  1. He didn't forget. Anarumo had a great second half game plan. He only rushing three defenders from extremely light personnel with single high behind it allowing them to bracket Kelce and Hill. The confusion rattled Mahomes enough where he started to press and make decisions he usually didn't make. For some reason Reid didn't counter this by just running the ball.
  2. It was like asking Dale Earnhardt to win a race in a Prius. How do you think the Bengals made the Super Bowl in the 2021 season?
  3. They were so stupid to get rid of Lou Anarumo.
  4. It's a two way connection though and they know they have to make it work in order for the offense to be successful. In this analogy you'd have a guaranteed one year salary with the electrician and you'd have to keep giving him more shots to get the wiring right.
  5. I disagree about trading Higgins. Chase will still be on a relatively cheap contract given a player of his caliber for the next two years by extending him this offseason. He's making $36m (not $41)/year over the next five. My guess is they front loaded the Higgins contract and they'll be able to move on from him with not much dead money after two seasons if they wanted to. That's when Chase's cap hit will kick in. Even re-signing Hendrickson is doable if they choose. They have to work on strengthening their o-line and rebuilding their defense in the draft though. The main problem is the Bengals have drafted heavily on defense the last couple of years knowing that this was coming. Eight of their day one and two picks have been on the defense and only two on the offense. It's not looking good for their two first round defensive picks (Myles Murphy and Daxton Hill). DJ Turner and Cam-Taylor Britt have been mah at best. Jordan Battle initially played will at safety but he's somewhat regressed last year. Carter was a bust at DE and already traded. If their DT's drafted in the 2nd and 3rd last year don't work out then the middle of that defensive line is in trouble. On top of all that, they may have fired one of the best d-coordinators in the league because he was made the scapegoat of a defensive roster devoid of talent.
  6. Hurts isn't Burrow either. Even if they don't draft as well as the Eagles Burrow is in that elite QB tier that can cover a lot of warts on their roster.
  7. It matters less when you have two guys on the outside that can quickly get open. If you have two elite players up for new contracts in their mid 20's at a premium position you pay them. If you have a chance to trade for one without giving up significant draft compensation you do it. It's why I wanted the Bills to trade for Metcalf and that lack of a move I will always point to if we keep coming up short again of a Super Bowl with Allen in his prime. Our two best WR's are Shakir and Palmer? I guess. Maybe Coleman can magically learn to create separation this off-season? Pathetic job by Beane in never replacing Diggs.
  8. Even with a bad o-line their record is 21-10 when all three play (Burrow, Chase, Higgins).
  9. Higgins would've gotten more on the open market. They were a year too late on both of them imo. If the Bengals got the Chase deal done before Jefferson it would pry be about $32m per year and for Higgins it would've been about $21m per year.
  10. I was happy to see Eric Washington leave last year.
  11. I watched the presser but I'm a little more cynical about an athlete's public persona after my childhood hero allegedly murdered two people.
  12. Not sure but I'll never doubt that guy's work ethic. I wouldn't bet against him. Close to zero percent chance he plays here again but I could see him as a Cowboy or Patriot.
  13. I know Nick is cocky as hell and I'm sure Joey is too. Whatever. Get to the quarterback and you can steal money from a church collection basket for all I care.
  14. Thomas Sowell is pro free market and anti-tariff because he could do math. The fact that so many people follow this account and they post garbage like this is an insult to him.
  15. I didn't watch many Raiders games this year because they're the Raiders. Wilkins was the closest one to Oliver of the names mentioned but his production in Miami was better than Oliver's in Buffalo imo. Similar pressure rate but Wilkins was the better run defender. I'd take Oliver's contract over Wilkins though for sure.
  16. Or just throw Hasek in the net. I think it was '97-'98 when Donald Audette was our leading goal scorer with 20 something goals and we managed to reach the conference finals. The best year by a goalie I've ever seen. Also, it's an apples and oranges comparison when it comes to player development related to coaching in the NHL compared to the NFL.
  17. The problem is the backups in 2018 (Anderson, Barkley, Peterman) were way worse than Tyrod Taylor when Allen got hurt. A combined 1-5. Both are too small of a sample size. This is pry a lazy comparison but without Allen I could see McDermott being very close to what the Steelers have done since 2017. Just stuck in mediocrity with below average to mediocre QB's.
  18. The dirty Chiefs are the one's that proposed the rule change because they ruin everything. I think the players pry prefer it more than fans (besides Brady of course). In general though, people don't like to be confused and they don't like change. Both meet the criteria. From more players changing jersey numbers to the expansion of the positional number options.
  19. Just look at Simmons, Burns, and Wilkins's contracts compared to Oliver. Money talks.
  20. Judy from Buffalo doesn't do it for you?
  21. I understand Pro Bowl voting is the only way to include both the all pros and the very good players but I just can't stand how the voting works for it. Roger Saffold for example may have been the worst guard we started since Allen got here and he made the pro bowl that year. Just wish we had a better way of encompassing all the very good and elite players. Maybe?
  22. This is pry the main reason for a lot of good players but not many elite one's. Picking late in all the rounds every year hasn't exactly helped Beane acquire elite talent. I'm not absolving him of all responsibility (we could've had Metcalf twice now) but It's one of the downsides of missing the playoffs only once in eight years. Although, even when we had a top 10 pick (besides trading up for Allen) we chose Ed Oliver over D-lineman like Wilkins, Simmons, Lawrence, and Burns.
  23. I was wondering that. Do they include alternates in the pro bowl numbers?
