Stephon Gilmore knee injury potential?
Buffalo716 replied to Seasons1992's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he knocked Eddie Lacy out of a football game, who was the biggest and strongest running back in football at that time Gilmore also got hurt, he hit him so hard. There were plenty of plays where Gilmore was physical. He played with a broken wrist and still tried tackling But he was a soft bum here and that narrative will never go away lol -
Micah Hyde's Last Season In Buffalo?
Buffalo716 replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Aaron Williams was one of the first picks of the second round He wasnt a late round pick Most scouts including myself also had him as a safety, but the bills got cute trying to put him at corner. He was my #1 safety in the class -

In my day I would swim upstream both ways to school in a flood -
Well primarily I think they need to start getting younger, not older Phillips clearly doesn't look like he's back from last year's injury, and we have a deep rotation, though it's not clearly established yet In the off-season I think we should go after a traditional one-tech in free agency, which should be doable. Him and star could be our 1s And draft another defensive end early. Pair a talented young end, with Oliver and the one techs, and hopefully Darryl Johnson or epenesa will step up with a more talented front Our d line is slowly jelling but we're pretty old

What do you think a good kicking game is four for four? Three for four even in the right circumstances could be a good game Not all kicks are equal, and he absolutely booted some clutch kicks It was easily an above average performance When you factor in how much we needed the kicks.. If he made both of them it would have been one of the best performances of all time He's probably going to win special teams player of the week, they don't give that to somebody who performed bad

Why the defense got it's mojo back

Tre white might not be playing at an All-Pro level But you have bear goggles on if you think he's been horrible. The dude still doesn't give up touchdowns, and doesn't get beat deep I could literally name 40 outside corners who get beat worse -
Bass also had a rough week one. That was by far his worst week Take that week away and his numbers look a lot better He's getting more confidence and has a live leg we literally don't win the game without him yesterday and there's not a kicker we could get that would make those kicks he made from 45 plus out He absolutely deserves credit for his pressure kicking He's going to win special teams player of the week and people are trashing him

Exactly It's crazy how people act like the Jets are an actual college football team. Being one of the 32 is one of the most privileged things in any sport And every player is fighting for their job. I will guarantee the Jets will beat another NFL team this season They played hard for 13 minutes. And the bills took over, we just didn't put the ball in the endzone -
One of the more hollow 300-yard games you've ever seen? Our offense was moving all day The dude had over 30 completions I've seen hollow 300 yard games where quarterbacks have had 200 yards in the 4th quarter. This was nowhere near a hollow 300 yard game just because drives stalled we're a illlegal formation penalty and Kroft tripping over the 20 yard line away from 370 yards and two touchdowns

Why the defense got it's mojo back

Obviously the Jets abandoning the run helped And the first quarter was by far their most successful quarter As they became more predictable, it allowed McDermott and Frazier to get them in the downs and distances that they like And draw up some of the combo coverages that they like to play.. which they seem to have gotten away from for some reason in the first 6 weeks this season McDermott and Frazier have always been good at confusing quarterbacks on third down but has gotten away from it a bit this year -

They got back to their MO on 3rd down which is showing dual a gap looks on third down.. playing combination coverages and overload blitzes The first 6 weeks when we've been getting gaseds on 3rd and 15, and even in the first quarter verse the jets we've been playing basic cover four or cover 2 Which is not what Sean McDermott and Frasier have been doing successfully here -

Exactly It doesn't matter who the Bills beat . It matters that they get some confidence back , and start playing instead of thinking -

I don't disagree with a lot of what you said But I know that every player in the league is talented, and they're all playing for their future. And on any Sunday any team could win This was the opposite of a game the Bills lost for the last 20 years. We would go up 10-0 and then sputter out for the last three quarters We're finally the team taking charge when the game matters -

Again I don't think I said they are arrived for the season. Or that everything is fixed. There's a long way to go On this singular day, they had their groove back. Especially in the second half. The Jets best drive of the day was in the first quarter and they were desperate. But the Bills absolutely had their best performance all season I don't care who it came against it's an NFL team, and it's something to build on which is key -

Literally some Bills fans don't deserve a winning team lol We won because our kicker kicked six field goals and people want him cut. We held an NFL offense to five passing yards in a half and people are trashing our performance defensively There are only 32 NFL teams in the world and the Jets are one of them, and I'd be willing to bet they don't go 0-16. They're going to beat another NFL team
