  1. because those private companies are juggernauts and everyone knows it i see the baker example used. if bakers owned multi billion/trillion dollar companies and used there power and influence IN TADEM to crush or absorb up and coming bakers with a clear agenda to stop anyone from baking a gay cake. with the bonus of having special governmental provisions no one else has. then we can compare the two. way to many monopolies in this country. our leadership keeps conviently forgetting capitalism's history and why anti monopoly laws exist. too big to fail is the new excuse to rape the treasury and american worker.
  2. right wasn't pointing at you directly man. it seemed like there was a dog pile for the narrative that i was speaking about. intertwine all that with peoples need to rush to judgment the moment a story is out and having to much ego to rethink there original ideas as being wrong when more facts emerge. its a powder keg. its not looking good for the critical thinkers.
  3. you also cannot just look at one set of datapoints and say case closed. not saying you personally. i dont know. but many are. disparity. a higher percentage of blacks are killed by police. case closed. racism. but when the same percentages are used to show a certain race is at a higher percentage to commit violent crimes, the disparity is given a excuse. even though that leads directly to a higher percentage of interactions between the two groups in the first place. so blacks are at a higher percentage of being killed by cops but also at a higher percentage of killing cops themselves https://ucr.fbi.gov/leoka/2019/tables/table-42.xls this is a important point! as it leads to both sides interacting with each other knowing it can be a more dangerous encounter because statistically it is. bias unconcious whatever the factor when your life is on the line it will not be ignored.saying stop thinking that way to only one side is not a solution. my issue is the second half of the story and percentage ive shown is VERY hard to find and labeled racist if you do! the media is saturating the public with the first half only and burying the second so people don't even concider it or even worse know very well but excuse it. there isn't any honesty about the facts or anger towards the manipulation we all are being overloaded with noone cares about honesty. that's not how problems get fixed and unfortunatly society seem to be on a unstoppable path in the wrong direction. has anyone in here actually sat down and watched videos of police doing everyday stops being very professional and in a split second getting gunned down? same families left without loved ones as any other, regardless of race. thats part of this story as well!!
  4. ok fair enough just curious how many black groups have you been in? have you ever been a minority? i grew up on the eastside and can assure you racism is in every group. it teaches you to judge others as individuals. so then youll talk about power structure and police having it. yet SEVERAL of the incidents have black police chiefs and captains..i guess they are all for white supremacy as they instruct people where to go and what crime to fight. not to mention they attained this position to begin with. but they were fired...progress. we are going in the weeds. sorry the hockey team you play with is racist and im also sorry you believe a narrative that is highly exaggerated. i could go further but we are 4 years removed from a black man holding the highest office in this country, twice, and 0 from the second (woman). black people cannot achieve there goals and not be arrested do to racism, seems to be the overarching argument. many of my black friends and family must be outliers then. that's my experience at least. as for the cops doing the same to whites. yes im against police brutality in general...who isnt? asians lives matter, black lives, trans lives matter ,we are going towards all lives..just give it time.
  5. this isnt about police. its about psychology. because you dont see, hear about police interactions with whites you think it doesn't exist. because you constantly see "white man attacks", even in the headline without even reading you gain a perception. like i said statistics facts show otherwise. there are plenty of daniel shavers prob out there. yet not many given the same if any coverage...hmmmm
  6. so race being used in headlines only when the perpetrators white isnt mental conditioning? go ahead google search "black man attacks" see what pops up for headlines. it must think i meant attacked? honest mistake as that headline is hard to find, if you can. now "white man attacks" gee now google knows perfectly well what i mean. look at those headlines. your being gaslit. facts and statistics are there to discount all this headline bs and simple proof they are skewing everyone perception. this isn't just one channel man.
