  1. He closed off China. Best thing that could have been done at the time. What’s going on around the world is evidence that there wasn’t anything to be done that would stop the virus. US medical system still has far more ventilators per 1000 population than any other in the world. By the end of the year just about everyone is America will have had this virus. Just what, pray tell, do you believe could have been done that would prevent the current situation ? ( not expecting a good answer btw)
  2. Oh, you mean while the Dems were busy with their asinine impeachment crap? Lol ...Cuomo knew of a shortage of ventilators in NYS if there were an epidemic back in 2015. He declined to put it in the budget. Probably wanted a big Medicaid boost in there though.
  3. Very true, and it’s on display now at Walmart and other fine retailers near you.
  4. Yep. He didn’t get to be a billionaire by giving money away. He’s probably going to lose a lot over the next few months.
  5. It’s disturbing how many sheep in NY and CAL are allowing themselves to be controlled by dictator Governors without a thought. Their very financial lives are being torn asunder , but they stand feebly by. Poor planning by Governor Cuomo ( he was warned of a ventilator shortage in the situation of a pandemic back in 2015) has led to this. He chose to not add one half of one percentage point to the budget by purchasing thousands of ventilators at $36k apiece. That would be a bargain price now. Anyway, he can’t keep the charge up for too long without destroying the greater economy for hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers, perhaps even millions in the name of saving a few thousand lives. It’s a tough choice for sure, but there is no good outcome. Our medical system still has many more ventilators per 1000 population than all of the socialized medicine countries. It’s still not enough, but we need to pool resources and do the best we can while opening up daily life and trying to take precautions. At the current rate, many more lives will be ruined than lost to the virus.
  6. It will turn out to be like a very bad flu, when all is said and done. Shutting down life as we know it is a massive overreaction. This thing isn’t going to simply vanish. Focus on increasing capacity of hospitals for the short term with makeshift facilities etc, and that’s that. Most people that get this aren’t going to be greatly affected. The local reporting on new cases when they pop up is ridiculous because far more people out there actually have it or have had it. There’s hardly any testing , so tracking these cases as if they are lepers is idiocy. All of us have friends , family and acquaintances that will test positive for this.
  7. I disagree completely. Blue states would turn red, is more like it.
  8. It’s not a hoax , and Trump has done a good job to date. Governors, on the other hand are giving heavy handed declarations and letting power go to their heads. People are surrendering freedoms with nary a peep, then tweeting out public shaming and virtue signaling. The liberal mantra is “ everyone must suffer and be punished”. The shutdowns are a major overreaction , and we will find many many folks who test positive for this who have little to no symptoms. The vulnerable should be the ones restricting themselves from others, not the other way around. May not be PC, but the liberal goal is to unleash panic and use it to advance the cause of universal health care.
  9. Yep, that was the last good group, was awhile ago now. Sure they’ve had good WRs in the past, but lacked talent elsewhere such as QB. They’ve had issues at WR in recent seasons for sure.
  10. They’ll be a very good WR group. That’s something you haven’t been able to say about the Bills in awhile. That will matter for opposing defenses. Best in the league? Rankings? Doesn’t mean a thing, so who cares? It’s a WR corps that should be good enough to compete for a championship.
  11. Look, we know. This whole freakin’ thing is upon us because some nut job in Wuhan decided to have a bat sandwich for lunch. There’s no conspiracy, just a bunch of weirdos eating f’ d up schi****.
  12. Ahhhh. Not surprising, though I still doubt DH was available within the AFC. He’s going to get a huge payday for sure.
  13. No. Value phase of FA coming up. On Beane’s radar : OT, TE, , CB, RB, WR. The draft will focus on which areas don’t get addressed in FA.
  14. I don’t think there was any talk of Hopkins being available last season at the trade deadline. There were talks of Diggs, Sanders et al. We don’t know what the price was then but you can expect it was high. Teams hadn’t had a chance to check out the draft crop at the combine yet, either. All these things were factors in making the trade now, but perhaps being more wary at the deadline. Fwiw, the Bills were one of the final teams bidding for Sanders.
  15. Lol, I would doubt that. No guarantee they could get Jeudy or Lamb, even Ruggs for that matter. They are complete unknowns at the NFL level, to boot. There’s a good chance one or more of them is a bust. The team has a 3rd year QB that they need to make a decision on in Josh Allen and need to give him plug and play weapons. This was the 31 st, then 23rd ranked offense in football. They don’t have time to wait, as their window has already opened. They gave up scratch off tickets for proven talent.
  16. It would still work for the NFL. They could play in empty stadiums and the ratings would be huge. There will be a season
  17. And it’s been a loooooong time waiting for that rear view. Much of that fan base has no idea what they could be in store for, even in this time of major QB movement. They’ll end up with Dalton or whatever , but for the most part the QB will be JAG.
  18. Wow, just saw that Tampa had 7 single digit losses last season, and in those games Winston turned the ball over a whopping 18 times. Bucs really could be in a good spot here, and I’m glad he’s not going to the Dolphins.
  19. Imagine if another AFC team had made the trade with the same round compensation. The cries of “ why weren’t the Bills in on this ? “ would be deafening.
  20. Look, a trade is always somewhat of a risk. The Bills are currently in that zone between good and contender. If you take no risks, you don’t have a great chance to improve enough to reach the next level. They’re at a point where they should be taking calculated risks.
  21. From the “ I’m now aware that I suck at TV so I need one last NFL paycheck” Dept.
  22. Agree. They will be the main competition for the Bills long term, not the Jets. I’ll take a wait and see approach with the Pats* for now; they’re an unknown at the moment .
  23. Pretty apparent Hopkins wasn’t available to AFC teams , or he’d be on one right now. Not on an AZ team that isn’t an immediate SB contender for what appears to be low compensation for the quality of player. As for the Bills trade, we don’t know the outcome. The compensation was fair for a 26 year old WR1. Since we can’t really grade until we know the result, I’m grading now on making the move required to immediately give the 3rd year QB a top target and bring the passing offense into the 21st century. For that, I give an A. We can’t deal in “ I’d like the best WR in the league for X” as that’s not reality.
  24. Not at all the same. That trade was more risky as it was for a draft pick; an unproven NFL talent. That’s not Diggs. It was a deep draft for WRs. Allen is entering his critical 3rd year, not his second. This move fits the timeline for building a championship contender, and it’s a logical next step. No similarity between these trades at all. Doesn’t involve next year’s first either.
