  1. Zeke contract killed them (Cook buyer's beware). Paying an above average QB elite money for the postion killed them. Not paying Parson's top of the market extension last year was just plain stupid. 5-12 is my prediction. They've been over-hyped since the turn of the century.
  2. Just looking at how the NFL navigated the COVID year was damn impressive. The fact that he got all those games in was a miracle imo.
  3. Fair point. I think it depends on the seriousness of the accusation. I didn't expect OJ Simpson to have a press conference following the murder accusations saying "yeah, I take full responsibility for murdering my wife and that waiter. I'll learn from it." If it's something as minor as this though I'd have more respect for a player if he just said, "Yup. Got injured and wanted to get back on the field as quick as possible because I only have a short time to build potentially generational wealth." I'd respect him more. Plus, it would be easier for him to sleep at night.
  4. There's also the "I take so much juice at once and so many masking agents I get confused so I just let my trainer take care of it and pray he doesn't screw up" approach. Either way, you look a hell of a lot better if you take full responsibility for it imo. Especially when there's no qualifiers in front of that statement.
  5. Peak off-season. Now I know what Larry Davis was obsessing about all week.
  6. I completely agree. That's why I said generational welfare dependency is a much more nuanced conversation that you articulated in the last paragraph rather than just the blanket statement of "if you're on SNAP then you're doing something wrong" just seemed cold and incorrect. The only good argument I've heard for raising the federal minimum wage is it prevents larger corporations from reaping the benefits of taxpayers subsidizing them in states where the federal minimum wage is also the state's minimum wage.
  7. Seemed like a really tight competition.
  8. Oh God. I give the marriage 10 months.
  9. Makes me think of the episode where he wouldn't commit to staying married "in eternity" when renewing wedding vows with his wife. What if he wants to date other people in heaven?
  10. Interesting. Higgins seems like their type of WR so it makes sense. I always saw Josh as a very visual QB who has to see WR's separating before throwing. His arm strength lets him get away with it. Brown, Beasley, and Diggs all fit that bill. I don't want to bury Coleman yet but I still just don't get the pick.
  11. I get where you're coming from now as generational welfare requires a much more nuanced discussion. Love the username by the way.
  12. I've seen many people fall into poverty after losing their job because of downsizing, have their husband or wife die on them, or a major illness or accident makes it impossible for them to work. These people do literally need SNAP to survive. If it wasn't for these benefits you'd have to have swat teams at every grocery store. Not many kids at 10 years old think when I grow up I want to become dependent on leaching off the government. That's not to say that their aren't people out there that are content and lazy living off the government teet, but I think that's overly stated by Republicans to win elections. You could look at it another way. There's an income threshold for those able to receive snap benefits or other types of welfare. This threshold means that people who work 40 hours a week at minimum federal wage will still be able to collect SNAP benefits. Places like McDonalds, Wal Mart, and Costco's continue to benefit off this because most of their employees make minimum wage or a little bit above. Looking at it from that angle taxpayers we are subsidizing these big companies because they don't pay enough for the average worker not to be eligible for SNAP benefits.
  13. Trump may actually think that as he's had that confusion since he was railing against Japan in the late 1980's. It's more the Republican sycophants that know this who turn a blind eye at best or perpetuate that lie at worst.
  14. True but that particular thread is way over the top which showed how enamored fans were with Diggs. Now they're trying to argue it was a bad trade because Beane should've had the foresight to see Justin Jefferson slip to #20? GTFO here with that nonsense.
  15. He pry doesn't because the narrative for Josh over Lamar is he did more with less. If Diggs was on the team you couldn't make as strong of an argument. Josh's best year was 2020 but Rodgers played out of his mind that year. It boggles my mind that people don't. Our offense went from 23rd in the league (26th passing) in 2019 to 2nd in the league (3rd in passing) with the only major additions on offense being Diggs and Daryl Williams.
  16. You can say that about any Buffalo Bill whoever played. I think you’re hatred for Diggs maybe clouding your judgement.
  17. So he traded a 1st round pick for a sure thing for a WR diva in AJ Brown who has given them three straight 1,000 yard seasons and has been instrumental in helping Hurts develop as a quarterback. Bright guy.
  18. Which is why you go for the sure thing instead of rolling the dice. Howie "best Gm of the league" Roseman took Jalen Reagor one pick before Jefferson.
  19. It was just an example of us giving up too early on a prospect. You're right in saying it isn't an apples to apples comparison.
  20. He could've just as easily picked Henry Ruggs or Jalen Rheagor if he moved up that far. Josh needed a veteran #1 WR to develop as a passer. Diggs was a better WR than everybody in that draft class besides Justin Jefferson in 2020. He tends to do that. That's why I'm not salivating over Elijah Moore or Josh Palmer right now. The majority of us were happy at the time.
  21. True and the reason 2020 sticks out is because teams weren't playing as much two high safeties as they are now. Plus, that was probably the best four WR's we've ever had in a season. Brady's offense is more of a run heavy matriculate the ball down the field type offense to combat that cover 2 shell coverage and screens are a big part of it. I get your point that his YAC is enhanced because he did receive the most screens behind only Shakir. That's why I find yards after contact per attempt also useful. Compared to a top 10 paid TE in the league in Knox, Kincaid averaged 2.61 yards after contact while Knox only averaged 1.5. Only George Kittle had more yards after contact than Kincaid as far as qualifying TE's go last year. Although, even then you had to figure a reason for that is he had more of a running start because of the number of quick screens he caught. I want to see the Bills attack the intermediate area of the field this year. I'm not sure if defenses didn't have enough respect for our outside WR's or it's a deficiency in Brady's play calling/scheme. I guess my overall point is last year was pry Kincaid's floor as a TE could be given his strengths at the position. I'd be shocked if it wasn't a rebound year for him.
  22. True but we're also the only team besides the Chiefs to reach at least the Divisional round five straight times since 2020.
  23. The flip side to that is the harder the journey the more satisfying the reward will be if we do win one.
  24. Beane didn't get that message calling into WGR. LOL. I'll qualify. Dumbest take that's been repeated over and over again over a five year period. Lol. There always seems to be a "who won the trade" argument no matter the transaction but I can't remember such a win win trade The dumbest take either on this board or the old board (don't remember) is someone said that Trent Edwards would've been just as successful as Brady in the Pats offensive system. Look at the thread when he signed. People were ecstatic. Diggs fooled us all.
