  1. I mean...I hear him but, he's also one of the primary reasons there are so many more protective rules of offensive players these days.
  2. Each year I prepare myself for the officiating to be a disaster, just how it is. However, usually by mid-season things seem to level out. There are still bad calls and whatnot but it's like they get their crap together at a certain point and become mostly competent. That hasn't happened this season. It's been ungodly awful this year and only seems to be getting worse.
  3. I didn't care for the decision. There was enough time there to try, at least try. That doesn't really go a long way towards showing confidence in your offense, either. Should've let them try. Last Thanksgiving against the Lions. Tied at 25, ball on their own 25, 23 seconds to go and yeah, 3 TO's...but Josh fired a laser to Diggs on the first play, nearly 40 yards and bam, already in FG range. Needed to let them try.
  4. I laughed at that too. I've kinda always rolled my eyes when a defender goes wild celebrating a pretty routine tackle. It's like, okay, great, you got him...I mean, he picked up ten yards before you got him but you sure showed him. Coach Boras seems like a super well liked and respected coach. He was one of the first assistants Sean hired in 2017 and has been here since day one. I always wondered if he was going to get a look for OC since he has done that before but I think they like him right where he's at.
  5. Hey, youse better watch it, pal. He said all is NOT forgiven. So... Josh owes him something, clearly. Do youse wanna owe him something as well, Ricardo?! Ricardo Cranium!!
  6. They also need to allow technological advancements into the rules. Stuff like a microchip in the ball to help with spots, etc. I mean, there are already enough cameras and circuits in the dang pylons that they need their own little cooling fans. But, every time the league brings up integrating tech into officiating, the referee's union throws a tantrum, threatens a strike like, "You 'member them replacement refs? They were awful and we'll send 'em out again if you dare try to look at us as anything other than infallible! We are geniuses who see all and are never wrong!!" I really don't like officials. Anyone who wants to be one at that level... I dunno, I think you probably got farts in your brain or something.
  7. I commented elsewhere in this thread that up until the last two weeks, Singletary had averaged a total of 27 rushing yards per game as a Texan. Awesome for him that he is helping Houston win and being productive. Same goes for Zack Moss, he's had opportunities in Indy and has taken advantage. But... for the record... James Cook leads the both of them in total rushing yards. He has 688, Moss has 617, Singletary has 471. He also has more receptions and more receiving yards.
  8. Every year I try to just prepare myself for the fact that officiating is going to be an abysmal dumpster fire, yet every year they find new ways to impress me with their idiocy. This really isn't anything major but for a while I've wondered why "half the distance to the goal" is a thing. Why not just kick the first down marker ten or fifteen yards down the field? Team stays at their own six yard line or whatever, but now it's 1st and 20 or 25, etc.
  9. During the off-season I would've said I'd be surprised if Beane didn't work out an extension with Davis. Now... I'm pretty sure they're gonna move on from him. I think there were rumors that they were aiming to extend him before the season but I've no idea if that's true. Obviously he's capable of some great games but consistency seems to be his big obstacle. One game he goes off for 8 grabs, 125 yards and a TD. Then he follows up with one catch on five targets, a drop, a deflection off his hands for a pick, a fumble, etc. I've liked Gabe since they've drafted him and like I said, he's obviously had his moments. I think they move on, though.
  10. Nuh uh. I read on this very board that he is checked out, uninterested, and intends on demanding a trade from the Bills. And if that doesn't work out, this forum told me he'll just quit football altogether.
  11. Singletary had his first back to back 100 games for his career. Prior to last week, the dude had averaged 27 rushing yards per game for the season. So let's not act like he's suddenly some kind of all pro.
  12. For the ever loving love of crap I hope they win Sunday so I don't have to wade thru all these godawful comments.
  13. I wonder if Brady will be on the sidelines or in the booth. I'd imagine sidelines given that's where he's been all season. They asked him in his presser and he said there are advantages to both but didn't say where he'd be.
  14. Definitely feels like that. I mean, Daboll would scheme guys open, lot of pre-snap motion to confuse the defense or do things that gave Josh a chance to see what they were doing. With Dorsey it's really felt like, "Okay, just go beat your man and out-execute them every play!" He's had some decent play designs but it just doesn't feel like he's done enough to create mismatches or create situations that put a strain on the defense.
  15. I'm surprised, honestly. Figured it'd be after the season if anything. Everyone griping about McDermott, I get it but his defense has still played well despite all the injuries. That's gonna get him a mulligan if it keeps up for the rest of the season.
  16. He had a good game. Good for him. He has averaged 27 rushing yards in the other eight games. Quit whining.
  17. I've said since his rookie year, the dude is gonna knock your socks off with some plays and make you scratch your head a bit on some others. It's who he is. If anything, I feel like maybe the dude overthinks a bit. All this "low positive" stuff and always trying to maintain a balanced mood over the games. I dunno, I get it, but I kinda miss that dude who was always chirping on the sidelines and getting his guys amped up. Not that he doesn't do that, just seems to be less of it. Whoever in this thread said they need to cut loose and have fun had it right.
