  1. You never know what goes on behind the scenes. Goodell could've promised him no Holiday games if he leads the charge to get this eyesore banned because horrible TV means less eyes in the long run. If you want to go the non cynical route, McDermott saw what happened in the NFC Championship and the Redskins keep trying to jump the count at the one yard line. It looked like an eye sore and you can see the potential for injury there with them trying to leap over lineman before the ball is even snapped. They could've easily went helmet to helmet with Hurts. The NFL has always been a reactive league so he's basically worried that if they don't ban it here will be a catastrophic injury on the play down the road. That's what it seemed like to me based on how he's answered the questions at the last owners meaning. Even though we benefit from the tush push.
  2. I really don't like anything gimmicky and it feels gimmicky. I have the same feeling about the new dynamic kickoff and even when they changed the extra point attempt from 20 to 33 yards. I think the mistake the NFL made was to try and ban the tush push after the Eagles won the Super Bowl. Maybe table it until next year. Even if it's an ugly play leading to bad TV, it still felt like you were punishing the Eagles for doing something so good that the rest of the league felt the need to banish it. Last off-season would've been the ideal time when they were awful down the stretch and the Bucs fleeced them in the WC game.
  3. I hope they focus only on the two roided guys Beane signed despite knowing about it.
  4. He wasn't at the meetings so I'm assuming he had someone fill in for him.
  5. Teams that have been on the training camp edition in the last eight years are exempt. That would've been my choice though.
  6. I'm just guessing here but the way I've seen stuff like this play out in the past is only those that don't meet the work requirements for government assistance are ineligible to receive SNAP Benefits if they have a dependent between the age of 8 to 18.
  7. RIP. Prayers to him and his family. Very popular owner with Colts fans. He was always praised for being a passionate fan but knowing to not meddle in any football decisions.
  8. If you go by the over/under preseason win total the teams that did Hard Knocks are 9-10-1 since its inception. No real impact.
  9. Say what you want about Stalin breadlines but "everybody ate."
  10. That was off-season Hard Knocks. The only interesting one since the Browns one where Hue Jackson brought Baker Mayfield in to congratulate him (the #1 pick) for winning the backup job. I think we'll be portrayed fine.
  11. No. It was the fricken Chiefs who won it that year. It's just an unnecessary distraction. I'll watch each episode pry twice.
  12. True. All coaches are like that though so I don't think it's "nothing." It will be cool to see some Bills content though.
  13. If it's not a distraction why does the NFL have to force a team to be on it?
  14. Nobody's perfect.
  15. What's the upside? All I see is downside because it's a distraction.
  16. Can't wait for McDermott's Pearl Harbor speech about the dedication of the Japanese Kamikaze pilots.
  17. No International games. No Holiday games. I knew it was too good to be true.
  18. This is good for us as it would've banned pushing the ball carrier which is what are o-line loves to do on a run play. Eagles can stop crying now too.
  19. I don't even think it's recency bias to say Mack Hollins. Just answer the darn question. Lol.
  20. Correct. Teams can assign two players each year with a post June 1st designation. It's also interesting to me that they didn't say take a pay cut or we're trading you (maybe not so bluntly). See how he looks and whether the rookies we drafted are ready. The two idiots that Beane signed who cheated complicates things and makes trading AJ or cutting Jones less likely. Last year the Bills started the season with 4 DT's (Oliver, Jones, Johnson, Carter) and six D-ends (Rousseau, Epenesa, Miller, Smoot, Soloman, and Toohill). I think they go 5 DT's and 5 DE's this year because of the two suspensions. DT - they pry be Jones, Oliver, Sanders, Carter, and Walker (who might be a healthy scratch because of his back issue). When the idiot DT gets back in week 7 my guess is that Carter will be the cut. Jones is definitely a possibility though. DE's would be Groot, Bosa, Jackson, Epenesa, and Solomon. When our idiot DE gets back in week 8 I'm guessing it's Soloman that gets the boot. This is of course assuming that none of these players on IR going into week 8. This may just work itself out naturally. I kind of miss the days where it was just keeping it simple with Mario, Dareus, K. Williams, and Hughes. I get the rationale behind the rotation but have never been a fan after seeing those four produce like they did in 2014.
  21. I don't know man. Quentin Johnston had better numbers than him last year. QUENTIN JOHNSTON!!!!!!!!!
  22. Since there's no tackling involved our defense would pry be really good at grabbing a flag.
  23. I have mixed feelings on Romo. He has a touch of John Madden in him with his general enthusiasm for the game. He's also decent at explaining exactly what happened on both sides of the ball after the play as far play run, blitzes, coverages, etc.. However, Romo salivates over the QB's too much. I'd hate Josh Allen because of Romo if I was a fan of another team. Always liked Nantz though and they have some decent chemistry. Basically the exact opposite of Michaels and Herbstreit. Yeah. I'm kind of baffled by the hatred too. He's basically Mr. Rogers in the broadcast booth. If you suck.
  24. Palmer's biggest knock on him coming out of college was his limited production. That continued in the NFL before Roman got there. Plus, McKonkey seemed fine in Roman's offense. I think Palmer is who he is at this point. I'd be happy if he's a slight upgrade over Hollins who should be able to get open against man better than Mack could.
