So that would tell us who is infected today, but any of us might be infected 4 days from now . I understand the need for the antibody test to see what % of the population has already been infected. It’s going to be much higher than the currently known cases. Perhaps we might be able to isolate some asymptomatic positives, but that will be challenging to say the least. Agreed, they’ve just changed the definition of prepared. Originally it was to not overwhelm the health care system, and to have enough ventilators. That was accomplished ( Cuomo-land aside, they had issues due to his incompetence but the President got things done)so now the goalposts have moved. Prepared now = no Coronavirus cases and no deaths. All deaths are laid at the feet of Trump, not of individual hygiene or overall healthiness/ genetics. It’s liberal logic ! When things don’t go your way, change the expectation after the fact.

I don’t see Trump as all that similar to Reagan, but the fact he doesn’t care for the conventional is one of the things I love about him. I love how much the left hates him. It’s actually entertaining.

Don’t know about GG, but I was somewhat skeptical on Trump at first. As things progressed, he won me over. Hillary was a non starter, Bernie was way too far left but Trump was different. He was so unconventional, so not PC and had some really good ideas . Ideas that would make for a better America. It became easy after that, when the left became completely unhinged in the summer of 2016. The choice was clear for me ; it was Trump whether he could actually win the GE or not.

As a goal, that is likely an impossible one. OSHA exists for a good reason. A virus can infect in a workplace even if all best practices are followed. There is no way to 100% guarantee against infection. At work, or anywhere. It would be very difficult to prove where someone contracted a virus.

Tibs, we know that medical experts believe in varying degrees that there will be a second wave. There may also be a third wave, etc until someday hopefully we have effective treatments and maybe a vaccine. If you recall, the shutdown was not meant to prevent any and all future cases of Coronavirus. It was to “ flatten the curve” and not overwhelm hospitals. We needed time to prepare the health system . Through massive personal sacrifice of Americans - 22 million out of work after just 30 days of locking down the economy- we’ve achieved that goal. So yes, as soon as the economy is reopened there will be more cases- Coronavirus isn’t going anywhere , it’s going to be with us for a long time. Reckless, sure. I get that, but I’d probably say something to them personally before anything else.As for testing , I believe the only criterion as of two days ago in Erie County is to have symptoms. That was a change from previous criteria. You now only need to show symptoms, and they have plenty of tests according to the County Exec.

I believe we already have that type of testing. At least we do in Erie County; anyone with symptoms will be tested through their provider or through the County if they don’t have one. They must immediately quarantine once tested. They should quarantine if they even have symptoms. However , there are a lot more asymptomatic individuals that are infected and contagious. Probably many times more than the number of known cases. That’s a much more difficult issue, and I’m not sure there’s any way to do a lot about it.

Oh, I agree on the temperature screening. It’s like the TSA screening implemented after 9/11. Strictly for show. And also agreed on the gym deal along with other things. Nothing is really going to be all that safe from covid 19. Eventually we will all know individually if we are very susceptible to it, kind of like a major food allergy. We will know our status and hopefully there will soon be highly effective treatments for those who would have an extremely negative reaction to it.

Just what medical experts say that Coronavirus is going away any time soon ? That an effective vaccine is imminent ? And what “ progressive policies” are you referring to?
