  1. Joined earlier today and immediately jumped into PPP with stupidity... another sock puppet. Best to ignore s/he/x.
  2. Who thought that was a good idea? We had a condo association (and HOA over the community) on our Florida condo. It was rules on top of rules on top of rules. Never had one before anywhere, will refuse to buy anywhere that has one again. The "idea" behind it are fine, but all you need is one little HOA President with a Napoleon complex for things to go south, very quickly.
  3. I see people are starting to call him Joey Fingers. If that moniker takes, the "msm" will not be able to keep his ex-aides allegations on lock-down.
  4. This may be better suited to this thread: Trump administration rolls back Obama-era fuel efficiency standards The Trump administration on Tuesday rolled back an Obama-era law that pushes automakers to produce more fuel efficient vehicles, severely limiting a rule designed to decrease pollution from transportation in the face of climate change. The new rule cuts the year-over-year improvements expected from the auto industry, slashing standards that require automakers to produce fleets that average nearly 55 mpg by 2025. Instead, the Trump rule would bring that number down to about 40 mpg by 2026, bringing mileage below what automakers have said is possible for them to achieve. The Trump administration has argued that cutting Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards will allow automakers to produce cheaper cars, something they say will save 3,300 lives as lower prices spur consumers to upgrade to new vehicles with better safety features that guzzle less gas than older models. </snip>

  6. Went to Tops today. LOTS of limits per household, not per brand: 1 package of eggs (it was loaded) 1 Flour (it was sparse) 1 Bleach (it was wiped out) 2 Water (gallons/multipacks, it was loaded) 2 Milk (it was loaded) 2 Laundry Soaps (it had plenty, but not full) 2 Dish Soaps (it was wiped out) 2 Paper Towels (wiped out) 2 Facial Tissue (wiped out) 2 TP (none) 2 Cough and Cold (Hubby said there was plenty) 4 Cereal ( it was loaded) 4 Frozen Vegetables (it was loaded) 4 Pasta Sauce (it had plenty, but not full) And a buncha other stuff I didn't look at was also limited: disinfectant wipes (2), disinfectant sprays (2), hand sanitizer (2), rubbing alcohol (2), peanut butter (2), diapers (2), baby wipes (2) and a few more things in the meat department (large packs of chicken and 80%ground beef). I have no idea if this is for all Tops, or just the one where we went shopping. I took photos, but pretty much it was the laundry aisle was wiped out, and so was the tp/facial tissue/paper towel aisle.
  7. That's a lotta nos... Cuomo says ‘no’ when grilled by brother about possible presidential run
  8. A lot of people are saying that the hospitals are spreading it now. It is definitely possible. My son and his fiancée finished self-quarantine on Sunday, and she was immediately scheduled to work Sunday night (local hospital, she is a nurse). He made the decision not to go to family brunch on Easter because my mother (over 70) will be there. They have no idea what she will be bringing home to them, and what they could spread to her (and us).
  9. Well, that is simply awful! He should be drawn and quartered or at least placed in stocks in the village square. And, it goes without saying his company should be forced to close, and all his employees should be out of a job. Get a grip people. The man is a former homeless addict who found Jesus, runs a very successful company, and is willing to help American in its time of need.
  10. He said the word god. The horror!
  11. China PMI numbers I guess they figure if they are gonna lie, they may as well lie big. ?‍♀️ Pinocchio has got nuthin’ on the Chinese.
  12. They've been after the My Pillow Guy since forever. Hasn't worked before, don't think it will work now.
  13. The shutdown was the 23rd in Ontario, Ottawa was the 13th. Canada (as a country) did not shutdown early, although Ottawa did after Trump closed flights off from Europe on the 12th. My son flew in Pearson on the 13th, I flew into EWR on the 14th... the experiences were night and day on how much more seriously US took it than Canada at that point (I have a post in this thread about the experience). I flew into Pearson the beginning of February, and updated this post with what was going on with all the borders I crossed between January and March.
  14. On the bright side, he's still able to read.
  15. What? You mean you don't want an implant to be able to tell TPTB you are free of XY and Z?
  16. I believe the "cure" (such as it is) will be far worse than the disease. We are all going to get it unless there is a vaccine soon. That means we will all die {insert hair on fire gif} or develop immunity. ?‍♂️ While I understand the thoughts behind why the economy was crashed, I am not onboard with closing down the country's economy with the current knowledge available to the general citizenry. I am certain that makes me a bad person. The people most at risk may have wanted to hunker down (and yes, I know young people have contracted this... just like XX and YY have contracted every contagious disease known to man since the beginning of time), but to kill the economy? To discount future suicides? Mental depression? I donno. I am just glad I am not the one making the call. What does give me pause in my personal assessment, is what if we are not being told the rest of the story? That ¾ of the countries in this world (give or take a few) have closed their borders to other countries, makes me wonder what haven't TPTB told us? (And, considering the ridiculous toilet paper buying, maybe they were right to withhold information?)
  17. Link Workers at some Amazon facilities in New York City held a walk out Monday over the company's safety protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic, while employees at the grocery delivery service Instacart were considering a strike. "All employers need to prioritize the health and safety of their workforce at this time," said Stuart Appelbaum, president of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union. "Unfortunately, Amazon appears to be prioritizing maximizing its enormous profits even over its employees' safety, and that is unacceptable." Meanwhile, Instacart's gig workers, called "shoppers," say delivery service puts them at risk to coronavirus exposure and that the company should offer more protections, including hazard pay. "Basically, I'm playing Russian roulette every time I go out there, every time I shop, every time I come into a grocery store," employee Mia Kelly said. The in-store shoppers are demanding the company provide hand sanitizers and disinfectants, hazard pay of $5 per order, and an expansion to the current sick-pay policy. </snip>
