Not sure what to think about this. Bills have an overabundance of WRs, Pro RBs and quality tackles of which the Texans need each. We could beat out the Dolphins on spare parts alone that will probably be cut.
Only one I would dismiss right away would be Bell. You can't know for sure what you get from him with a year away from the game and he is invested heavily into by his contract. Plus it is divisional and I wouldn't want to lose that draft compensation to the Jets even though all they will do is draft another DT with the pick anyways
It's kind of an issue when you are hyper focused on one position at the top of the draft. They can't get them out of the rookie contract because of how much money it takes to resign them and it would be investing too much at one position. Interestingly enough that is one position I think they can play a long time too
Ok I will restate because I think people don't want my overdramatazation. Mayfield is a good player but I don't see much more promise than Allen or Darnold. Cleveland is being hyped up and for the most part it is because they think they have a great QB. The defense hasn't changed and neither has much of the offense aside from a very good Odell. The bar is very low in Cleveland because of back to back horrid seasons.
Seriously everything has been how Mayfield and the Browns are going to go for a Super Bowl run. As far as I'm concerned The Jets and Browns weren't much better than the Bills last year and the QB situation is similar. As far as Brady is concerned yes I made up the fact about Brady himself but they act like he is the best player in the league when they talk about him. Half a year doesn't prove that.
So why is Darnold and Rosen higher? Also why do they keep beating the drum that Mayfield is the second coming of Brady? It's easy journalism to find the big market and give them some hope.
That's what I am thinking. We loaded up and will start trading to get more draft picks for next year. It's better than how we have been getting screwed for the compensatory formula the past few years
I bet at least 2 of our "cut" linemen will sign with someone else. I don't think we have 5 pro bowlers on the line but it is deep in NFL talent which most teams do not have.
Russell Bodine
Mitch Morse
Spencer Long
Ike Boettger
Wyatt Teller
Jon Feliciano
Quinton Spain
Jeremiah Sirles
Dion Dawkins
Cody Ford
Ty Nsekhe
Conor McDermott
LaAdrian Waddle
Vladmir Ducasse
14 players and curious how this is going to play out. I bet we cut some very good linemen.
I don't buy this at all. They don't know if he is going to last and conventional wisdom says have your top 9 guys in order and one of them will fall into your lap. I could understand locking in on a player if you were top 3 but we are too far down.
