  1. It’s generally wise to wait and see what the actual terms of the contract are — cap hits, signing bonuses, guaranteed money, incentives — before declaring it a “good” or “bad” signing. Then again, look who I’m talking to here.
  2. Yep. Zeke isn’t even the best running back on their roster, and his ridiculous contract just cost them a top 20 WR. DON’T. PAY TOP DOLLAR. TO RUNNING BACkS.
  3. I’m not so sure. He lives in Jersey City, for one thing.
  4. Money wise, Gallup + Zeke instead of Cooper seems….less than ideal. Not how I’d have done it. Then again, I’m just a fool on a sofa. On the other hand, Jerry Jones and I have won the same amount of Super Bowl championships in the last quarter century.
  5. I'd bet almost anything that the contract terms as announced are misleading. When the contract details come out, they will likely reveal a very team and cap friendly contract laden with incentives and an out after one year. That said, I'm glad lil dirty is back. Hopefully they're not done adding at WR.
  6. I have nothing against any of them. Just making the point that I think Buffalo will do its usual free agency thing: low priced and second/third tier guys that fill holes but don't excite the fan base. I won't believe it untilI see it that Beane is gonna be in on the Chandler Joneses and Rob Gronkowskis of the world.
  7. This 42 page thread and all of its talk about big ticket free agents and exciting trade targets is gonna seem pretty silly in retrospect when free agency opens and the Bills sign Austin Blythe, Jamison Crowder, Marlon Mack, and Teddy Bridgewater and call it a day 😬.
  8. Well, it’s not quite apples to apples, since thousands more position players have been drafted in the third than punters. Just looking at recent history, I’d rather have Dawson Knox or Gabe Davis than a punter — even a very good one.
  9. I don't like the Aikman/Buck announce team. They bore me. I don't find either of them likable, and I don't feel like they add to my knowledge of the game or make much effort to teach viewers anything. That said, it's a real head scratcher for them to leave Fox Sports, where they had guaranteed good games every week and a Super Bowl every few years (not to mention Buck's other Fox Sports duties), for ESPN, where they get one game a week -- which will often stink -- and no Super Bowl. Money talks, bull#### walks, I guess.
  10. The “we need to makes big splash!” mentality is left over from the drought era, when free agency and the draft were our Super Bowl. The truth of the matter now is that the Bills are the AFC Super Bowl favorites going into next season and don’t NEED a big splash. A few shrewd additions here and there? Sure. One big name, perhaps? That’d be great! But it’s not NECESSARY. The Bills are really good and have the best quarterback on the planet. It’s ok if they don’t overspend for a bunch of big names on the back nine of their careers.
  11. He’s no better than OBJ. He’ll be irrelevant/underused, just like his predecessor in Cleveland. I hope they enjoy spending $30M combined on Cooper and David freaking Njoku, though.
  12. For what it’s worth: the Pegulas have been consulting with Jerry Jones and co about the new stadium construction. So as far as the Bills “visiting Arlington”, I view it as more likely that it was to discuss stadium/business than to hash out a trade.
  13. I don’t buy it. We’re gonna pay that much for Cooper, when Diggs would assuredly IMMEDIATELY need a new deal paying him the same or more? Ain’t happenin’.
  14. I get it. He’s punt Jesus. I’m still not drafting him in the third. We can just agree to disagree.
  15. I disagree. I get that he’s talented, but I don’t think it’s wise to take a punter before round five. Bryan Anger was also supposed to be a can’t-miss, generational punter, and he was drafted in the third. He has had an unspectacular NFL career and is currently unemployed. 5th round is the highest I’d go.
  16. Yep. Some dumb GM is gonna take him in the 3rd or 4th. Count on it.
  17. Thank you for summarizing it all so I do t have to listen through. I’m more of a visual than an auditory guy when it comes to this stuff. As for what he laid out: I can’t complain. Kirk upgrades our passing game. Chandler Jones upgrades our pass rush. He addresses the offensive line in a meaningful way. If I’m picking nits, I don’t love the lack of more meaningful TE addition, and I don’t love Tyler Smith as our first round pick. Other than that…good stuff. ….you know free agency hasn’t started yet, right? What you meant to say I’d that your feelings are hurt that Beane didn’t trade for Khalil Mack.
  18. He ran the same 40 time as Isaiah McKenzie. Dude is crazy athletic for his size. Him and Knox up the seams would be a problem for defenses.
  19. I think we need to be prepared for 12 personnel to become a much bigger part of the Bills offense. Less slot receiver targets, more flex/TE2 targets. Whether that means Gronk, Engram, Rudolph, or a draftee, I think it’s going to happen. Tommy Sweeney won’t be the guy. They may essentially give Beasley’s money, and a bunch of his snaps and targets, to a TE2/flex type.
  20. This. Nearly traded for him last offseason.
  21. Big cap numbers the next three seasons. Bills couldn’t have afforded him, draft pick compensation aside.
  22. Mock all you want. It doesn’t mean much coming from a chronically arrogant know-it-all such as yourself. Have you EVER been wrong about ANYTHING? Tell me something: how many helpful free agents can you sign if you have $0 in cap space? How many can you sign if you have $20M in cap space? Right. Gonna sit here and say that the COVID situation shrinking their cap space from $20M to $0 had no impact on the Bills’ ability to sign players and then accuse ME of lacking logic? Sure, bud. Go try your tired schtick on someone else.
  23. It’s not irrelevant at all. The Bills have been right up against the cap for two off seasons now. Putting the cap back where it was pre-Covid would have the Bills about $20M under the cap the past two off seasons instead of right up against it. Two straight off seasons being $20M under the cap is not what I’d consider cap mismanagement. Yes, all teams faced the same thing, but clearly Beane’s cap planning for 2020 and 2021 didn’t factor in a $20M cap reduction. Without it, the Bills would’ve had a lot more space to maneuver the past couple years. To say that it doesn’t factor in or isn’t relevant to the Bills’ cap situation is illogical.