  7. that could be the case for many but you cant just write off the factors i stated. there are historic, never seen before numbers of illegal aliens pouring into this country and democrats dont seem to mind..period. certain states say yes please come we will protect you..promoting it further. regardless of trump i promise regular people want secure elections due to this..it has zero to do with trump or software. im glad your rational enough to not fall for the full on board propaganda "on steriods and such". but both sides have their zealots and that will never change. if you have a problem with the drop boxes #'s. thats perfectly fine. i heard you can vote absentee no questions asked. thats basically a solution to any dropbox issue but it requires standards to be secure. if you, the democrats or anyone in community think the standards are restrictive or too high there is NOTHING stopping anyone from having campaign drives, fundraisers or outreach programs to help those achieve the standards such as IDs. instead there are threats, corporate interventions and inflated toxic accusations. this is from the self proclaimed, great uniter. you can litterally start right now. why is the solution always lower expectations and lower standards. instead of lets raise up communities to achieve them. dont have a id lets get you one and now you can also use it from other things your "restricted" from. this would be different if the hurdles were completely unreasonable asks. you can't look at the bill honestly and say that's true. without any bias involved i want secure elections..and could care less if trump anywhere near them. i want a standard that cannot be argued over and litigated EVERY 4 years...and yes the democrats routinely declare voter fraud as well. 2016 russia anyone? so in order for this to end there has to be COMPROMISE. maybe the republicans need to sit back at the table to fine tune things, but that was not in any democrat response. just a overblown overreaction which is all we can ever expect from american politics and the loudest folks on any website.
  8. do some of the "restrictions" have nothing to do with fraud or trump but a natural pullback from concessions made to promote voting during a pandemic? serious question as i don't know Georgia laws before or after in regard to covid. as for another element that goes beyond trump. you have a historic amount of illegals crossing into the US, a president who seems to have encouraged and promoted this crisis and states that have openly stated they disregard US law to provide "sanctuary". these are real factors that would lead a public to want tighter election security for ALL states by americans.
  9. so you illegally drove. you are ray lewis accomplice and you want fraudulent elections. lol im just kidding. yes losing your id will make you SOL in alot of circumstances but what about the question i posed. is it really asking to much when democrats could simply help those who want to vote..and also give them a valid ID they previously did not have for anything else. seems like alot of hoopla and excuses for the simple act of securing elections without any republican excuse if they lose. win win win yet still is fought like its armageddon.
  10. so getting a job took you for your word without needing a ID verification..for 7 years? cashed checks? rented housing? ect ect? thats a very trusting environment. also a environment ripe for fraud. you worked a valet service..without a licence? or this was later? if you lived there then i guess ill believe their social net is not that good. it doesnt really change the fact that democrat and community organizations can help people obtain them then. ill pose this question since it was unanswered before. democrats want everyone to have the right to vote. republicans want more secure elections. at least that's the glossy overcoat they give. democrats can help people obtain IDs. what do you want republicans to do to secure elections as a basic ask for ID is fought tooth in nail..and of coarse "racism" is called. is it really too much? do you not feel any concessions should be made to 1/2 the country that want this. side note, i hope you weren't valeting lewis that night. you may have just admitted to being a unknowing accomplice. 😁
  11. do you live there? chef jim answered like he does and stated differently. as to how you feel things should be done.we all have opinions. the question is it unreasonable? im not hearing anything so far that leads me to believe that. cant put in alittle extra effort for security purposes then i guess its not that important. there are numerous things ID is required for in society and somehow this is the only one that has people up in arms about.
  12. so your positive that there are no resources to help those that want a voter id obtain one? there's a number to call that says they will help in that instance. as for going in "day of" and expecting a voter id ready and waiting..lots of time in between elections. lots of money dumped into campaigns to offset any hardships for vets or others who truley want to vote but cannot. i grew up and live in the city. i know plenty of people down on their luck that need help including family. they seem to get what they need ID requirements and all. they get section 8, food stamps, phone, FREE bus passes. it might be your bias thinking they cannot accomplish these things or maybe georgia social net is drastically different? you continually seem to have low expectations that people cannot accomplish things if there is a condition that any effort on their end must be made. from everything I've seen, its not true.
