These opinions will be issued tomorrow (last day of court). I've been hanging out at the SCOTUS blog and have read some interesting takes on what might happen - the guesses seem to roll with Congress is told "no," NYS is told "yes." we shall see. If Congress wins, his tax records will be posted all over the free world. If NYS wins, his tax records will remain confidential (grand jury). If Trump wins (both) the records remain confidential.

The Little Sister's of the Poor won again. The Court has upheld the exemptions from the ACA's birth-control mandate for private employers with religious and moral objections. This case is a challenge to the 2017 rules issued by the Trump administration that expanded the exemption from Affordable Care Act’s birth-control mandate, which generally requires employers to provide their female employees with health insurance that includes access to certain forms of contraceptives. The rules expanded the exemption to allow private employers with religious or moral objections to the mandate to opt out of providing coverage. "We hold that the Departments had the authority to provide exemptions from the regulatory contraceptive requirements for employers with religious and conscientious objections." The vote is 7-2. My father is in a nursing home, and 17 weeks later there is no end in sight to their lock down. My mother has called everyone she can think of, and of course there is no response. This is cruel and unusual punishment for not only those in the nursing home, but for their families. Remember, some of these people are not candidates for a phone call, skype or facetime. The way my father's nursing home is doing doctor's visits is if the person leaves the facility, they must quarantine for 14 days. Needless to say, few are leaving - which will lead to more deaths. Cuomo will do nothing because he's already got thousands of deaths on his hands, and does not want more. There is heat from the first round he killed and he is terrified of the political implications of more elderly dying (yes, political implications, he does not give a rat's patooie about those people as people, he simply cares about his political wellbeing). There are not good answers to this problem. It is a shame Cuomo is showing no leadership whatsoever.

Adam Lovinger was the whistleblower that turned in Stefan Halper for taking huge DoD contracts to produce nothing. For his trouble, Lovinger was stripped of his security clearance for which he lost his job at DOD ONA. He was also prevented from taking a seat on the NSC, a position he was handpicked for by the incoming NSA, General Mike Flynn. Apparently, that is how we reward real whistleblowers. Here's the Adam S. Lovinger Whistleblower Reprisal Act of 2018. This bill expands protections for whistle-blowers against a security clearance action (e.g., revocation of a security clearance) made in retaliation for a protected disclosure. (It went nowhere under Nancy.) Here is a small crop of a larger interview he recently gave (which makes me think something is up... he's had his head down for a while). This is the whole interview (scroll past the beginning). My goodness does he dunk on the Obama administration and the deep state.
