What the hell kind of an answer is that to the question he asked? Why did you only include the people who said we wouldn't make the playoffs when in your very own thread there are a good number who say we will? Great points! I think one thing folks over look there's the fact that our two losses came against two of the top five defenses (both overall and passing specifically) and they were both on the opponent's home turf where the defense for the home team gets the greatest advantage while the opposing offense is at its greatest disadvantage.

There isn't one. You would be "Bills lose OR Taylor under 225" It's a safer bet. You in for that option? Okay so that means you're in...? Awesome Gugny. You guys are such sourpusses. I explained the 225 reasoning in the OP. Is that just a prediction or are you in? Soooooo... you're in? Because no one would take the over on 300 and legitimately think Taylor will get that against the Bucs unless they're insane! 225 would be the most passing yards of 2017 for Taylor. That's why I chose that number.

Just look what happens after a loss. It's amazing how the dialogue changes. We had a bad passing game against the Bengals, that's for sure. I actually think that given the bye week and our upcoming opponents, our passing game is going to dramatically improve in terms of production. I understand the lack of weapons on this team, but I think we find away and Taylor put up the most passing yards against the Bucs than he has all season. So, a fun bet (or a conversation starter, perhaps) for a 2nd time. I think there are kinda fun consequences. I'm going to put this out in a thread to see if there are any takers. If there are no takers, I guess no bet. But considering how absolutely so many posters here are so incredibly despondent after the Bengals game, I'll be surprised if there are no takers. It's simple, just say "I'm in for (Bills L OR Taylor under 225 yards) OR (Bills W and Taylor over 224 yards passing)" If you bet the Bills L OR Taylor under 225 yards, but the Bills Win AND Taylor passes for 225 yards or more- You agree that you won't say a single negative thing about the team as a whole, players on the team individually, coaches, etc on TBD all the way up until kickoff when we play the Raiders the following week. If you bet the Bills W and Taylor over 224 yards, but the Bills Lose OR Taylor passes for less than 200 yards- You agree that you won't say a single positive thing about the team as a whole, players on the team, individually, coaches, etc on TBD all the way up until kickoff when we play the Raiders the following week. No prodding or personally attacking the other side if they lose, we'll just all expect them to abide by the terms of the bet, which will only last a week. I'm in for the Bills W and Taylor over 224 yards. Need at least one poster to bet against that, but wouldn't this be so much more fun if all the prophets came out and really demonstrated how great they are at prophesizing? *note* I chose 224 yards because of the Jets game, which was his best game in terms of total passing yards. This is purely yards in the air. We are not doing net passing yards, which subtracts sack yardage lost, mainly because I don't think you can fairly do that and not add back in scramble yardage gained. No it's really not. Not for a defensive minded HC. I heard 2 separate interviews from Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcels about QB play and what they look for in QBs and (unprompted, mind you) BOTH of these HOF head coaches said is to protect the football and not turn the ball over. They even uttered the phrase "a punt is a good thing." If we had an offensive minded head coach, then maybe I would agree with you. But my bet is that one of the biggest reasons Taylor is still our starting QB under our defensive minded head coach Sean McDermott is because of how well he protects the football and doesn't turn it over so that our defense is allowed to keep our team in games and even win games for us. Does McDermott seem to you to care about offense of firepower? I think our team would've done a bit more to address our offense of weapons in the off-season if that were the case and wouldn't have traded away our most explosive offense of weapon. McDermott is thinking about the future but seeing that he can win right now with a team that is playing lights out defensively and the way you help that defense is by not killing them with multiple costly turnovers in games. So no, I'm sorry but I disagree. Protecting the football might be over blown in your eyes or any other random message board dude's eyes or any random football fan's eyes, but football coaches especially (defense oriented coaches) really value that trait.

