If they stay at 9 I'm almost positive it'll be a DT/DE, simply because at that point in the round, the BPA is going to play one of those two positions. I like Ed Oliver a lot... but I also think they like Christian Wilkins from Clemson. Kid is most definitely a "process" guy, lot of experience, respected leader, non-stop motor, etc. And there's going to be some moving around within the top 10 picks so there's a real possibility that maybe one of these blue chip prospects falls to them at 9. I think they probably feel pretty good with where they're slotted and it'd have to be a real solid offer for them to trade back. If anything, I can see Beane dealing around to jump into the back half of the first round or maybe coming up from 40 towards the top of the second round.

Does Barr have a reputation for being soft? I know he hasn't quite performed up to his draft status but that just happens sometimes. Thanks! And I agree, I thought he fared pretty well for a kid who never spent much time at MLB. He really picked it up toward the end of the season and I see no reason why that won't carry over to this year.

Haha, glad to help. And it's not as if they can't install some blitz packages where they line up Edmunds outside and tell him to rush. They started tinkering with that late last season and he showed the ability to get home.

You don't spend an entire season coaching the kid up and making him the QB of your defense just to move him to a different spot the following season. I get that a lot of people like to daydream different scenarios for the team, which we hear a lot of (move Glenn to G, now it's move Dawkins to G, slide Edmunds to OLB, Stephen Hauschka for 3-tech!) but things usually stay status quo. And I dunno what's up with Zach Brown. I know after he left the Bills it took him forever to find a team because his contract demands were well above what any team was willing to give him. He's got speed so he can cover, he's a pretty sure tackler, but one trait that stands out about him is that he slowly fades as the season goes on. Starts strong, then kinda disappears by season's end. Maybe that happened in Washington? I know I saw it go down in Buffalo but I guess I understand as the guy was on a one-year deal and the team was out of playoff contention by November. Some guys in those situations will dial it back on the effort to keep from getting injured so they can hopefully land a better deal once the season is over.

They're definitely creating competition for the guard spots between this dude, Long, and Teller.

Nsekhe is going to start at RT, mark it down. He's been trying to land a starting gig for a while now and the Bills clearly told him he'll have to compete to win the starting gig but as it stands right now Conor McDermott is his only competition.

This is the NFL. There is not one current active player that plays at 100% physical health. They're all dealing with something.

Wow, there are just a ton of conflicting reports right now. Maybe Bell and his agent are just trolling at this point? I see tweets saying it's the Jets, then I see tweets saying the Jets are pulling back and it's the Ravens who have the best chance. Then you see LaCanfora saying he's being told the Ravens are out. What happened to the other four teams that Josina Anderson listed this morning? I bet the Bills have bowed out by now. They have a limit on how high they'll go for a contract and if the rumor of the Jets offering $20 million per year then I'm certain Beane said adios.

Interesting acquisition. Beasley makes his living in the slot, though, and Daboll clearly has been asking for a Wes Welker/Julian Edelman type. Actually, the more I think about it, the more I dig it. Go Beane. And I don't think this means the end for Zay. Not at all. Beasley is 30 years old and even though it's a 4-year deal, it's likely structured in a way that gives the Bills an out after one or two years. Much like the Tyler Kroft deal. He isn't really guaranteed anything beyond this season. As for Zay, he'll line up outside where he's actually better off. Lot of people tend to think he's made for the slot because he caught so many screens and short passes from there in college but if you look at the film, he excels more when he lines up outside.

He probably also figured Daboll > Roman. Everyone knows Roman can design run plays like nobody's business but one of his shortcomings is his passing attack. He employs very elementary routes and concepts that aren't very difficult to defend. I can't think of one team Roman has coached that's had a WR go for 1000 yards in a season. He runs the ball, runs it again and then runs it some more. Usually ranks dead last in passing attempts wherever he goes. Brown recognized this and also sees that they have a QB who Roman will more than likely design run plays for. He sees Buffalo utilizing a downfield passing attack led by Captain Laserbeam and says, yeah I should've signed here last year, better late than never.

Earlier in this thread someone noted how Bell's Twitter colors were changed to green. Some thought that might mean the Jets but he did go to Michigan State whose colors are green. Recently, he's just changed the colors to red and has followed some Bills players. Texans also wear red. We're obviously reading too much into it but still, it's exciting stuff on a slow workday.

Wouldn't mind this at all. Would create competition with Murphy and be a solid part of the rotation. Guy can still play when he's healthy.

I mean, that's the kinda money QBs get these days but this kid has never completed an entire season. Most starts in one year he's ever had is 11 and while he's had some awesome stretches, he doesn't keep that up and he has had absolutely zero success outside Philly.
