Joe Brady on the Allen/Davis Miscommunication
oldmanfan replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
Davis is the current whipping boy, replacing Brown whose play has improved. Brown of course replaced Edmunds, and I can't remember who Edmunds replaced. And so on. -
Addressing the "Josh Allen is TO machine" narrative

All this is rationalization. Teams that win the turnover battle win the majority of times. ergo the less turnovers the better. Josh has thrown his share of picks. He's a great QB but it's an area he can improve. It's OK to say this without being thought of as a Josh hater or such. -

And it could be even better if he hadn’t thrown the picks. Why is it so GD hard for folks to get the concept that, as great a QB as Josh is, you can always improve, and in his case it would be by throwing less interceptions? -
I hope that Beane stops listening to McDermott when drafting

‘M not saying Williams can step in and play at Milano’s level. I am saying he’ll be his backup and move in should Milano get hurt again. And Bernard and to an extent Shakir should be enough for people to quit thinking a guy is trash after just their rookie year. -

Yep, thanks for clarifying. I suspect he’ll be a priority -

Even at C they have Bates waiting to take over, and the kid Anderson as well. -
So now we are just assuming our backup, a guy who hasn't played yet, will stink. I'd put a ton of $$ down on other teams' chat rooms saying the same thing about each of the backups mentioned in the OP. and for the record, I'd take Kyle Allen over Trubisky in a heartbeat. Just to name one.

Take a deep breath and think. Milano has been in the league how long? Now how long has Williams been in the league? Thay's right, Williams is a rookie and he's learning. I'll bet you were among those saying we had no replacement for Edmunds and that Bernard stunk based on his rookie year as well. Am I right? -

They have Milano’s replacement with Williams, just as they had Edmunds replacement in Bernard. I think Jones is signed for next year? -

Chris Russo had an interesting comment relating to this and the Bills. His take basically was that the league would be crazy not to want the Bills and Josh in the playoffs so they could showcase on of their superstars. So you’d think if it was fixed it would be to the bills benefit.

Sources say ZERO PERCENT chance McD is fired
oldmanfan replied to Brand J's topic in The Stadium Wall
Only way I see it is if they collapse and lose out, or if the team leaders go to Brandon or Terry and say he’s lost the locker room. -

Addressing the "Josh Allen is TO machine" narrative
oldmanfan replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Harvard Sports Initiative published a study showing that having one less turnover in a game gives you an almost 70% greater chance of winning a game, and if 2-3 it goes up to 80-90%. Ergo, it would help them team to throw less picks. Math can be simple. -
You will never be able to add enough technology to make calls foolproof and have games that last 3 hours. No matter what is done there will always be a measure of human interpretation and error. So for me? Get rid of replay, accept that human error is part of the game, only call egregious penalties, and move on.

And what did I say? That’s he’s a great QB. You did read that, right? But he also should throw less picks. He leads the league. He can improve on that. Are you saying that’s wrong? If you are, then honestly you either have to be a relative or a girl friend. -

Tell TBD the truth. You don’t really live in Cinci; you’re either Josh’s girl friend or mother. No one else would go to such insane depths to defend the guy. He’s a great QB. He needs to stop throwing so many picks. Those are not mutually exclusive. Move on. -
The NFL = Not For Long. We’ve had some guys who’ve broken that rule to a degree, and their time will come to an end this off-season. Poyer, Morse, Neal, maybe Tre, the sad news about Miller (sad in terms of the woman that was attacked) may take care of that on its own. Davis probably won’t be resigned. Epenesa may not either unless they decide to keep him vs. Floyd. And younger guys will have to take their place and step up. That’s the NFL. And we see evidence of that with the Bills. Jackson and Benford at CB. Can Lewis is stepping up. The Online is playing better for those of who who’ve bashed Brown. Shakir is stepping up. Rapp at S. And so on. Beane will have to draft well, free agency will have to be used carefully. But that’s what he gets paid for.

Both McD and Beane report directly to Terry. This has been know for a while I believe.

McD on late game decisions - "Hindsight is always 20/20"
oldmanfan replied to HomeskillitMoorman's topic in The Stadium Wall
Those attacking McD personally can put it where the sun don’t shine. Devoted family man of faith from all accounts. But I would argue he made two really bad decisions yesterday, one of which he has made too many times: 1. Calling a TO to ice the kicker. That does nothing to a pro kicker 2. Taking the ball out of the hands of a great QB with 20 seconds left. -
That’s the point. If he thinks he can still play
