McD Once Again Mismanaged an End of a Half
oldmanfan replied to HIT BY SPIKES's topic in The Stadium Wall
Learn the damn rules. You have to take a TO with an injury in the last 2 minutes of the half. -
The dumb pick puts them right back in the game
-
Why do we have to accept stupidity? Would we with any other player?
-
And it’s dumb.

The dumb Josh returns. You can set your watch by it, a dumb pick a game.

When the one OC leaves to take a HC job you’re not “going through” him. -

I do think Dunne has issues with the Bills organization. As for McD, if he’s lost the locker room then a change would be in the best interest of all concerned. The remainder of this season will be telling. If we fold and lose the majority if not all the games then he needs to go. If they mount a charge and get to the playoffs then no. I am tired of reading certain things. I am tired reading about him being narcissistic or other negatives. Many people in leadership positions are highly driven and highly egocentric; that kind of trait helps push one to the top. I’m also tired of reading about how we’re wasting Josh’s prime years. He has a good 10-12 years left especially if he gets smarter with his runs. My gut is McD will be out at the conclusion of this season. But then comes the hardest things is sports, identifying a guy who will be a successful HC. There is no way to do so until you put a guy in place and see if he has what it takes. My fear is we all assume the grass will be greener with a change. But history and experience in life tell us many times the grass becomes more brown.

If he loses the locker room, then that would be a reason to make a change. Using a questionable analogy to make a point about planning (and as dastardly a deed as it was, it did require a high degree of planning) is not a reason to get rid of a guy. I think the rest of the season goes one way or the other. The team either loses out in which case a coaching change is mandated, or they go on a run, in which case a change is not. The stuff in the article about control freak, etc. is fairly characteristic of HC's not to mention CEOs of complex organizations.

Joe Brady on the Allen/Davis Miscommunication
oldmanfan replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
Davis is the current whipping boy, replacing Brown whose play has improved. Brown of course replaced Edmunds, and I can't remember who Edmunds replaced. And so on. -
Addressing the "Josh Allen is TO machine" narrative
oldmanfan replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
All this is rationalization. Teams that win the turnover battle win the majority of times. ergo the less turnovers the better. Josh has thrown his share of picks. He's a great QB but it's an area he can improve. It's OK to say this without being thought of as a Josh hater or such. -

And it could be even better if he hadn’t thrown the picks. Why is it so GD hard for folks to get the concept that, as great a QB as Josh is, you can always improve, and in his case it would be by throwing less interceptions? -
I hope that Beane stops listening to McDermott when drafting

‘M not saying Williams can step in and play at Milano’s level. I am saying he’ll be his backup and move in should Milano get hurt again. And Bernard and to an extent Shakir should be enough for people to quit thinking a guy is trash after just their rookie year. -

Yep, thanks for clarifying. I suspect he’ll be a priority -

Even at C they have Bates waiting to take over, and the kid Anderson as well. -
So now we are just assuming our backup, a guy who hasn't played yet, will stink. I'd put a ton of $$ down on other teams' chat rooms saying the same thing about each of the backups mentioned in the OP. and for the record, I'd take Kyle Allen over Trubisky in a heartbeat. Just to name one.
