  1. It's not like the Steelers weren't trying. It sounds like they put some decent deals on the table. He should have just taken their $60 million contract in 2017. Seriously.
  2. Yes, he can. He'll play this year and hopefully look great. If he looks terrible, then yeah, the boo birds are going to fly.
  3. Sure, what's your point? We throw around "best ever" titles to guys who can't beat out 5 Pick Peterman? We all know he has a big arm. If he can't hit a guy in stride with that big arm, which is the major worry with Allen, it doesn't really matter. This could be caused by panicking under pressure, or failing to read a defense quickly. Both of those are pretty challenging to correct.
  4. The "greatest arm ever" chatter is getting out of hand. Anyway, I've shared my thoughts on Allen plenty of times. I have my doubts, but really hope I'm wrong.
  5. Allen starts by Halloween. McCoy gets 1000+, but his YPC is below 4.0 Star has a disappointing year I'll take 5-11
  6. I'm not referring to fry time, I'm referring to when you sauce the wings afterwards. They can get soft pretty quickly. This is all nitpicking. I'll take a quality batch of Buffalo wings anytime, but overall, dry rub -> smoker -> finish with sauce is my #1.
  7. ...and there likes the "problem" with traditional Buffalo style. Soggy skin! If you want to douse it in sauce, it needs a little time on the grill to set so it's not a sloppy mess. I use a tomato based hot sauce, thinned with a bit of water, when the wings are 90% done. Brush it on, cook for 10-15 minutes, and you're golden!
  8. It's not like the Bills weren't trying, it sounds like they put some respectable offers on the table. They clearly didn't have an issue with it, they just got outbid.
  9. Ryan Pace's comments regarding the draft pick giveaway were interesting: “When we look at this next draft, right, our first-round pick is Khalil Mack and our next round pick is Anthony Miller,” Pace said. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bears/ryan-pace-makes-compelling-counter-draft-capital-argument-khalil-mack-blockbuster Gruden is going to run this team into the ground. I just don't get his moves.
  10. Nope, if that's the case, Beane and Mcdermott are going down with the ship!
  11. It all comes down to Allen for me. If he looks like a guy who will be the best QB in the AFC East by 2020, I'm stoked!
  12. It wasn't an ideal situation. This is his 3rd offensive coordinator in 3 years. But still....you're a 1st rounder with tremendous physical ability, make a play! The "competition" the last two years was heavily slanted in his favor and he still got steamrolled.
  13. What do you think the Broncos have been doing with him for the past 2.5 years?
  14. I really wanted Lynch to work out in Denver, but he has terrible vision, poor accuracy and plays with zero confidence. The guy has gotten beat out by a 7th rounder 3 times! Hard pass.
  15. I've had great wings in many places. I like Buffalo style, but prefer a dry rub & smoke combo. Finish it with a butter & garlic hot sauce and it's money. Blue cheese only, ranch is for the loonies. Wallenwein's is one of my favorites, pretty sure they just throw a wing into the frier with no seasoning, then dunk it in the butter/hot sauce mix. It's not rocket science. Beef on weck is also not rocket science, but I've had little success it finding it outside of WNY. Bar Bill is my undisputed #1 in the BoW category, but the conga line to get a seat is annoying, especially around the holidays. We prefer to get take out and head to ABW next door.
  16. Let's say your right. With what we've seen from historically, that could be his floor. If his floor is 10 sacks and a Pro Bowl, sign me up!
  17. That defense was terrible, but he put up 10+ for the last three years. Chicago is a much better situation.
  18. Draft picks are just opportunities. The odds of finding a player trending towards a gold jacket are rare, especially one like Mack who brings elite production against the run and pass. It's an expensive deal for the Bears, but I don't see how you can price a truly elite player for anything less than 2 firsts.
  19. What are the odds that you'll get a defensive player of Mack's caliber in the draft? Seriously. It's probably below 5%.
  20. Well, we are talking about elite deals. Rodgers, OBJ and Donald are each at different points in their career, but all three have HOF traits and production. In 4 years, they'll each be bargains.
  21. Watt is an anomaly. He plays 34 DE, can move across the line as he sees fit (thanks Wade Philips!) and can still crank out 18+ sacks. Insane. Donald has taken his throne (maybe temporarily) as the best defensive linemen in the game. Smart teams should pay the individual, based his character and production. The failure of other players and teams shouldn't be a factor. If Donald has a history of sulking and injuries, maybe you second guess it, but that has never been the narrative with him.
  22. Then you're not going to be keeping an elite pass rusher around, because going forward, the market has dictated that it's $20m+ to get the conversation started. Donald has HOF traits, production and will be in the prime of his career for many years. You don't walk away from that because he's expensive.
  23. Cap keeps going up and they will not being paying Suh, Talib and Whitford then. That's ~$35 million right there. He produces better numbers than most defensive ends and outside linebackers.
