  1. Im not super excited by Berrios. I can just see the Bills wanting to add a vet for the short term and a rookie for the long term. If Berrios doesn’t command big money, I can see the staff liking his versatility — core special teams guy, veteran in the slot, quickness and agility. I have no attachment to him. I’d actually rather see the Bills just draft two of these fast young rookies and go young. Diggs and Davis are vets, both now in their prime. Let’s get some youth and speed behind them. …but again…I could see this staff going after a Berrios type if they lose Beasley.
  2. I think WRs are making stronger 1st year contributions than ever these days. That said, I could see them signing a mid level free agent like Berrios and then drafting a youngster. Im guessing the QB you mention will be a veteran FA, not a draftee. Guard could be either. In any case, I say again: keep the cupboards stocked. Keep the offense elite!
  3. I said in another thread and I’ll keep saying all offseason: I hope the Bills go young and fast at WR, drafting two WRs in the first four rounds. Sanders, Beasley, and McKenzie may ALL be gone. After Diggs and Davis, the Bills have only unproven, raw guys like Stevenson and Hodgins. Keep the offensive cupboards stocked. Add speed. Add weaponry. Great year to add a couple young wideouts.
  4. I would love to see the Bills trade Bease and go young/fast at WR, drafting two in the first four rounds. That said, I doubt anyone trades for that contract. The most likely scenario is that Cole is back on a reduced salary, something like $3M. Still, I hope the Bills make WR an early draft priority.
  5. Sign Gronk, draft a speedy WR like Dotson or Williams, and draft RB Max Borghi in round 3 or 4. Defense? Who needs defense? Just boat race everyone off the field.
  6. Some people can find a way to complain about a free lunch. The Bills have one of the most fun, unique, one-of-a-kind gameday atmospheres in pro sports. It has been beloved by Bills fans for years and years. It boggles my mind that all of a sudden everyone wants to uproot it, stick it in the middle of a downtown area (which is the last thing I'd ever want, because going to NFL games in downtown areas STINKS), and put a roof on it. I don't get it. It looks like we get to keep our Bills in Buffalo for the long haul (which was anything but a given just a few short years ago), we get a brand new stadium with much more of the seating covered and protected from the elements, we get to keep it in Orchard Park, where the gameday experience, I promise you, is way more enjoyable than some downtown area with no room for tailgating would be...and best of all, it looks like the budget will likely pass and the thing will actually get built and -- let me say this again -- it all adds up to us NOT LOSING OUR TEAM TO ANOTHER CITY!!! And yet....I still see endless crying about roof, location, waste of money, etc. It's madness to me. Bills are staying in Orchard Park. Natural grass. No roof. Get over it.
  7. I look forward to pouring hours into reading draft guides, watching highlights, doing 1,000 mock drafts, and coming up with the perfect draft class…..only to see the Bills go completely the opposite direction and make me wonder why I bothered. (Edge, edge, tackle, tackle 2021, I’m lookin at you!)
  8. I respect the hell out of guys who get out of the league young, on their own terms, with millions in their pockets. Feels like they’re beating the system a bit by making that kind of wealth and not having to sacrifice years of bodily and brain health just to hang on until “acceptable” retirement age. If I had made $35million by age 30, I’d have retired too. Good for Marpet.
  9. I thought that GM Marv Levy and coach Dick Jauron made a brilliant move by bringing in Steve Fairchild to import the greatest Show On Turf offense to Buffalo, and that we had the personnel to successfully execute it with Lee Evans, Andre Davis, Peerless Price, Roscoe Parrish, and JP Losman. Thought we’d set the league on fire. Also thought Josh Reed was a very underrated slot receiver. Also thought Trent Edwards would be “the one”. Also openly didn’t want anything to do with Josh Allen. I could go on all day. Never listen to my takes.
  10. It's gonna be a loooooong offseason.
  11. And yet the Bills will STILL be the cheapest ticket in the NFL. Despite being one of the two or three best teams in the league. C'est la vie.
  12. Do you ever just consider keeping ***** to yourself? Like, do you ever read over your post and go "yeah, ya know what? I just won't say anything". You should consider it.
  13. This is the first season I've ever watched where I felt like the Bills absolutely should've been Super Bowl champions -- they were good enough to get it done and had the opportunity to get it done and didn't execute when it mattered. They were the best team in the league and their quarterback put up a historic playoff performance...and it wasn't enough. They didn't bring home the Lombardi. (Before anyone asks, I was too young to really remember the 1990 season). This will hurt for a while. Everything lined up perfectly for them to do it, and they didn't. Ouch.
  14. You should just not mention to anybody that it's vegan chorizo and see how long it takes for someone to notice, if anyone notices at all.
  15. I would ask what you're cooking, but I'm guessing Jimmy will be doing all the food prep for you -- what with his frozen pierogis and all.
  16. Because nobody's more popular at a Super Bowl party than the guy who decides to swap out the sausage for a vegan substitute. 😆 (I know just the product you're talking about and agree that it's a good substitute and quite tasty. I'm just busting balls.) THANKS OBAMA!!!
  17. The only thing wrong with what Payton said is this: He claimed man coverage across the board should've been the call, but the Bills had been burned on a crossing route that went for a TD earlier in this game. They also lost to the Bucs in overtime on that crossing route to Perriman. My point being that I think the Bills were quite scared of being beaten on a walk-off TD due to one of the Chiefs' WRs outrunning and/or confusing Jackson or Wallace in man coverage, as we saw happen in this game and also earlier in the season. I preferred Rex Ryan's idea: Zone coverage, not as deep as McDermott had them lined up, rush only two, and cover Kelce and Hill man-to-man underneath the zone coverage.
  18. Is that what Harrison Philips looks like under the helmet these days? No wonder he was getting such good penetration this year.
  19. It really is maddening. It's been a settled issue for quite a while now, but some just can't let it go.
  20. Whole lotta self proclaimed construction and finance experts in this thread... Me, personally? I'm in camp "plan for and build whatever is most likely to actually get approved, funded, and built, and to therefore keep the Bills in Buffalo forever". Roof, schmoof.
  21. All anyone who questions the legitimacy of the NFL's expansion into Europe needs to do is turn on any game that has taken place in London in the last few years. The stands are always full and the crowd always interested, even though the games that get sent there have, without exception, been completely awful. Not only that, but you'll see a huge variety of different team jerseys in the stands. It feels like I've seen almost every team's jersey represented in the stands in the NFL's UK showcase games. Personally, my favorite part of those games is how much more audibly appreciative the crowd is of a successful field goal than U.S. crowds. I guess they just appreciate a high quality kick more than us yanks 😆 But anyway, the "what's the point? It'll never take off" crowd is way off base here.
  22. Meh. If you're bothered by competition being brought in, you're probably not the right type of dude for this team. The number of players on the team whose starting jobs are guaranteed is pretty low. Most guys have to fight for their position year after year. Spain's level of play never reached the "locked in starter who doesn't need any competition" tier, in my opinion. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
  23. Okay then. A simple question: Who do you propose as a replacement for Leslie Frazier?
  24. Recency bias and fan over-reaction at their finest. The Bills have had a top 10 defense the majority of the time that Frazier has been a coach here. This past season, they were ranked 1st in pass defense, 1st in points allowed, and 1st in yards allowed. The defense was a big reason that they even won the division and made the playoffs to begin with. The "13 seconds failure" was admittedly terrible. By all means, let's let it outweigh five years of great work and high defensive rankings. I would love -- absolutely LOVE -- to know who Bills fans think is going to come to One Bills Drive and coach this roster to a BETTER defensive finish than the one they had last year.
