  1. December should be a pretty good bet. If the price is right, it’s worth consideration.
  2. For now I’m only looking at tickets to road Bills games. Still uncertainty there, but better odds imo. Interested in Vegas, Tenn, and Arizona. Miami in week two isn’t ideal from a weather standpoint; I was hoping for late October or November for that one.
  3. Seems like a very shady DA was the culprit here. These two should pay a heavy price.
  4. The age requirement should stay. I think the eligibility rule should probably stay too, but I could be convinced otherwise on that one.
  5. They should. To meet Lord Cuomo’s requirements, Erie County needs to test 27,500 people a month. That’s the Covid 19 test, not the antibody test - the antibody test isn’t part of Cuomo’s plan. They’re about 300 people a day short of that right now. They also need 280 contact tracers - to be hired by the State I think ,when they decide to get around to it. The county currently has 20 , so they need to hire another 260. These numbers are ridiculous, and the contact tracing is probably not even the right tool to use at this point as the virus is too widespread. At this rate, Erie county will be shut down until some time next year. There is already a 200 million deficit from being shut down a month and a half.
  6. If these polls are accurate, the lack of understanding with regards to the economy and how it works is stunning. Keeping the economy simply cannot continue. States, counties and cities are already into deficit spending after just over one month. That means drastic cuts will be made to everything. The federal government can’t pay people to stay home continuouslyThe entire economic system will crumble. Millions of Americans are out of work, and fewer business will survive with each week of economic shutdown. There won’t be a country left. Some people are going to die of Covid 19, and that’s a new reality. Destroying millions of lives and the entire country as we know it isn’t an option here. Most people that get infected with the Wuhan virus won’t even know they’ve had it or have mild symptoms. It’s amazing that so many Americans have no idea how their country functions or what makes it the greatest nation on Earth.
  7. And yet Cuomo's " benchmarks" for reopening include....widespread testing of a percentage of the population daily. That's keeping Erie County closed past the pause order and into seeming perpetuity. That's their new game ; move the goalposts so far and so frequently that the uprights just never get split. But " we're trying. Be patient"......
  8. Its Poloncarz ; he keeps moving those goalposts.
  9. Doesn"t matter, and too involved to get into. Anyway, a lit cigarette doesn't exist in nature. Just being present somewhere, breathing in proximity to others isn't dangerous on its own. Viruses, bacteria etc exist in nature. We don't infringe on freedoms in order to avoid them. Its a matter of personal choice and risk asessment.
  10. Bad comparison Doc ( and a lazy one). Governments must clear the roads of snow etc and pileups make that task difficult. Driving is also a privilege. Now, if they banned driving except in perfect weather because more accidents would happen during rainy conditions, etc and they need to"protect" us and keep us " safe" I might be inclined to agree with your statement
  11. I concur. While I still don’t love the idea of it in a grocery store or at Lowe’s, I’ve worn a face covering each time. I also try to keep my distance from others, waiting while standing away from the aisle etc. A restaurant or bar is more of a personal choice; a grocery store is a necessity.
  12. I sure hope you are right. Imo the masks are just the first step on the road to communism and tyrannical rule.
  13. Yep, I predicted something like this and I don’t hate it. I’ll pay even more not to have someone in between my companion and myself. Newsweek is portraying it as a negative, it seems. I don’t think the bag thing will fly though lol
  14. It cannot and will not work at bars or restaurants. Just no way to not interfere completely with the experience, and people will not go. Many of these businesses will go under as it is; they won’t make it if customers are forced to wear masks. Perhaps people can sign a waiver to go in a sit down restaurant or a bar.
  15. Forcing someone ( who may not even be infected) to wear a face covering is not comparable to having a handicap accessible ramp added to a physical structure. Where on earth did you get the notion that I implied a mask stops one from breathing ? I merely used the example to illustrate that sitting in an establishment without a mask is not infringing on anyone else’s rights. Then again, you thought Trump asking a question about “ is there any way we can...” was the same as telling people to inject themselves with Lysol. No, wearing a mask isn’t torture, but it’s an infringement of individual rights. You disagree and that’s fine. I won’t convince you and vice versa. They should have done this earlier. They now have blood on their hands, traceable to DiBlasio and Cuomo.
