I think Whaley has earned that reputation, among the worst GMs in the league. You look at the Positives: 1. He has found guys like Incognito, Alexander, Graham, Gillislee, Brown in Free Agency. 2. He has reversed the trend where every big name Bills UFA walks - Dareus, Hughes, Glenn. The Negatives 1. He can't draft. Our Drafts consistently yield maybe one player who is good. Karlos Williams was awesome, for one season. Darby has been good. Watkins is talented, but hurt all the time, and underutilized, but after that it gets really thin on difference makers that Whaley has drafted. Additionally, with all the holes this season we have 6 Draft Picks, only 5 teams have less Draft capital than us, because Whaley has been insistent on moving up. 2. His answer at QB is to take other teams backups and have them compete with Manuel. See - Orton (after he said he was happy with Tuel and Thad Lewis), traded for Cassel, got outbid for McCown, signed Tyrod. 3. Reports have been consistent since he took over as GM that he clashes with people. The old guard was clashing with the new Guard after the 2013 season, his staff and Marrone got into TC 2014 about QB, reports of him feuding with Marrone at the end of 2014, reports of him and Rex feuding in 2015 and 2016, reports of him not agreeing with the Coaching staff on Taylor. 4. We don't win. He has been the #1 or #2 FO member in Buffalo since 2010 and this team wins 4, 6, 6, 6, 9, 8, 7 games.
  14. This is not an honest post. The logic/idea of trading up to draft a WR #4 overall in a deep WR draft with EJ Manuel as the starting QB, with Jeff Tuel and Thad Lewis as the primary backups was questioned by numerous analysts. One, its a WR we are trading up for, but #2, we had no QB. And then to see the Bills not commit to using Watkins heavily in every game just adds to the frustration. The idea of moving up to #4 didn't make sense with no QB and the holes the team had. But then to watch Watkins struggle with health all three years, the Bills have no game plan to get him the ball regularly, switching to a ground-pound Coach, running none of the short pass RAC routes that we saw in college is beyond frustrating. He is just like CJ Spiller. Ultra-talented, but there are games you are looking at the screen saying "where is Watkins?" and that happens too much for my liking.
  15. Cool, some production a year and a half ago. That trade has not worked yet, still waiting for a real uptick in wining because we have Sammy.
  16. The Bills plan to use him stinks and Sammy has yet to become a dominant player.
  17. Exactly. Sabres and Bills. Now Dan Blysma is the problem, fire him, get a screamer back in here. Or is it just that we don't have enough talent because Murray isn't done yet, Eichel and O'Reilly are quite as good as we wish? Maybe the Bills stink because Whaley can't draft and steps aside and lets the Coach set the vision for his team? We don't have enough good players in Buffalo to win anything.
  18. It has been a terrible trade up. Watkins still has yet to put in a season better than Steve Johnson's three 1,000 yard seasons in a row, who all the fans turned on during the end of his run here. Its bad all around. The Bills pay double for a WR in a stacked class that has been outperformed by the two WRs taken after him, he has been hurt - ribs, ankle, foot, we still have no QB that can get him the ball, we have game plans Watkins is used as a decoy the entire game (Patriots), or a safety rolls over the top and the Bills decide to take him out of gameplan (Chiefs). Tyrod said last year that they can't force the ball to Watkins because they need to get other people the ball too. SMH Tyrod. The Bills still don't use Watkins, and Watkins himself always has some issue with heath. He is always playing through something, or not 100%. McDermott just talked about running the ball and working hard, so nothing is going to change. Watkins being here does not lead to more winning, so its been a failure of a trade-up.
  19. Then again, I remember Modrak talking about how the team thought Troup was the best DT of the bunch at #41, and another where he talked about how Chris Ellis was going to make the jump from Year 1 to Year 2. The Bills are horrible at drafting.
  20. I listened to the interview. My opinion on Buffalo sports for awhile has been call me when you're good. Whether it be McDermott, Whaley or Tim Murray. Trying to listen to McDermott as if he is going to give the fans any real answers is not worth your time. He said much of the same things our old failed Head Coaches used to. "Work hard", "earn the right to compete and win", "draft the best player". Who knows, and at this point its the Bills job to try and make fans care again.
  21. I don't agree with this. Goodell has shown if you don't bend to the will of the NFL, you lose your team.
  22. This is Roger "the Puppet" Goodell. And he has show one thing - all he cares about is money.
  23. I am not sold at all on McDermott. He talks about Andy Reid and "one voice". Dude you're monotone and haven't won anything. Also that wasn't much of a denial, we've had conversations, ok...
  24. In 2011-2012 Roger Goodell already stated that the Bills need a new stadium when he visited for the Eagles game. He will strongarm and threaten the Bills with relocation unless they build a new stadium as he did with the Vikings, Chargers, St Louis and Oakland. Build a new stadium or lose your team.