  18. Phillips hasn't had much more of an impact over Groot. Both have missed time with injuries but as it stands right meow Groot has more sacks this season while having 15 for his career and Phillips with 19. Miami fans been waiting for that guy to turn the corner as well but it hasn't happened yet.
  19. I've been fartin' around on Bills forums since like 2002. Always just liked discussing the team and the sport in general. These days I tend to keep in mind that this stuff is supposed to be fun. No doubt I still get all the feels during games and stuff, and I'm not ignorant to issues the team may have. I just prefer not to really dwell on that stuff too much. When they lose it's a bummer, I don't need to keep it bummin' the whole week talking about why and what they gotta do and this and that. I'm really just indifferent to a lot of the negativity and real ridiculous criticisms and the kneejerk reactions, etc. So when like more than half the board blows up after a loss and it's just all blaaarrgh I tend to avoid it for a bit. There are a number of posters that seem like-minded to how I perceive things so I tend to gravitate towards reading and engaging with them. Some folks are pretty funny. I try to throw in some stupid dumb humor curve balls where I can. It's hit and miss haha. Like I said above, it's supposed to be fun. If fun for some folks is nitpicking the crap out of everything then I guess that's their thing ..weird, but you do you and all that. I used to get real uptight about this stuff too but the older I've gotten the more ways I've found to enjoy it and not get wrapped up in the bummer stuff or letting a loss affect my whole day or week. I guess there are different levels of passion for your home team. I try to keep it fun and level.
  20. If it's not Banjo...is it Banjo-Kazooie? Or perhaps it's Hamster Huey and the Gooey Kablooie. Man, I'd be awesome at making up play calls.
  21. This a good post. I concur with everything. Sometimes I wonder if some fans forget that this stuff is supposed to be fun. Nitpicking and over-analyzing and looking for negatives just doesn't seem like fun to me.
  22. The scouting reports I saw on him all had similar things to say about how he would need some time to develop. The consensus seemed to be, "give him a couple years and he'll be a solid player."
  23. Not for nothing but the Giants were chippy and trying to stir it up all night. Sean probably didn't care for that. And Daboll probably didn't care for all the times Sean called him out for lack of a run game lol.
  24. I dunno how long some of y'all been watching this team but I've seen much uglier wins. Nobody wants to admit that the Giants defense came out and had a solid game. They have a legit DL and they appear to have a pair of young linebackers on their way up. The two drives that ended in turnovers, the offense was clicking. Gabe gets the ball knocked out on a good play from the defender. The ball nearly rolled out of bounds as well. It bounced for the Giants. Sometimes that's the game. Then later on, another good looking drive gets ended with the tip drill INT. Again, all you can really do is say hey, hats off to the Giants, they made a good play. At the end of the day, the Bills put together what, a 16 play drive that ate up nearly 10 minutes and ended in the go-ahead TD? They then closed in to field goal range twice (technically three times, that early punt selection from McDermott was kind of a wuss call) but Bass uncharacteristically pushed both kicks wide. Again...stuff happens. And I don't think it can be understated the effect Daboll had on the game. Dude knows Josh better than anyone, knows what makes him tick, knows the things he struggles with... they mixed up their defenses quite a bit and uh, yeah... it happens. It's like, if this team isn't winning 63-0 every week then half of y'all are unhappy about it. I've said it for a while now but the expectations on this team are sometimes a bit nuts. A win is a friggin' win. They don't come easy and they don't all come pretty. I've sat through some of the crappiest football you could imagine during the drought. Oldheads around here suffered through some awful seasons in the 70s and 80s. Sometimes I wonder if some of youse never went through those times or just don't wanna remember it. After watching yearly crap-shows from 2000 to 2017, I ain't about to complain too much about a team that has put up insane numbers, made it to and won playoff games, has found their franchise QB, has made the right moves to acquire talent to put around that QB, consistently fields a top five defense almost every season despite missing four major starters right now. If all of that plus a victory ("but not the type of victory I wanted or expected!!!") somehow bums you out then I really don't know what to tell youse guys. Could they have played better? Sure. I can't say I was too thrilled to see a shotgun formation on 2nd and goal from inside the one. You just kinda wanna yell at Ken, hey man, it does not have to be that complicated. You're half a yard away with a flippin' monster man at QB. I know they're working super hard to protect him this year but he's the guy, sneak the friggin' thing. And I dunno when everyone is gonna learn that these teams at the bottom are almost always gonna ante up to play a contender like the Bills. I'm certain those guys are tired of losing and being embarrassed. I'm sure they had a little extra juice this week wanting to get a win for their coach over his old team, or even score a win for their backup QB over one of his old teams. Nobody should've expected them to roll over. You've got a buncha guys out there who rarely get opportunities, they're gonna play hard. They aren't just gonna step aside and be like, "Oh are you Josh Allen and the Bills? Please, right this way into our end zone. Visit as many times as you'd like!" Bah.