  13. first id like to thank you for your well thought out response. its what people need to do now adays instead of the typical deflections and insults. my basic point about your friend is that she had to identify herself many times to get to the level of which you speak. for each example you seem to suggest, well she had to identify herself..but in a different way, its not "restrictive" like GA. i could easily take your position on the general premise of your arguments. she needed parents or bills or other forms of id to get vaccinated. your link on how many people do not have a bank account could easily also be a link on how alot of people are not in touch with their parents. dont put utilities in thier name. dont have social security cards ect ect. all the things that got her to being able to go to school or work in the first place. so is the school, clinic ect ect being restrictive to people who do not have those things? how low are we going when it comes to the standard of identifying oneself? there are homeless people who have mental illness out there but also have the god given right to vote. there is a line that can go up and down and the question to ask is Georgia somehow unfairly high? you use CO as your standard for how high it should be. thats fine, each state is different and creates thier own standard. NY has higher guidlines for gun ownership and i can just as easily talk about how NY is restrictive of my RIGHT to bear arms and is unjustly excluding poor people that cannot afford extra classes, concealed carry permits ect ect. anything that requires more money or effort, court cases aside. not allowing residents to protect themselves is restricting my rights! its pretty easy to play that card and use other state laws in comparison. whichever is higher then becomes the one who is restrictive or as some say "racist". i think our sides have flipped yet i get no opportunity to own a gun if i am poor where georgians have other options, which you then say are too much. plain and simple. is GA asking for too much and purposefully excluding people of thier right to vote. i dont think so. the fact you have to find reasoning to exclude from the FREE ID offered while also bringing up the cost to the taxpayer is a pretty odd defense overall. at a time when the country is heavily divided and a election was a contentious as the last one, right or wrong. i will never be opposed to requiring more secure methods to prevent any accusations and anger as a concession as long as they ARE WITHIN REASON. nothing is stopping democrats from helping residents obtain a simple ID that the state is requesting for the next election. if thats to difficult a task for them I'm not sure what that means for them as a party seeing as multi millions are poured into campaigns every cycle. in return how do republicans help people with more secure elections? they have to create laws ahead of time. there is no action they can take like the democrats.
  14. i wonder how they would feel if americans went to canada and mexico in mass around election time and were able to vote for the person who was most pro american. since eligibility is not a requirment we can even come right back when we got who we wanted no questions asked. good old american imperialism.
  15. sorry to jump in the conversation but its incredable how little people think can be accomplished by others. your friend in school how did she obtain a student id? did she need to prove who she was to get into school first? did she have to get vaccinations as is required? how did the doctor admit her for those? rent a apartment out there? work full or part time. ect ect. so many levels of self identification to get her to the point you speak of. next argument. everyone has a god given right to vote. are you ok with republicans handing out guns? its litterally in our bill of rights..no id required, thanks to your logic. ill assume that's a no. the standards changed now? why? right are rights and you have a strict standard for only one. i know its america and we expect everything as convienent as humanly possable with amazon, drive thru, netflix but politics..yeah a basic hurdle or two is a not a bad thing. showing some incentive and competancy by doing the bare minimum by simply proving your a legal citizen that resides where you vote shouldn't be a argument from anyone. at this point you don't have to leave your house, vote absentee. you don't have to take off work, weekends and hours are open. georgia even offers a free id! if you can identify yourself to obtain social services i really believe that people can achieve a voters ID. so you have to really ask yourself what your fighting for here and why your willing to set the bar at its lowest possible height for people to make the most important decision in this country. if your honest, its because you want a side to have a advantage. democrats can easily help people obtain a ID if that is truley a issue. voting drives and campaigns are common where staff can help..i promise. then none of this matters to either side. why isn't that in the conversation? i think critical thinking americans know the answer to that.
  16. from what i can gather. biden said theres a eagle named jim involved. i think hes building a nest with peoples voter ids. baseball players killed jims cousin and are fearing his revenge so staying the hell out of georgia. jim has not forgotten your all caught up.
