  1. My inner Beavis and Butthead had to notice Anus is in his last name. For the story it seems appropriate for this dude
  2. Sexy Rex- he couldn’t back up his personality. More annoyingly he just didn’t put the time and effort into wanting to win. Kelvin Benjamin and Mario Williams drove me nuts
  3. Bad things?
  4. It’s something as a kid I knew existed but never took seriously. Paul Phieffer from The Wonder Years was like the stereotype I had of allergy sufferers. Some years ago someone at work noticed I cleared my throat a lot and actually asked me that question if I had any. I still didn’t take it seriously but it made me wonder. I finally did see a specialist to find stuff I’m allergic too. I found out pollen…. It’s been kicking my butt of late.
  5. One of my first bosses was a big Bengals fan. During the interview I noticed he had lots of Bengals memorabilia in his office. So I mentioned liking the Bills and we kind of hit it off a bit after that. It was when both teams were both bad so we had some fun. I got the job afterwards. I’ll still say that will probably be the easiest job interview I’ll ever have the pleasure of going on.
  6. I loved the use of Heart of the Sunrise and Sweetness by Yes in Buffalo 66
  7. @Gugny @SinceThe70s @ExWNYer I took a ride out this weekend to Cleveland to meet up with @BarleyNY and we saw Monday night's game. Good times despite the poor on the field product the Mets put out. Cleveland is a nice city. I was surprised at the game there was a good number of Mets fans. I'd venture 25% of the fans there. That and the fact that Lindor was actually greeted warmly by the Guardian fans. I was expected him to be booed. Going to a game in Cincy last year and Cleveland this year I'm becoming more aware other teams in other cities have more attractions around the stadium in terms of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Jack's casino downtown in Cleveland is a short walk to Progressive Field and there are a number of bars/restaurants near by within walking distance. Citifield has the Flushing Meadows park near by but not a lot else to offer. Years back I ventured a couple of blocks away from Citifield in Flushing out of curiosity.... it looked kind of sketchy there. I would not be surprised if those garages across the street there are scrapping stolen cars for parts. Maybe besides the on the field product this is something Cohen will look into more as owner.... building more attractions near by. As far as the Mets goes we all kind of knew this year and there's a good chance next year will be a wash. But I mean there's really not much going on at the moment to hang your hat on. I'm thinking Big Pete and Diaz get traded or leave. I'd certainly rather spend my $$$ to see the team in Cleveland vs NY.
  8. Sadly it seems it's not cautious driving anymore just to wait a few seconds to go after the light turns green if you are the 1st car.
  9. General consensus drivers have gotten way worse in the last 20 years?
  10. Under Rex he wouldn’t have been the best but easily the most exciting QB in the league. Think of Randall Cunningham under his dad. Rex would prob just let him do his thing since “his specialty” was defense. Under Gailey he would have been lethal as well
  11. I say on the Welcome to Buffalo signs they should highlight the Bandits success. Even as someone from NJ who doesn’t follow or ever played lacrosse…. It’s a cool story
  12. The Mets should sign him
  13. I might have heard of them before your thread but my knowledge of the team and league is zilch. That being said I did a little research on the league itself. I feel like it might have some old school sports charm in that the players are most likely doing it as a labor of love. Being what google has as the average salary for players in the league the players must all have other jobs in the offseason. Especially if they have a family. But pro baseball and football was like that at one time way way way back as well. I think the Browns even have the numbers retired of some players that died in the off season doing other jobs. The league isn't my thing and most likely won't ever be. That being said I never played lacrosse. And I don't dismiss the league at all.
  14. On the bright side at least they won tonight. But yeah Diaz isnt instilling much faith in me either. While I don’t hate the Phillies as much as the average Met fan does, a 4 game sweep by the Phils coupled with the Rangers winning tonight would have been brutal.
  15. That's a shame and I don't even like Carolina.
  16. When you’re driving down a main road and a car on a side road come to their stop sign at about 100mph looking and feeling like they are going to plow into you. I always fear that person just ain’t stoping. Being tailgated or passed on a double lined road.
  17. Unless you happen to run into Mike Piazza 😅….. I think he’s a coach of Team Italy the last I heard in baseball? Enjoy the trip
  18. Me very much so. I know last year a bakery my grandparents used to take me to closed up after many many years. As a grown up I would go there for years as well. Part of the appeal was the nostalgic feel of that part of town/the place. But to my good fortune for the time being someone re-opened the bakery. They don't carry as much products as they used too but it's still good quality. I felt really happy when they opened up again. Or today for instance driving I came across an outlet store my parents took me to as a kid. Looked like the place dwindled down a lot over time. But it still brought back good memories. And on a sad note I struggled a bit when I found out online one day a childhood friend died. He an as adult seemed to go down some pretty bad paths in life involving the police after googling his name. But I can still recall hanging out with him a little when we were kids. My mom even one day when we were kids was able to set up an appointment with Carvel where we got to see the back of the store and make ice cream for ourselves as part of the Cub Scouts. One day out of the blue recently at an ice cream parlor I thought of Kevin and damn I mean it hurt. Even though I hadn't seen him in over 30 years. But that is just me. My Dad commented about the outlet store "It had its heyday" when I asked him about the place. My mom and another friend just kind of remarked "The choices people make in life" kind of thing when I brought up my old friend. My aunt when we talk about family stuff is very much a not look back on the past kind of person. She comments a lot how people are always resident to change. So yeah in my long winded way you can see I am quite a nostalgic person. Others I know not at all. How about you?
  19. Yeah in New York/New Jersey after Super Bowl 25 the G-men really weren't that good for much of the 90's. The Jets had a couple good seasons but weren't really that solid either. Coupling that with the days pre-Internet yet alone social media the NBA seemed way more popular in these parts then through my lenses. I'm not sure though as a whole the NFL was still more widely popular than the NBA back then. I mean you had guys like Michael Jordan, Shaq, Dennis Rodman, and Larry Bird, Magic Johnson who had cross over appeal to more mainstream audiences. NBA shoe culture was huge back in the day as well.
  20. It’s not an exaggeration to say where I went too school the NBA was more popular in those days. The biggest football fan I knew in middle school was a girl who had a big crush on Troy Aikman.
  21. I always loved his Touchdown Buffalo calls. They seemed genuinely enthusiastic
