  1. Neither the Jets or the Bills gave up much for a shot at a franchise QB. It was a great deal for both organizations.
  2. If we want to talk about great defenses, it comes down to pass rushers & playmakers in the secondary. You want both!
  3. I don't see it that way with Darby. You have Tre for ~4 years on a cheap rookie deal. I just watched the Broncos keep three top tier CBs in Roby, Harris, and Talib together for 4 years. They could have made it work if they wanted to, but they just didn't value him. I think it was a mistake, but that shipped has sailed. While it is good to see competence in the organization, I'm just not that high on them yet. For better or worse, it will come down to Allen and what he becomes. Is he the guy that can someday toast New England on the road, or a shined up version of the Wyoming QB who threw 0 TDs, 3 picks and 3.7 YPA against Power 5 opponents in 2017? We'll see.
  4. I am cautiously optimistic about the direction we are heading. Beane and McD changed the culture of this team, but they also lay the "coachspeak" on heavy. The news doesn't have too many stories to run with, unlike Rex's big mouth and Whaley's cluelessness. Darby is the only player I am bummed we moved on from. Young, talented and cheap corners don't grow on trees. I want to like Allen, but I just can't get excited about a guy who played as mediocre as he did in college. I really hope he proves me wrong.
  5. I don't either, but 100% Andrew Luck wasn't all that it was cracked up to be. After all the hype, the best QB of that draft was the 5'11" 3rd rounder.
  6. Oh, it's going to be an amazing show, but I've been lazy and haven't grabbed as many tickets as I should. I did have to sell my kidney to get Mrs. Electric Justin Timberlake tickets for 2019.
  7. Dragging my feet, only got Ryan Adams @ RR so far.
  8. Is he throwing Nerf footballs yet, or is he still stuck on tennis balls?
  9. The take out is a godsend! Skip the line and bring your food next door to ABW.
  10. They haven't released the pictures of the kids who were massacred today. That might play with your heart a bit. I remain hopeful, for better or worse, that there are bi-partisan solutions out there than can fix this.
  11. Boyst, I think it's safe to say that "we hear what we want to hear". You should write to your representatives and tell them to keep up the good work. I'll write to mine. Peace.
  12. I've been called worse. Statistics don't support your case. Ask the FBI themselves: https://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/25/us/25shooters.html 4 massacres in the past 8 months with 10-59 fatalities. There are many things that are getting better, but not this.
  13. Can't tell if Boyst is serious or just trolling the waters. Either way, take a lap. I don't care what statistics you want to roll out. Mass shootings are on the rise and we've got to figure out a way to stop that trend.
  14. Here are a few ideas. School security & layout, mental health resources, enforcement of existing legislation and access to firearms. I am sure that there are opportunities for improvement in each of these areas. "Take a deep breath, It'll be OK" is a really lazy response. Remember when a bunch of kiddos got mowed down 3 months ago? We need to do something, and there many avenues to do so beyond a !@#$ing hashtag.
  15. Write to your senators and tell them "this is not good enough". Kids getting killed at school. Ugh. I hate this story.
  16. Their version of "Trust the Process" is lame. Chip on the shoulder? He's got a $140m contract. I think he's got all the motivation he'll ever need right there If he plays this year, I think it's going to be ugly. He was always a bit sloppy and turnover prone, I don't think he's going to get better after not throwing a football for 18 months.
  17. It's probably a pretty lame party. Too much tea and scones, too little tequila shooters and naked pillow fights.
  18. I think Meghan Markle is pretty hot. That is all.
  19. He's been coached for months by his agents on how to respond to the media, along with every other rookie in the NFL. This is a non story that proves nothing about his ability to play in this league. If we want to talk about swagger, I don't know, Allen doesn't strike me as the type. Seems like an "aw shucks" type Mayfield, Jackson and Rosen have more of it, for better or worse.
  20. "Putting TMZ in check" LOL. That was swagger? Giving the paparazzi a few nondescript, bland responses? Give me a break.
  21. Thurman's running style is so cool to watch, it's almost like he was gliding out there!
  22. Go Chad! Paxton needs some competition. It sounds like CK is doing all the right things. The defense was not an issue last year. If the offense wasn't so terribly inept, they would have crushed it. I think they'll make some improvements from 5-11, but not sure if they are playoff caliber yet.
  23. I know that the general public's view of a coach is quite limited, but I just don't know where Jauron shined. I'm sure he's a great coach, all NFL coaches are, but he doesn't strike me as a "schemer", motivator, player whisperer, any of that... What was he exactly?
  24. Shady is an elite player in this league. I think that's what Mcdermott is looking. If you want my serious answer on the matter, no, I don't think it matters to McD. Faith absolutely can play a positive role in your perspective and personality, but it is not a prerequisite for being humble, driven, dedicated, team first, etc. etc.
