  1. Maybe, maybe not. Right now hindsight is 20/20 regarding Tuel. But he played well and looked good in his time in the preseason and a lot people were singin praises of Tuel back in 2013.
  2. And again, I suspect they're holding back all the plays in this offense that are suited for Taylor's style. And I suspect those are the ones the team has been practicing and executing in TC. We haven't seen Taylor roll out even once. You think those aren't in the plans? Whether beneficial or not, I don't think Dennison/McDermott really want to show the wrinkles in this offense that they'll primarily implement that they believe will make this team the most effective. If we start the season and all or most of what we see in terms of offensive playcalling (which has centered around 3 step drops with Taylor under center) is what we've seen with Taylor in the preseason, then I suspect we'll see Peterman sooner rather than later because an offense centered on a QB under center taking 3 step drops primarily won't really work for Taylor. He needs to get deeper in the pocket, for one thing. It isn't really utilizing a lot of his strengths, for another. Agreed.
  3. Yes, because preseason is the primary evaluation tool for the coaches. Not those hours and hours and hours of practices they've had in TC And it's equally funny that you say Taylor's been "failing bad all preseason" when he looked pretty good in the 1st preseason game. So really, this is all based on 2 preseason games, 8 drives, and 21 pass attempts?!?! Do you really not see how absolutely preposterous it is to assume that these preseason games are the make or break of the evaluation for Taylor? If Taylor were failing, it would have been in TC and McDermott would be benching him based primarily on that, not 8 drives and 21 pass attempts with a sieve of an OL and all against the 1st string defense, unlike Peterman, who's TD drive everyone raves about to end the half was against the Ravens' 2nd string D and courtesy of a really dumb ST penalty right after a 3 and out with 3 straight passes by our young QB. I honestly thought after the Ravens game McDermott might have used the game as an opportunity to start to talk his way out of Taylor solidly being the starter, but he didn't... he made possibly the strongest statement all summer about Taylor being the #1 QB on the team. That says something. That doesn't mean I don't think Taylor will be on a short leash when he comes back healthy. It means that fans who believe preseason is the primary or even significant evaluator of the QB position in particular are a bit naïve.
  4. And regardless, we'r Do you honestly think that's what I meant? If you do, I apologize. I didn't remotely mean to imply that the plays that they're running aren't plays that are in the same system of the offense they're going to put on the field week 1, merely that what we've seen is such a small fraction of that system that it can hardly be called the same system. Understand now? I think you just like picking stupid fights. Too funny coming from a guy who CONSTANTLY posts statements about Tyrod as fact when they're merely you're opinion. On a side note, with your recent dramatic increase in posts, recently, you seem almost giddy with excitement over the current situation with our QBs. Weird.
  5. People who flip out about preseason are just ridiculous. Coaches evaluate more in TC practices than they do for these games for most players. Who cares? Less than 2 weeks!
  6. Didn't read whatever offended anybody, but I don't know why you'd root for a tank rather than a surprise season. I just think a lot of people don't expect a surprisingly good season so they console themselves with a terrible losing season by talking in jest about how terrible we'll be and by looking at all the great prospects we're likely to get in the draft next year. I'll be very upset with a losing season. But even I'll admit a losing season (especially a 4-12 or worse season) will be a LOT less painful than most other years simply because I think the future could look so bright as a result. But that doesn't mean I won't be rooting hard for 10-6 or better and playoffs! The football season is too short not to!
  7. No. I mean we're seeing the most absolutely vanilla version of Dennison's offense that exists... like only a fraction of the variety of types of wrinkles he plans on putting in there. Not 2 different offenses. We're just seeing maybe 10% of the offense we're gonna see during the regular season. That's what I suspect, but we find out in less than 2 weeks.
  8. Doubt we're really seeing the system we're going to see week 1.
  9. Fig, you were a bigger TT "homer" than me. You were predicting a breakout year for Taylor. I'm surprised (and a little disappointed) you and so many others are honestly putting so much stock in preseason. One thing I've learned over the years... who cares about preseason?! I don't think we've seen much of the offense Dennison has in store for week 1. Start overreacting after week 1. Who really cares right now?
  10. Yes. Anyone who disagrees with you is dumb. It must be so. Good talk
  11. He'll be ready for the season opener. Might be back practicing this week. Regardless, he will be on a fairly short leash.
  12. Fine. Even if it were one game, you're still conceding it's Taylor for that one game. So Taylor's your QB right now. I love that everyone is assuming he's going to stink up the joint.
  13. This is Taylor's team until he loses the job due to poor play, that simple. And he travelled with the team. All this talk today is just pretty twisted wishful thinking.
  14. Taylor's the right answer for week 1. Plus, ya know, McDermott stated pretty clearly that Taylor's the starter of the Bills. I'm a Bills fan, and so I'm pretty sure therefore Taylor's my QB. If he stinks up the joint for a few games, I'll be fine with a switch.
  15. What the hell are you talking about? Read what I've said. Stop attacking just to attack.
  16. I just don't get people. He looks like a rookie who might develop into something. He's made some good passes but probably should have had an interception and a fumble. 4 batted passes kinda ruins the narrative that it was all on Taylor with those. And Peterman has had several inaccurate passes, too. We're all going to (or should) root for whoever is under center Week 1, but unless Taylor's concussion is bad, Peterman hasn't done much to take the job.
  17. No. We've just seen tons of players who look like all stars in the preseason and do nothing afterwards. He doesn't even look half as good as Dak did last preseason, so I just think it's wise to pump the brakes. It matters in 2 weeks. I think he'll be a good long-term back up, probably.
  18. Yep. And EJ looked fantastic in the preseason. I'm just not putting much stock into this preseason. Can't wait until two weeks from tomorrow!
  19. Really worried about what you just mentioned (I noticed the staring down, too) combined with his arm strength.
  20. He does seem a better fit for the offense we've seen in the preseason, I agree. I just don't think this is the offense Dennison was planning on rolling out in week 1 with Taylor under center.
  21. No. You're just overreacting. He's doing good things at times, though. I could see him being named the starter with the situation as it now is. Sure hope our OL gets healthy.
  22. We might. I think McDermott and Beane have their reasoning for doing it with Taylor's injury. Sure hope Peterman becomes the next Brady if he does God I don't want to sit through another losing season.