  16. I will have to agree to disagree here. The completely natural act of breathing ( we do this is our sleep) cannot be compared with a punch to the face. Individual rights and freedoms are paramount, not selfish. Branding individual liberties as selfish is the first step on the road to tyranny. Nature and life are inherently unfair, maybe even cruel. While one’s own individual health scenario may be limiting ones own freedom to an extent, forcing those limits on all others selfish. It is fine to want what others have, but not to take from others what we don’t have for ourselves. We do not all have the same health risks and limits. That is the natural state of things. Government should see to it that our health system can care for those who get sick. It’s not up to government to ensure no one gets a virus.
  17. Lol... he has overseen the worst Covid 19 response/ results on the planet. He constantly whines that nothing can be done, things will only get worse but hey, World War II lasted a long time. Great leadership! But he gives drivers licenses to illegals, spits on the second amendment , and has a hugely bloated Medicaid program. Seems like a great candidate for the lefties ! Biden ? He will serve zero terms as POTUS.
  18. Look; most who support Trump are able to think critically for themselves. Anyone who listens to him knows he goes off on tangents and his speaking style requires one to sift through his words. Personally, I don’t take everything he says as truth because it’s not logical to do so. That goes for anyone in politics. If he makes a statement such as the virus will go away, or there won’t be a second wave I dismiss it immediately. Why? Because he can’t possibly know this, and that is obvious ! It may be hopeful, and an attempt to prevent panic but it’s not a known fact. As for the pandemic, I think it is possible even likely there will be a second wave , and more. That’s how viruses work. As a society and a country we cannot afford the economic damage caused by closing everything down. It cannot be sustained by any nation because that’s not how economies work. Selling lockdowns as a route to being “ safe” is in short, a lie. We’re unlikely to be safer, but we do know more about the virus now. A vaccine may never happen, as we don’t have a vaccine for a known Coronavirus yet. Why pretend this virus is going away any time soon ? Why pretend no one else is going to die from it ? We have enough data now to know that the virus isn’t a very high risk to most people. We humans haven’t yet come up with a cure for death, and as a race we have a new cause of death on our hands. There are many others and we don’t sit inside and hide from them. We don’t destroy our economic foundation and reinvent our entire way of life because they exist. We don’t sacrifice our natural rights to government out of fear. Panic and fear are sold to the populace in order to take control of them.
  19. Hear ! hear ! This is what the left does not understand. It really comes down to policy, and rejection of the complicit media and political establishment. I happen to like Trump’s style, but I understand when even some of those who support him do not. Still, the choice is between policies. Trump’s are mostly good, and the policies proposed by the Dems universally suck. Even if the Democrats had the most likeable candidate in the world ( and they don’t by a long shot ) their generally deranged policy ideas assign them to the scrap heap.
  20. Yes, and they’ve also been very protective of their unhygienic, coronavirus spreading mass transit system. They’ve only recently conceded by closing it 4 hours a night for disinfection.
  21. Doc, I’m completely on board with this approach. While we may disagree politically, I also recognize and appreciate your contributions to this board. As you state, this really should not be a political issue. It’s a health issue with drastic economic consequences that are not sustainable. We can’t pretend that people won’t fall victim to this virus if we wait things out. We just don’t have the luxury of time, and the medical world is working on this as fast as it is able. Reaching herd immunity is likely our best weapon against Covid 19 and the sooner we can get there the better.
  22. ^^^This. It’s about power and politics; “ safe” and “ safety” have become the most overused terms by lefty politicians. It’s a falsehood, and it’s being used to justify outrageous power grabs. There is no being “ safe” from this (or any other )virus. We won’t be any safer a month or two or six from now than we currently are. It’s a stall tactic, and it’s also a lie.
  23. Exactly. Seems crazy as infection rate isn’t that high yet. It will be interesting to see what small Island nations that are completely reliant on tourism economically do. They’d have a severely limited group who would be permitted to travel there.
  24. I’m wondering how the Caribbean is going to deal with the Coronavirus issue. There is still uncertainty over the immunity level with this anyway. I’m going to get an antibody test, but if it’s negative a system like this is worrisome. I’d be looking to be given Coronavirus just so I could be “permitted” to travel.