  17. i mention this a few times on this board but i grew up on buffalos east side, attended inner city schools and was a lifelong Democrat. ive been a minority in countless situations and have been in fights more times then i can count simply due to the color of my skin. racists are simply people that want to judge, segragate and attack others as a group and avoid treating people as individuals. so i litteraly fought against racists and am now told i am the racist simply by my skin? yeah, not happening. also not confused by the new packaging it is in. ill just keep fighting i guess. there are good people and bad people in every community. although ive faced bigotry i also have made a tons of friendships with people from every walk of life, culture and background. not aquintances or coworkers. true childhood lasting friendships where our families come together in both celebrations and tragedies. the people most susceptible to this CRT garbage are mostly the ones who grew up in segragated communities. this society had better realise how destructive it is and how it has been used in the past. judging others on the content of character and not color of skin will always be the standard i live by. equality by bringing those up, not pushing people down. but wait, i have been privlaged all my life without knowing it. white privlage. where was it? this mystical unseen force was not around to pay my wages when the only companies that accepted me were low. nowhere in keeping me out of dealings with police, fyi a young white persons only reason to drive in MY NEIGHBORHOOD is to buy drugs..i guess, so i was MORE of a target. nowhere to give me some extra white help when i finally got tired of looking in the (general) section of the job listings and changed those searches by attending and completing college. fyi there are alot of grants for specific people that i could not apply for. nowhere to be found for this generational wealth that was to be inherited to me from divorced parents who had hard enough time keeping a roof over my head. if you have benefitted from this privalege commodity and feel guilty, by all means give it away to someone who has not. i started from nothing and their twitter/message board rantings about how everyone with my skin is well off is pretty boastful and self indulgent. why are they condemning others as they type on a high priced phones or computers in a nice house with the very wealth they claim was not earned. i wish they would just give it all to someone who did not have this advantage and relieve themselves. alot of talking and condemning but not alot of becoming the positive change they ask of others.
  18. you say its a no brainer. im not sure that's true. if your putting it into the context of arrest then, yes. the man showed zero signs of being a threat. that may not have been the case if looked at differently. what is the protocol for someone who is exhibiting a medical issue such as a seizures and such? im not trained enough to answer but you cant discount the foaming at the mouth and delirium exhibited as he became panicked, asked to be removed from the car and placed on the ground for no reason. i know certain types of conditions you want to restrain as much as possable. for example. i know a woman who had a stroke where she bit off a good portion of her tongue in the episode and another that must be under constant watch with epilepsy as any moment could lead to her severely injuring herself from the violence of the shaking. their training did include this...for what purpose? to subdue a criminal or as a response to a medical event while waiting for ambulance to arrive. and even if it was a medical tactic what must someone exhibit first? it doesn't hold much water as i very much doubt it should even be considered if there is a issue breathing! none the less, if the defense shows instances where this tactic was used to prevent injury like the examples given and give reasoning they thought this was the case one could argue the police thought this was a proper response.
  19. the fact you had the need to find a picture like this to post to this board is hilarious. how many did you find and "investigate" before you landed on this one to share with the rest of us? what was it that caught your eye? im not judging, people like different things, tell your truth. 🤣😂😅
  20. because a entire summer many lives were lost, people injured and property destroyed in the pursuit of declaring black lives matter. while it is a conservative talking point, it is a liberal NON talking point from the very people who championed that black victims went unnoticed and recieved no justice. its hypocracy at its worst. if i lived in the inner city of chicago and especially if gang/gun violence has effected me or my family directly and i lived in fear. conservative, liberal, libertarian, communist? by all means bring the issue of the violence of my city to the forefront... or routinley bury it like your attempting yeah they work great. its everyone elses fault. everyone should base their laws off other states. i mean letter grades were given. case closed! if there are higher murder rates then focus on them. please. ignore. this. issue. because there are others. thanks. first off vox. the blaze told me chicago is all the fault of chicago so i guess propaganda wise its a wash. but yes indiana is the real problem here. forget the fact that this entire argument is saying criminals are obtaining weopons by going to great lengths and by any means necessary. its a great idea to make more laws to surrounding states that criminals won't obey anyways. what is this for? there are senators from both sides with lower murder rates. why would anyone care about the higher rates? this is a dont look at chicago, look over there again. id say your trying hard to avoid the topic but cut pasting links is not really effort. so in general stop talking about chicago! gaawd. look at all this evidence i shown to accomplish this. its clearly everyone elses fault! other people are being murdered outside of chicago. what more do you need to ignore the community living in terror of constant year in year out violence? the end.
