NFL wants to eliminate "hip drop" tackles
oldmanfan replied to BaaadThingsMan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Play flag football then. If you can’t tackle guys around the legs then smaller defenders will just get run over. You can’t even breathe on a QB anymore. If you’re a microsecond late hitting a WR he’s defenseless. It’s a physical game and by whittling down what type of physicality is permissible you eventually get to the point where the game can’t be played or officiated. -

What’s your opinion of Gabe Davis on this play?

Let's not get ridiculous looking for things to criticize. -

As always well stated -
He didn’t need to check down in the Chiefs game because their D allowed Davis to get wide open time after time.

Purposeful exaggeration isn’t helping your argument. I don’t see anyone saying Josh is the cause of all the issues on offense. Dorsey certainly got his share, and I don’t know if I have a calculator with enough space to add up how many times the O line and specifically Brown has been criticized, not to mention Davis. All I am pointing out, as others are, is Josh needs to cut down on turnovers. Turnovers aren’t good. Never have been. I honestly think Josh needs a guy who is not afraid to get in his face and challenge him. I’ve said several times this week Brady always said he wanted hard coaching. I think Josh would benefit. We’ll see if Brady does that now that he’s the guy in control. No team would bring a guy from outside in with 7 weeks left and still with a playoff shot. Wouldn’t have time to install his offense.

I believe if you look at it one of the stats that have passed the test of time is that teams that lose the turnover battle lose games. And yes, other people make mistakes and are held accountable. Josh should be no different. True about Kelly. Also true that we never won a SB with him as great as he was.

Turnovers cost games. That is truth. Your QB can’t be leading the league in turnovers. We’ll see if Brady helps. Every guy in the offense should look in the mirror and ask what they can do to be better. And that includes Allen. My fear is that no matter who the OC is Josh is not going to learn or accept the concepts. We hired the guy he wanted in Dorsey and it failed. If the same thing happens with the next guy when does it stop?

Again the truth hurts. You think Josh is a hero and can do no wrong. It is evident from your posts. You have never to my knowledge said anything negative. Even in this thread you try to justify his high turnover rate by saying the defense should get more turnovers, as if one has to do with the other. Josh is a great talent. Every Bills fan wants him here his entire career and to succeed. But he has flaws to be corrected. Brady once said he wanted to be coached hard. Shouldn’t Josh get the same?

Sorry but Josh needs to take responsibility for his issues too. Look at the second pick last night. That is the third time this season he’s been suckered into that throw and he does not learn. Fourth and 1 and he throws 10-1( yards downfield instead of just running for the yard when he had room. Glad Dorsey’s gone, and hopefully Brady can do better. But when your QB leads the league in turnovers that’s on him to fix.

Miller should retire. He is a shell of his former self.

Once upon a time when I was younger I'd be pissed
oldmanfan replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
I texted my daughters last night that I’m not even mad. It’s been clear for a while this team just doesn’t have it this year. -
This team simply does not have it this year. Injuries on defense are a legitimate excuse. But here are the non-legitimate ones: 1. Coaching: Dorsey does not grasp the simple concept that you go with what works until the other guy proves he can stop it. Last night should have been all about running the ball. But he dicked around instead. Special teams coach should have made sure to kick it away from Mims, and the 12 men on the field is obvious. But as HC McD is responsible for it all, and he along with many on his staff are failing at their jobs this season. 2. Josh: Sorry but as much as his completion percentage was high and such going into the game, he is not playing well this year. Blame it on coaching, a supposed pregnant waitress, doing commercials, whatever, but he has frankly sucked in several games this year including last night. You cannot be successful with a QB that turns the ball over so much. 3. Stupidity: The 12 men on the field is emblematic of an issue the team has had all year. The stupid penalties, stupid clock management, stupid play calling, you name it. Dumb teams do not win, and this team is dumb. sometimes you have to take a step back to take two steps forward. This season is a huge step back.

I’m not even sad. We just don’t have it this year. Even if they score and pull out the win it doesn’t really matter much.
-
Should have been another pick. And now the special teams suck.

If I’m McD I walk over to Josh and scream at him to get his head in the game.
