I would. I think Oliver has been the better player to this point in both of their careers. McGlinchey is an average starting tackle, a better run blocker than pass blocker, and got overpaid. There weren't a lot of good RT options available this offseason. Juwaan Taylor would've been my preferred target but not at 20 million a year like he got in KC.

I just think he's sick of coming up short every year and the honeymoon period with Josh is over until they win a Super Bowl. Even if he doesn't and leaves within the next couple of years he'll always be admired for my favorite TD celebration of all time....

I agree but some of its on him holding onto the ball too long to extend plays which often work out. It’s a double edged sword.

What’s up with Gambling int he NFL amongst NFL Players?
Doc Brown replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's pry the most logical conclusion of where this is heading. I don't know about banishment but a one year suspension. If you lose a lot in betting say a hockey game there has to be a temptation to maybe bet a football game you're playing in to get out of the hole you dug yourself into. -
I think all the positions are filled at this point. If you're talking about next year he should have no problem getting a defensive coordinator job if he wants it.

Bills offense last three years: 2020 - 2nd in points, 2nd in yards 2021 - 3rd in points, 5th in yards 2022 - 2nd in points, 2nd in yards Yet he lumps us in with the Steelers, Seahawks, Bears, and Chargers because they have defensive head coaches.

Former first round picks on our defensive line
Doc Brown replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall
Plus, you know, the guy we drafted in the first round. Shaq's career and perception among Bills fans is truly unique for an underwhelming Bills first round pick. Shane Ray too. Maybe we can pry Maybin away from his art career. -
I disagree that 5 of the 6 positions I said we improved at was just adding depth. I'd say we're now better at 6 of 7 starting positions I mentioned (TE2, LG, DT, DE, WR3, RB) with the signing of Floyd. I'll grant you that we only added depth at safety. Just simplifying for one on one comparisons with everyone else coming back at these positions.... Kincaid>Morris, McGovern>Saffold, Ford>Settle, Floyd>Basham, Harty>McKenzie, Harris>Singletary I understand your point that we're relying on veterans to regain their previous form and young players to play to their full potential at certain positions. However, what's the alternative? Who would you have drafted instead of Kincaid that would guarantee us a better player at a premier position? Jack Campbell was off the board. Who would you have signed at safety that would be an upgrade over Poyer? There's definitely a case to be made that it would've been smarter to re-sign Edmunds and let Oliver play out his final year of his contract. That's fair and I can see both sides to that argument. The problem I had with your post is the suggestion that Beane is tanking this season on purpose despite no evidence at all to suggest he is. There's nothing he's done this offseason that points to that even if you disagree with his team building approach.

Leave Huey out of this.

They could do that and then draft a WR next year with their top two WR's over 30. Gabe pry isn't getting an extension then and is a goner. My gut based on the way Beane's operated in the past tells me whatever money they save from the Dareus extension this year gets set aside for any in season moves they may want to make.
-
Thanks. LOL. His instagram posts tells me there was some frustration in him not getting the money he thought he should when they started negotiations.
-
No he didn't.

The Bills obviously don't share that concern. My biggest concern is he's rarely playing at 100% health. It's no coincidence his healthiest season (2021) was also his best. In OTA's where they can't even hit? The Bills have likely been looking to re-sign Edmunds as soon as they could this off-season. We know they were talking to his agent in early March based off Oliver's deleted instagram post.

Six upgraded position groups imo. Six that stayed the Same. One got worse. This is a really bad post and may be an overreaction to what you deem a bad extension. TE - (Kinkaid > Morris/Sweeney) IOL - (McGovern, Edwards, Torrence all better than Saffold). Morse and Bates returning. WR - (Harty/Scherfield > McKenzie/Kumerow) RB - (Harris/Murray > Singletary/D. Johnson). Even if you think it's a push Stevenson and Murray don't have the fumbling problems Singletary has. DT - upgraded (Poonah Ford > Tim Settle). Settle's still on the team but likely just a depth piece now who'll struggle to make the game time roster. S - upgraded (Taylor Rapp is better than any backup safety we had on the team last year). Stayed the same. - CB, OT, P, K, DE, QB Got worse - LB

He's currently the 16th highest paid DT at 15.75m a year. He'll be 18th after Wilkins and Williams gets their deal. It's about where he should be imo. My biggest concern is he gets lazy Dareus style but McBeane know his work habits much better than we do.
-
About where he should be at 16th in average annual value money wise among IDL at 15.75m with the price only going up. Don’t love it or hate it. He’s an above average three technique when healthy. Thought he was older than 25 so he’s got that going for him. I guess this puts the Ed Oliver trade rumors to rest.
-
Too high imo. The Super Bowl favorites in each conference have lower grades.
-
Say what you want about Ed Oliver. At least he's at OTA's.
-
They'll have to pay eventually one way or another.

I'm completely fine staying there as our roster is good enough right now to win a Super Bowl. I don't want to kick the can down the road any more unless a premier RT becomes unexpectedly available.
