  1. Things have to go pretty perfect for any team to win a championship
  2. When we win Sunday they’ll be folks unhappy we’re 5-2. There would be people unhappy if we finished 18-2.
  3. The guy who predicted we’d lose to the Raiders.
  4. So you would fire a guy if it meant the new guy would get you one step closer but still lose. Well, that makes sense... The problem you have is you’re not Nostradamus. The stats on former HCs of Super Bowl teams taking another team to the dance are pretty poor if memory serves correct. And picking a coordinator hoping they become a great HC aren’t great either.
  5. But I never said worse. You did. What I said is people always think the grass is greener but it rarely is. So let’s say you replace a guy like McD with brand X. You are doing so to make the next jump, and for the Bills it would be a Lombardi. As you showed in the list of folks you mentioned many did not get their teams to make the next jump. I find it interesting you use Marty S as an example since so many folks accuse McD of being another Marty I.e. can’t win the big one. Be careful what you ask for, you might not get it. You disagree that’s fine.
  6. In general. You are placing a specific set of circumstances on changing coaches. I’m not. And you cited a couple of examples to prove your point but also acknowledged they didn’t win championships.
  7. The two hardest things in sports to me are finding a real QB and, regardless of the sport, finding a great HC. It is far more common for coaching switches not to work.
  8. We should be 5-1. We didn’t have it in London, that was a legit loss. But Josh losing his mind in the second half against the Jets caused that, and luckily should be an isolated event.
  9. Your described situation is like Gruden and Dungy in Tampa Bay. It can happen. I would argue the idea that firing a guy and assuming the replacement will be better, only to find out he isn’t, is more common.
  10. And when one does, and then hire a former SB winner, they are seeing right now how that works out.
  11. We had it in the 13 second year. We should have tackled all their receivers at the line if needed.
  12. True. But he helped get them there. Great OC. But will he be a great HC. The NFL is littered with good coordinators that didn’t turn out to be good head coaches.
  13. You seem to be focused on the negative. That Josh will fall off. That we won’t replace guys. But look at things objectively. We have guys like Bernard on D; everyone thought he was a bust but look at him. Williams looks like another. Once Kincaid gets going another. Torrence. Cook. Bates will step in for Morse. And so on. Wasting? Come on. They are consistently in the playoffs. The 13 second stupidity was just that. Last year they ran out of gas due to injury and a teammate almost dying.
  14. I’m saying he’s an excellent passer now and will only improve as he gains more experience reading defenses and such. So his window to win a Lombardi is pretty long in contrast to your view.
  15. I think Payton was a little bit better than Josh, don’t you think? Anyway my comment is more directed at Sean Payton.
  16. Wouldn’t have anything to do with a guy named Manning? And ask them how they like Payton, who as I recall many here wanted to fire McD for.
  17. Unfortunately I do as well because I think it will be hard to overcome the loss of Tre, Matt, and DaQuan.
  18. People always think the grass is greener, but many more times than not the grass actually becomes a dark brown color. Ask Broncos fans.
  19. Except of course the three blowouts this year when he was making good reads, getting the ball out quick, and spreading it around. Right?
  20. Your words, not mine. Except I think you meant mediocrity as medicity is not a word in the English language to my knowledge.
  21. I’m sorry. Does Josh not throw that ball well enough for you? Will he not continue to gain experience in things like reading defenses? The window with Josh is at least a decade. Hopefully taken care of this year.
  22. Everyone just wants mediocrity. No one wants a Lombardi. You nailed it.
  23. So Josh’s age is an issue, when people were clamoring about the Jets getting a 40 year old Rogers meant a championship for them? Please. I confess to losing it momentarily when they called yet another dumb delay out of the shotgun and posting to fire Dorsey. But rationality quickly resumed. The Bills are doing well offensively and defensively. They could do better on both sides of the ball but there is hardly need for doom and gloom. Will they win it all? Maybe but odds are long. Both because odds are always long, and because losing three All Pro caliber guys may be too much to overcome. But the fun of being a fan is to watch things and see what happens.
  24. They need to take that out of the playbook, burn it, and bury the ashes.
