  1. You claimed he was "gawd-awful" enough to make a bet that he'd be replaced by Nate friggin Peterman by the end of the year. But keep backtracking
  2. Okay, I want to point something very simple out to you. These are Taylor's numbers when trailing in games this year: 96 ATT 66 COMP 68.8 % 679 Yards 7.1 AVG 44 Long 5 TD 1 INT 101.9 Rating His 101.9 Passer Rating is the 6th best in the NFL. And before you accuse him of minimal attempts compared to the rest of NFL QBs, that might be true on the whole, but not so much when trailing. He has a dozen more attempts than Watson does when trailing, for example, even though Watson averages more attempts per game than Taylor. Actually, I was curious so I went and checked through the play-by-plays to track and compare how many minutes we've been trailing as a team and what I found is I think an interesting display of both Taylor's value and our offensive approach. Buffalo has only trailed about 35% of all the 400 minutes of football they've played. In that 35% of those 400 minutes, Taylor has attempted 49% of all his attempts, completed 53% of all his completions for 51% of all his yards and 62.5% of all his TDs. It's like McDermott wants Taylor to be like a burner on a gas stove, when you need to heat up adjust quickly to higher heat and once you get what you're cooking to the temperature you want turn it down and let it simmer, but watch it and be ready to turn it back up if you need to. You can look at his total yardage if you want and see that he got significantly less than Carr did and call Carr a better QB because of that, but it's a ludicrous argument to make. Taylor's getting his yards when they're most needed right now. And it's working.
  3. I'm not really paying attention to the sports shows or anything, but I hope this is drawing some national attention. It's stuff like this that are the reasons kids start playing sports in the first place. Football is the purest team game I think there is and that play just really exemplifies that and I absolutely love what McDermott is doing.
  4. McDermott really seems like a special coach. That won't necessarily translate to a Super Bowl or playoffs, but I'm really glad we have him as our coach And I love that he's immersing himself in the fan culture, too
  5. Regardless, hope you're ready to get your avatar changed to some big ole Tyrod lovin image
  6. Yep... this is what's irritating about this entire conversation about Taylor is that some people are living in Fantasy land... pun intended
  7. Here's an update on Taylor's numbers when trailing: 96 ATT 66 COMP 68.8 % 679 Yards 7.1 AVG 44 Long 5 TD 1 INT 101.9 Rating I was curious so I just went and checked through the play-by-plays to track and compare how many minutes we've been trailing as a team and what I found is I think an interesting display of both Taylor's value and our offensive approach. 8. I'm just glad most people seem to realize the whole "YARDZZ!!!!" argument is just stupid when it comes to this QB and this team.
  9. How do you know we're having a very different conversation?
  10. Pretty impressive. Is that updated to include today's game? Well I did say that it's "still TBD"
  11. 8 passing TDs, 1 rushing TD, 2 turnovers, team is 5-2. Have you ever considered that maybe if the rest of this year plays out similarly to how it's been playing so far that McBeane might actually identify Taylor as our Franchise QB? The thing I've been impressed with is that Taylor hasn't been asked to carry the team or put the team on his back unless absolutely necessary, and when it is, he delivers. I can't look up Taylor's passing splits at the moment, but I'm pretty sure they would be pretty impressive in the "passing when trailing" category. It's possible that's McDermott's ideal game plan as opposed to chucking it all over the field. Taylor might just be an unconventional Franchise QB, but a Franchise QB nonetheless. Still TBD, though.
  12. I watched without sound and after the Bills only challenge I thought we won the challenge based on McDermott's reaction and Del Rio's stoicism
  13. I was worried into the 4th
  14. There are legitimately people who are going to look at Derek Carr's stat line and be impressed. People are idiots. All these arguments about us being the worst passing offense in the NFL and Taylor being a handicap are ridiculous. We just don't pass very much at all when we have a lead. 17 passes in the first half without the lead. 10 passes in the 2nd half with the lead.
  15. Choo choo!!!!! Let's keep this playoff train rolling baby!!!!
  16. You're right. 54 TDs and 17 turnovers. Still better than a 3:1 TD to turnover ratio
  17. This is satirical, right? If it's not, it's pretty obvious that Boldin signed a contract to play with Buffalo, decided to conveniently "retire to pursue social activism" immediately after the team traded away arguably its most lethal offensive weapon and resembled a team going down the tank path and now suddenly (and again, rather conveniently) wants back in. He's still under contract with the Bills. So again I ask, is this thread satirical?
  18. Boy oh boy, stick with statistics. Posting stuff that ranks him anywhere from 7th-19th and you think I'm calling him an All-Pro. Read the post you directly refer to and you'll see that it's not about how good he is but about how bad he clearly isn't. And you didn't say Peterman "might" start. You said you think he "will." You can be wrong, too, ya know
  19. Soooo... What exactly is my argument? And what is the point I'm proving? PS: You actually think this was because I thought I was losing an argument that had to do with the Bills believing Peterman, A fifth round rookie who has literally done absolutely nothing in the NFL, is a better option at QB than Taylor next year?
  20. What? Suddenly we're talking statistics? Indy, we're talking around each other at this point.
  21. How would you know if you don't even know what they are? I'll say this, you (and others) may not appreciate my consistent posting about Taylor, but when I have a conversation with someone, I'll actually read everything they say and click on links if there are any before I counter any of their arguments. This was probably just a momentary lapse for you, but it's not a good look.
  22. Here's a nice breakdown of one of Taylor's throws http://www.cover1.net/filmroom-breakdown-week-7/ There are a bunch of things I love about this play. Let’s first talk about the great timing and placement of this pass. This is a very tight window, especially for a guy who hasn’t shown the ability to pull the trigger on a lot of throws like this. Taylor does an excellent job identifying the rotating safety. Pre-snap, Tampa Bay was showing a 2-high safety, cover 4 look, but right at the snap of the ball the safety on the left hash squats, while his counterpart bails for his deep middle responsibility. The read on this play actually becomes the middle linebacker Kwon Alexander, who you can clearly see Taylor immediately look to at the snap. Jones preoccupies Alexander just long enough to open up that window. Brent Grimes makes a really nice play on the ball; you can tell he had his eyes in the backfield the entire play. So, considering he [Taylor] made a great read and threw a perfect ball that escaped a corner ditching his zone to make an aggressive play on the ball having read Taylor the whole way, this is terrific execution. Taylor really does make this play look easy, but there is so much to like about his ability to read and diagnose the coverage, finding his read key, and throwing accurately to a brief window in the secondary. These are the sorts of plays Taylor will need to continue making to keep this offense trending upward, but this has to give you hope that there might be some passing ability in there that Rick Dennison is tapping into.
