  1. If what Will Caroll says is true -- and multiple people seem to think Caroll is a trustworthy source -- then Allen missing not only this week but possibly more games after that suddenly seems much more plausible.
  2. Well that's pretty huge. Not that you ever root for injuries, but since we'll be missing key defenders, it's nice to see that they will, too. Levels the playing field a bit.
  3. Likewise. None of us know a thing. I'm following obvious context clues, like several missed (or curtailed) practices in a row for Josh. Case Keenum getting first team reps all week. Based on everything I have seen, heard, and read, and based on the practice reports this week, I am GUESSING -- and I do feel that it's an educated guess based on the previously mentioned context clues -- that Josh sits. I don't know, Baumer doesn't know, and neither do you. No need to throw stones. No more or less comical than those who are dead certain that he's playing based on little more than blind hope and guess work.
  4. I agree somewhat, but I believe there would be different points of coaching emphasis against Keenum rather than Allen. For instance, containing the edges and perhaps assigning a spy are not going to be points of emphasis against Keenum the way they would be against Allen. I would also think that squatting more on short and intermediate routes and worrying a little bit less about the deep routes would be a consideration. In short, I think the Vikings defense potentially employs very different defensive tactics depending upon whether it's Keenum or Allen under center for the Bills.
  5. We'll know later today when the final injury report of the week is issued, but I'd bet anything that it says "DNP". Based on this coaching staff's history and common sense, three straight DNPs almost certainly equates to a missed game.
  6. Really? I come to the opposite conclusion. Hasn't practiced all week, and appears to maybe not be practicing today. I don't think they put him out there after not taking any practice snaps all week.
  7. Why do your posts always make me feel sad inside?
  8. I still say they're doing all of this "he could play!" stuff for a competitive advantage and the dude isn't playing this week, but that's just me.
  9. Friends, fellow fans, countrymen... Let Friday, November 11th, 2022 forever be remembered as the day that Sean McDermott rolled out the rarest of things: a FOURTH injury category. We've always had "day to day", "week to week", and "it's gonna be a while", but now, improbably.... The miraculous, fantastic, almost-too-ridiculous-to-be-real-but-somehow-it-is "hour to hour" designation!
  10. Man.... With our defense struggling against the run lately, if we are without Rousseau, Edmunds, and Poyer on Sunday, against a team with Dalvin Cook at tailback... Things could get ugly fast. I agree with all but White. What is it about today's injury report that indicates to you anything whatsoever about Tre White?
  11. Speaking of Jackson Browne, his song "These Days" is one of my all time favorites. So beautiful. Have listened to it a million times.
  12. I officially predict that Josh misses three games. I know, I know, I'm such a jerk. This team is very cautious with injuries, and we're talking about the throwing arm of the franchise QB here. I think the Bills feel like they can potentially win the next three games WITHOUT Allen. They brought in a guy like Case Keenum for a reason. If the Bills can go 2-1 without Allen over the next three games -- and I really feel like the Browns and Lions games, in particular, are winnable with Keenum under center -- they'll be in good shape.
  13. Hasn't Tre White been called "day to day" by McDermott and missed more than one game since that declaration was first made?
  14. With the year almost over, I'd have to say that the best concert I saw this year, hands down, was Billy Strings. Knocked my socks off. Eager to go see him again as soon as he comes through my town. What a show!
  15. Thread of the year. Close the voting now. There's no point.
  16. I think if you had just said "maybe there will be a silver lining to this injury", then people would have no problem with it. But instead you said "Allen injury a good thing?" and, well....let the GIFs and flaming commence.
  17. Unfortunately not taking 1st team reps for the Bills this week... The internets say he runs his own fashion line and is married to the daughter of legendary NFL coach Bud Grant. Also, presumably, causing women (and certain fellas) to faint wherever he goes.
  18. If for any reason Josh can't go this Sunday, you all know what we need to do. That's right....we need to disarm the Vikings with good lucks and charm. It's time to sound.....the Gibran Hamdan alarm!
  19. May I ask why? I'm just curious as to your reasoning. Personally, I think that saying "day to day" is of the most strategic benefit. If he had said "week to week", it would telegraph that he's out for this Sunday. By saying "day to day", you can take it right up to Sunday morning without the opposition knowing who will be at quarterback. I have no idea whether Josh will play on Sunday or not, but I think saying "day to day" is the best, most logical gamesmanship possible given the situation. I wouldn't be surprised if Josh plays Sunday, and I wouldn't be surprised if he missed two games.
  20. Remember: There are only three settings on the McDermott injury scale. "Day to day" "Week to week" and "It's gonna be a while" Keeping that in mind, "day to day" is as good as we could've hoped for.
  21. The divide in this thread between "we can afford to drop an NFC game" and "we can't afford to drop ANY game!" seems to come down to a split in what is a realistic target/expectation for the Bills: Some are looking mainly at winning the division, which will guarantee a playoff spot and keep the Bills out of the messy Wildcard race. In this case, it's true, a loss to an NFC opponent will matter less than losses to the Phins, Jets, or Pats, particularly considering the Bills are already 0-2 in the division. Some, however, are still looking mainly at getting the AFC #1 seed, in which case EVERY loss hurts, with the Chiefs and Phins and Jets right on the Bills' heels in terms of record. It all comes down to how many games Josh might realistically be expected to miss. Unless I missed something, the various reports out there right now are not definitive. Until McDermott himself confirms something, we don't know how severe Josh's injury is or how many games it might keep him out of. If it's like his rookie year and he could realistically miss four games, then people should maybe start adjusting their expectations toward winning the division rather than worrying about securing the #1 seed. If the injury ISN'T serious and Josh is going to miss 0-2 games, then the #1 seed is certainly still in play.
  22. The amount of people seemingly willing to risk long term injury to the throwing arm of the best QB the Bills have ever had in the name of playoff seeding is quite alarming.