  21. semi simply means, after you chamber a round no other action is needed except pulling the trigger to fire a second shot. this covers most rifles handguns, including revolvers, so if your removing them from the country, you cannot have them for home defense, unless your including a exemption. one of the most brutal mass shootings was the VA tech massacre where the killer used handguns. there is no easy solution and as been pointed out in this thread removing a certain type will only lead to evil people using a different type or illegally obtaining them. 3d printer can now create fully functional guns. there is no stopping their creation, import or manufacturing. there is a flip to gun ownership as well that no one ever conciders. the stories of heroic citizens PREVENTING these seem to not enter the discussion of prevention options. police officers are not the only humans that can properly defend others. giving the good guys a chance to defend themselves and others should at least be in the discussion. here are some instances. https://www.foxnews.com/us/texas-church-shooting-not-the-first-time-a-good-guy-with-gun-takes-down-mass-shooter god forbid if i was in the situation, i would much rather be able to defend myself and others rather then having no option and simply hoping the police arrive before the killer notices myself as another helpless victim. wondering how this evil person obtained a illegal gun that should have been prevented by s law is not going to be entering my head. wondering why i am defenseless certainly will. so im in the camp we need more citizens who are well trained and have proven to have no issues with the law to be allowed to carry in public. a training program were those who qualify can hold the honor of being a public defenders while also holding ordinary gun owners to a higher standard with more extensively examined background checks. too many home accidents and people who do not understand the responsability that comes from owning a firearm out there. maybe that's as foolish as expecting more control to provide safety but its a side that only expects gun owners to take more a role in their communities safety while also weeding out those that make us look foolish with their negligence or intent pretty well known with huge red flags examined only in hindsight.
  22. your wrong. auto is military. offense and defensive. that is already banned. you seem to want to ban semi auto as well. so there are specific guns for specific uses. you want bolt action for home defense, simply putting people at a major disadvantage in a home invasion break in. defense. like i was asking. so again what is it you want? gun setting, auto, mag limits, attachments/bump stocks silencers ect are illegal in the country or some version in states that have highest gun crime. there is zero idea of people "allowing anyone to carry any gun they want", that's never been a alternative. you need to look into this and learn more before you take a stance on others rights. states and needs are vastly different. one size will not fit all and federally they are suggesting it works like this. you should be specific, banning "assault" weopons seriously means nothing! yet that what is spit out with people believing there is a big difference in weopons that have wooden stocks and such even though they fire the exact same round in the exact same way..but look less intimidating.
  23. to have a debate you should be knowledgeable of what it is your debating to a degree. what is? military powerful weapons in the assault range? it would be a good start to define a broad statement like that since it is meaningless to people that have knowledge. im not a expert at all but a basic knowledge is a good start and the definition you gave above kinda shows you should look into what it is your even asking for. id start with the difference between what is auto and semi auto and which weapons can have these options. that may be what you want banned, if not what is it you even want? evil people to stop doing evil things or a ban on most every gun you can select including hand guns that you seem to think are a better option.
  24. there is not a single person from any side i ever seen that doesn't think this crime was wrong. there is no divide on this. when it comes to stopping it i gave pretty in depth response into why parsing it is necessary. to be preventive means finding the reasoning instead of reactive after it happens. maybe I'm wrong but I'm interested to know why. i won't press the subject further as you ignored my comment. maybe I'm blocked from our last exchange, either way, i hope you come around.
