  1. While the “ face mask “ call was completely bogus( generated a lot of twitter activity during the game) and one of the worst phantom calls ever , Corrente is not terrible. He’ll have an all star crew , but his crew was fair during the season and didn’t throw a ton of flags. Bills-Redskins game had few called penalties overall. The Bills could do a lot worse. I’d prefer Vinovich or Blakeman, but Corrente wouldn’t be far off.
  2. Once you’ve achieved the goal of playoff caliber - ie gaining entry into the tournament- you need a new goal. The other 11 teams have earned the right to be there too. Your opponent is playoff caliber ; Your team is now competing for a championship. So championship caliber is what it has to be.
  3. Pricing power in that outdated stadium with fans exposed to the elements is minimal. A few more attractive games could see somewhat higher pricing, but not by a whole lot.
  4. I suspect Marrone will feel the wrath of Khan.
  5. Just a matter of little things, not that huge a deal. I definitely don’t find it disheartening. The scenarios at the end of the games were remarkably similar. Both the Bills and the Dolphins needed a TD ( phins to win , Bills to tie) Both teams moved the ball into scoring territory. Fitz hit a pass over the middle for the TD, Bills tried ( and missed) an open , but much lower percentage fade route. Daboll also wasted a down on a silly QB sweep that went nowhere. Bills ended up in a 4th down situation and the OL was a sieve. Game over. Dolphins OL held up ( not fourth down) and Fitzy hit the pass. Ballgame. Imo, a better job by Daboll with play selection gets the Bills the tie, then see what happens in OT. Frustrating yes, but highly correctable.
  6. McD has had a TE inactive on game days all year once Kroft returned from injury. I think he was just staying consistent with what he’s been doing there.
  7. No, it’s the Titans - as others have stated. They are a bigger threat offensively, have a punishing ground attack and Tannehill is playing at a high level. They might be the hottest team in the AFC heading into the playoffs.
  8. Momentum shifts can be a thing in the course of a given game, but not week to week or anything. You don’t carry momentum into a postseason or lose it during a bye week etc. Anyway, as always in the NFL this game will be about matchups and making fewer mistakes than the opponent. As per usual with the Bills, their defense will be the biggest deciding factor. Josh Allen / OL will be a close second. If the offense can stay balanced , and in manageable third down situations the Bills will have a good look at a win in Houston.
  9. I watched in amazement as the ‘Phins drove down the field on NE in the final 3 minutes without being penalized. That just doesn’t happen in Foxboro.
  10. Yeah I agree. Any idea why this was scheduled that way ?
  11. I thought it was a lot of hand fighting then the TE grabbing the defender to prevent an INT. Good no call and a fitting twist after that crap PF call that totally changed to final 3 minutes.
  12. Total bulschitt call on SF he couldn’t possibly hear the whistle and finished his block!!!!! These refs suck A$$
  13. Balance and college style plays are now in fashion. There’s always been cycles in the NFL. 3-4, 4-3, run and shoot, west coast , 46, etc etc. Some of the best passing teams may not have good defenses as well. Probably many factors at work, but the nature of quarterbacking is starting to change as well.
  14. Different league then , too. The overall quality of defensive play is far inferior to ‘98 and ‘99 as well. You can’t even really play defense like you could at that time. The D will have to have a day, but they’ve done that pretty much all season. We don’t know if Allen can win a game outright or not because they’ve barely let him try. He may not have to this week, if the defense is up to their usual standard. If the situation arises that he needs to go win it, I don’t think you’ll see reluctance to let him in a playoff game. There’s no game the next week if you don’t. It’s a new season, really.
  15. Yep. That was the spark. Who knows what was toxic about MIA at the time, but Tanny is a totally different guy in TEN. Situation can make a difference for a QB.
  16. I think it does. 49ers are a much bigger draw than the Seahags
  17. Well, 85 was a 2-14 season iirc. Not sure about ‘06, but Moorman might have been the MVP of that team.
  18. Lol I’ve had that dill weed on ignore for a long time. No one is interested in the Pats* outside of BOS/ NE area but they will watch in hopes that they lose. Football fans in general despise that team.
  19. This^^ timing of injuries is never good, but Nsekhe being ready to come back was a real long shot. To many bodies falling around to play OL in his hobbled condition. Wallace is a bigger loss than many give him credit for ( if he can’t go) , hope Fuller is out because we are thin at DB.
  20. Lol, you’re right. They’ll give the freaking Patsies the last slot of the weekend.
  21. 49ers 35 Chiefs 30
  22. It’s unusual , but disappointing might be overplaying it a bit. Let’s say the Eagles game and Ravens game were away and DAL and PIT were home. Would that make you feel differently ? 6-2 on the road isn’t common either, so likely a case of happenstance with matchups. Then always factor in one home game vs Pats * ( Bills kryptonite) and a meaningless regular season finale ( in which the defense gave up a mere 13 points).
  23. It will be tonight , but the west coast possibilities if San Farncisco wins may delay the announcement.
  24. They earned a spot in the playoffs by winning their games. Many, many other teams failed to do exactly that. Nothing to worry about, as the Bills have a playoff game next week ! Lots of teams fans have turned their thoughts to the offseason and the draft.
