  1. This possibility will affect the asking price. If the Gmen have no intention of paying OBJ market rate and are sick if his antics , he'll be moved.
  2. Agreed. I'll take the drive extending first down when no one was open and just coach Jackson to slide and or better still get OB when he's got the chance. It's a valuable weapon , just have to know when to say when and get OB
  3. Anecdotal evidence : they think he look likes Tyrod Taylor ( read into that what you will) and he runs, so must not be that good. I do not agree with this opinion, btw but that's what I hear when I bring Jackson up to other Bills fans.
  4. The ratings dips are significant on their own , but all TV viewership is down across the board. NFL games are still the surest thing going relative to other programming. Just not reaching the volume of viewers that they used to. It will be interesting how advertisers view the shrinking pool of " captive eyes" and how or if it affects what they ( and ultimately networks ) are willing to pay. They wanted to send a message to the advertisers that they expect them to stay out of this. They don't want them choosing sides publicly. They'd pretty much love if the whole thing just went away. It's just difficult to make that happen.
  5. That's the NFL now. Load up to win while you still can. The window of opportunity for success and championships has shrunk. Look at Seattle. Get a SB title and then start to rebuild again. Emotions take over in these situations sometimes. KC practically gave Peters away.
  6. Right. Heck with the game, let's have a bunch of rival groups ( choose your favorites) and set them up before each game. Or just have one huge protest where everybody " airs their grievances"! We all have the right. Sounds like fun, where do I buy my ticket! ( this will be great for business)
  7. They are in the workplace. They are on the clock before the game starts. Warm ups, meetings etc. You are correct about the military contract. It seems to have bitten the NFL in the a$$ a bit, because the language says " should stand" or something. Not " must " or " will". Perhaps the players wouldn't have agreed to that or whatever. Either way, it was a bad idea and they should just cancel the thing and be done with it. Go to a college type deal where they are brought out afterward. Or just stop the anthem altogether. I think they were for playoffs and some national TV broadcasts. I'd have to check old Bills games to be sure, but that's how I remember it anyway.
  8. Short QBs historically don't go in the top ten or even first round. Mayfield is under 6"1. NFL teams have their reasons, and these things don't change quickly if at all.
  9. I do recall some tweets post- draft about this. Idk how legit it was, but it was out there.
  10. Hmmmm. Do they trade OBJ in conference? I'd say they move him to CLE in a draft deal or some other AFC team. Not New England though. They're not looking to do him any favors .
  11. There is no way to prove it either way. It just makes sense to me that business owners would tend to see it the same way for their business. Not a good look and the talent level doesn't match the negatives that would come with him. Fans are sympathetic with legal troubles, addiction, maybe some would even say domestic violence to a point. You rarely hear howls of protest. Politics is yet another matter. It's the entertainment business. Just with a different customer base than say, movie and show biz fans that swoon over stars' political statements and causes.
  12. That's just politics and how it's always been. You know the old saying about politics. The league would love to stay out of it. Legal troubles have often been overllooked by the NFL and fans. They're just not as divisive topics. Politics has been known to split families and end friendships .
  13. If a sizable enough portion of the fan base finds it offensive and disrespectful, then it is. At least to them. That's a problem, and the NFL powers that be know it. The Prez brought the issue back into the forefront to stir the pot a bit. The players reacted and fans took sides. The whole thing is bad for business, and needs to be dealt with by the NFL. You can theorize this, but there's no way to tell. Speaking in absolutes doesn't make it so. Probably not. They aren't there for Manziel though. It's not his pro day, anyway.
  14. Manziel isn't having a " pro day". He's there as a QB " arm". Teams are there to evaluate draftable college players. It's a smart move by him to make himself visible.
  15. Same reason. It's not blacklisting, though. Just a shared opinion, not a conspiracy. There's nothing illegal about it. The league has a drug program, so I guess it's ok up to a point . Don't be surprised if the league eventually backs down on the marijuana issue. It's legal in some states, and I believe all states eventually. To me, a guy who hits a girl is a loser. I'm not the NFL, though. They do have a domestic violence policy too. Aldon Smith and Rice come to mind. Anyway, there is no collusion or any way to prove it. The players you mention don't sit well witha portion of the fan base and are bad for business. It IS a business after all.
  16. Most fans don't care about what Manziel did. Kaep isn't " blacklisted". That's so overused and inaccurate. He IS bad for business , in the opinion of most owners. Not worth the headache and drama he'd bring to a team. He's just not that good. He doesn't have a spot because nobody wants him. Most teams want a backup to keep quiet, know their place and fall in line. That's not Kaep. His choice. A locker room is a fragile thing.
  17. Makes sense. Personally , I'd vote for MCarron over any rookie the Bills could draft this year. If Andrew Luck was in this draft and the Bills took him, I'd vote to start Luck opening day. Most years, I'd vote for a vet and turn it over to the rookie down the road if the situation warrants it. I haven't given up on drafting a franchise type QB. Maybe they could start quickly, but I wouldn't start them in the opener. Maybe mid season or so if things are going south.
  18. Yep. He's said he'd take a no guaranteed $ deal. Little to no risk. The Bills situation is dire, they can't afford to pass up any decent option. Probably wouldn't pan out, but they need a QB.
  19. Some fans point to stats to show Tyrod was a good QB. All that matters is that NFL teams view him as an average player. Le Sean McCoy expressed that opinion as well. If he was way above average , some team would put up with him. Most probably don't want to be in the middle of the circus.
  20. True. Completion percentage can be influenced by many factors. Teams break down every throw and if they feel Allen can be a high percentage passer with the shorter passes required in many offenses he'll be picked high.
  21. It just looks like the options are drying up in regards to landing a higher pick. As many as 3 of the 4 may be gone by the 5th pick. I'm just less optimistic after the Colts/ Jets move .
  22. Manziel has already stated that he would take a contract with no guaranteed $ in the NFL.
  23. He's a cancer to the business side of the NFL, and was figured out by D coordinators after the initial success. It's not ridiculous at all. It's reality.
  24. In all reality though, it's debatable how " relevant" Manziel really is. He was an " arm" at a pro day, and by most accounts looked pretty good. Nothing more than that. He's trying to get another shot, but it's not exactly in the works just yet.