Just thought your general hypocrisy was worth pointing out -
This thread is still going? What did the OP originally ask? How could a switch to Peterman be any worse? Well, Peterman could have a game like week one this year for Andy Dalton where Dalton through zero TDs and four INTs. or like Ryan Fitzpatrick in 2016 against the Chiefs where he threw zero TDs and six INTs or like Gino Smith against us a few years back when he threw eight passes total and had three interceptions. It can get worse. It can get a lot worse. You can bring in all the arguments you want about an ineffective offense, but I guarantee that McDermott would prefer a stagnant and even ineffective offense that protects the football and doesn't turn the ball over to an offense that takes chances and turns the ball over. We have a defense oriented head coach. That's what it is and the way things are. You guys want to have this conversation, that's fine. But it's pretty useless considering Peterman isn't going in there until were either out of the playoff hunt or Taylor is injured. And those of you who are wishing for an injury (and I know there are some of you who want Taylor to get hurt so that Peterman can be put in), you really assume an awful lot, like that you know a lot more than our head coach. We're winning games we were never supposed to win his way. It really looks like we have a shot at the playoffs with the way this team is playing and our schedule actually seems to soften up a little. Putting Peterman in and allowing him to be potentially exposed as he turns the ball over significantly more than the game managing Taylor is problematic for the way our head coach wants to win games. That's why Taylor remains in there and why Peterman won't see the field until the scenarios I said above. Now go ahead and wish for an injury, but shame on you. The rest of us are going to watch and root for the playoffs with Taylor at the helm.

Yes, so in typical TBD fashion we apparently must talk about the most recent game being the sole representation of what he is. Let's just disregard the good things that he did and the praises sung by even the anTy Taylor guys after 2 good games against 2 of the best teams in the NFL. Taylor's last 4 games were against the #1, #2, #4 and #10 defenses in the NFL. And maybe not surprisingly Taylor's 2 worst games came against the #2 and the #5 passing defense in the NFL Things are very very likely about to get much better for the offense. Of course, if the offense and specifically Taylor have a good game or two coming out of the bye, some of the posters dominating the conversation with all the negative crap over the bye week are going to hide in a cave until Taylor has a bad game. Aren't you guys just sick and tired of this already? We have a team that is a contender. They look like a good team and have been competing in every single game they've been in and I've probably had the toughest schedule in the NFL to start the season. With the inconsistency of the passing game in the first five games I don't think anyone really strongly believes that Taylor is our long-term answer. That doesn't mean we can't win with him at the helm and even make a run at the playoffs. Enjoy the ride

Same can even more easily be said for passing yards. -
Raiders, Dolphins, Browns and Jags vs Panthers, Broncos, Falcons and Bengals That's the difference in competition and particularly in the level of defenses played with the exception of the mutual game as the first game of the season. I think after the bye we are going to see Taylor's passing average go back up above 200 yards and the offense is going to look better. That was a murderers row to start the season in terms of competition. I'm glad I'm only in an out of here over our time up until the Bucs game because people are just being ridiculous with the way they're acting like the sky is falling for a team that is 3-2 and seriously exceeding expectations already. I legitimately expect our offense to come out from the bye and look a lot better than they have, despite our depleted WR corps and missing Clay. We've had a murderer's row of a schedule and have done exactly what a good team is supposed to do: protect your home turf and steal some on the road. this has been a pretty crappy bye in terms of posting on here. I'm generally staying away because people are so melancholy about this team, which is ridiculous to me. this has been a pretty crappy bye in terms of posting on here. We're 3-2 and I bet we've had one of the toughest schedules through 5 games and we have been close to winning even the games we've lost. -
Yes, I'm satisfied. Not excited. Not even happy. But satisfied, yes. I care about this football team winning this year. I don't want a rookie fifth round draft pick who the coach clearly doesn't think is ready and isn't looking at as our long term answer given all of his efforts to acquire draft picks for next year being thrown in just because of the "grass is always greener on the other side" mentality. We can and are winning with Taylor. It's a little funny to me because even you were praising him after Denver and Atlanta. How quickly we forget. I think it's becoming more and more and more and more clear that McDermott plans on drafting a QB in the first round in 2018. Fine by me and fine by the rest of us, I'm sure. But I want to see us continue to win and be competitive right now. So yes, I'm satisfied. Do I want better? Of course. Am I willing to risk taking some serious steps back just to see what we have in some fifth round draft pick? No, we win now and let Taylor ride this out and draft his replacement in 2018 if things continue as they are. It's that simple.
