Culture sure as hell does matter a lot. Last year was a big culture shift and it just so happened to be the year we broke the longest playoff drought in sports. Do you think the Patriots don't have a certain culture all the long timers have bought into? Just because culture might trump strategy, that doesn't mean strategy doesn't matter a lot, too.

Bills Schedule Breakdown - So far & Moving forward
transplantbillsfan replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This season is just going to naturally be full of ebbs and flows. Everyone would have been ecstatic with a 2-2 record to start the season with the schedule we had. We're 1-3. That's okay. I expect us to go at least 2-2 in the next quarter and 3-1 is attainable. Back half of the season consists of 5 home games and 5 division games. Yes, we're still alive and fine. The season is just a work in progress. It's unfortunate McDermott fell for the Peterman mirage over the Summer because it took a lot of valuable reps away from Allen getting some chemistry with his OL and WRs. This thing is just gonna take time. Daboll needs to be a lot more creative than he was on Sunday. But considering the youth at the most important position on offense and the most important position on defense, I expect we'll probably see this pattern of 1 step back for every 1 or 2 steps forward we take throughout the year. But yes, playoffs are still very much within reach. -
Peterman vs Tuel
transplantbillsfan replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did you feel the need to start this thread because your ridiculous "who should start next week?" poll/thread got quickly locked down for its stupidity? Who even cares at this point about Tuel or Peterman. One player isn't on our team. The other might as well be a Ghost. I think at this point keeping Peterman as the sole backup simply serves the purpose of fans giving Allen a much longer leash than he might have if we had any remotely capable backup QB. Fans might see Allen have a bad home game and be much more hesitant to boo him because... OH CRAP!!! LOOK AT THE ALTERNATIVE!!!! -
That might be the case. This might be an isolated instant. But I distinctly remember one of those 3rd and shorts where Allen was holding onto the ball for awhile and was sacked and the replay showed from above that all the WRs but one were running like 15+ yards past the LOS. I didn't pay for Game Pass this year and I'm just curious if YPP or Cover-1 are identifying that play as being poor play design by Daboll.

Can someone find the 3rd down play that was like a 3rd and 4 or something and he got sacked and then the broadcast showed the bird's eye view of the play and there were 3 routes that were like 20+ yards down the field and only ONE short route. Allen had time to deliver a short pass for a 1st down play on that route and as I watched in real time I was pissed he didn't throw it. But then they showed the bird's eye view on the replay and it was obviously a coverage sack and a really, really poor play call by Daboll, who should have had more quick, short timing routes in the game as a whole, but particularly on a 3rd and short like that.

FIRE Daboll ASAP
transplantbillsfan replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This post is nearly the equivalent of the idiotic Bills fan sitting across from me in the bar today saying he was going to start a petition this week to start Peterman. Wait.... no.... I'm sorry.... As dumb as this post is--and it's dumb--the guy who said to start Peterman was MUCH dumber. -
What would Bills record be if AJ was qb?

0-4 AJ wasn't very good. -

Will the Bills ruin Josh Allen?
transplantbillsfan replied to Foreigner's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree that a QB can't be ruined. There are tons of factors that go into the development of a QB that has nothing to do with the QB himself. That said, I don't think it happens with Allen because I think McDermott is going to do as good as he possibly can to mitigate all the other circumstances... and as much as some of his moves and decisions have been a bit suspect, I generally trust McDermott. -
Will the Bills ruin Josh Allen?
transplantbillsfan replied to Foreigner's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Look on the bright side, if Allen keeps his composure and can make it through the year guiding us to some wins and improvements, there's nearly no doubt he has the mental, emotional and physical makeup to be our Franchise QB Of course he can be ruined. Happpened to David Carr. I think it's going to take a helluva lot more than a few games in a season for that, though. I also think he's stronger than Carr was and the rules favor the offense and QB more. As for ruining him, McDermott and Daboll are responsible for making sure that doesn't happen. -
Bills vs. Packers Post Game Thread

I thought there were multiple blatant holds the refs didn’t call the Packers on today. Officiating favors the victor, I guess. -
Q: for the outraged:

Me too. This is clearly a team discovering themselves. -
Q: for the outraged:

Our next 4 games are the Titans, Texans, Colts and Patriots on MNF. I think 2-2 at least happens there, maybe better. Back half of the season is 5 home games. This season is going to consist of a lot of ebbing and flowing with some of the young guys at critical positions we have. -

I still think we get into the playoffs. -
Q: for the outraged:
transplantbillsfan replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No one should be outraged. 2-2 in our first 4 games to start the season would have been impressive given our schedule. 1-3 is just fine as we move into the easier portion of the season. -
Is Allen the Starting QB No Matter What?
transplantbillsfan replied to Billsfanatic8989's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. All season. Barring injury. Period. Starting Peterman at all was one of the dumbest moves in NFL history. And McDermott has done it multiple times. It's baffling that so many fell for the mirage of preseason... TWICE!!! Allen's our QB. God I hope he doesn't get injured ? -

McDermott not pleased with WRs in practice
transplantbillsfan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our WRs have been terrible through 3 games. Foster, KB and Clay each dropped 1 or 2 passes in the Vikings game alone. Very disappointing because I thought they couldn't get worse from the last couple years. The good news is that they're getting open and Allen's getting them the ball. Now they need to learn how to catch.
