  1. At 25 years old, Im not sure he'd be a stopgap. I'm guessing a nice 4 yr deal and he becomes our starter whilst mentoring a draft pick pick as well. As you said, I still see us drafting a good TE, maybe just not as high as day one or two, unless the value can't be denied. Otherwise, with JJ and Croom on the roster, we could probably hold of till 4th rd and snag somebody. Just a thought....
  2. "Goes both ways" & "Tight End" don't belong in the same sentence. Its like saying Jumbo Shrimp , or Same Difference ?
  3. Yeah, they are strapped for cash. Gonna be hard to sign a guy like John Brown unless they get real creative, which would likely only hurt them down the road. But again, as you said, Ben might have a couple years left unless he decides to bail. Maybe one more run for them, but unless their draft class makes an immediate impact this year, or even next, they seem like they're on their way downhill, relatively speaking. IMO of course...
  4. So, both AB and Bell are gone. Big Ben has been contemplating retirement in recent years. This sounds like the end of that dynasty. I see Ben playing one more year, and then the Mason Rudolph/Juju/ Conner era officially begins
  5. Where Info Bombs aren't the only bombs being dropped?
  6. Liz Gonzales has QB sized hands! Holy crap!!! She might get a camp invite before Kap ?
  7. Okay, McD has had 2 drafts. Beane 1. They cut a bunch of guys who weren't "their" guys, signed some guys. That by NO MEANS indicates that they now have all of "their" guys. I mean c'mon man, do you think they are done collecting "their" guys? Im guessing any chance they get to upgrade the roster in their image, will be taken. Guys they signed are ALL able to be cut if an upgrade presents itself. All we really know for sure is who was NOT their guys, as they were either cut, or traded. You don't remake a 53 man roster in 2 years. Kinda dispels your take if you look at it like that, don't it? ?
  8. Sounds like you were in a high level business meeting to me?
  9. Im looking more likely 2nd-3rd rd. Keep an eye on Isaac Nauta. Kid has decent mitts, but a superb blocking TE. Gotta run the ball late in the year.. Ya know, when weather gets bad and all?
  10. Rd 1 #9) Quinnen Williams DL Alabama Rd 2 #41) Garrett Bradbury C NC State Rd 3 #71) Beau Benzshwabel G Wisconsin Rd 4 #113) Isaac Nauta TE Georgia Rd 4 #131) DeMarcus Lodge WR Miss Rd 5 #149) Terry Mclaurin WR Ohio St Rd 5 #159) William Sweet OT UNC Rd 6 #184) Corbin Kaufusi Edge BYU Rd7 #224) Myles Gaskin RB Washington Rd 7 #230) Iman Marshall CB USC Using fanspeak. If we filled OT in FA, and depth across the board, I'd be more than thrilled with this. I know, I know...Quinnen Williams dropping to 9 would be ridiculous
  11. I suppose. But, if I were offered an interview for a better paying job, but at a less pleasant place of employment, I wouldn't really care what bridge I burned if I declined. I mean, we're not talking Josh Daniels/ Indy here. I understand the NFL and the "club" part of it, but hell, he may not even have been offered the position after interviewing. Just my random 2 cents...
  12. I did not realize that even coordinators were considered lateral positions
  13. I thought they couldn't block a promotion? Defensive coordinator >>> Defensive Backs coach, no?
  14. Lol! NFL can't force owners to sign anybody
  15. believe you are correct sir?
  16. Well, we're short on Williams'...so sure, we need a new motto lol
  17. When was the last TE drafted 10 -15? He's a beast, but its like RB....D-line , edge, QB.maybe O-line. T hats first round talent these days. That said...give me him at 25, and a 2nd rounder, I'm game. Please don't let NE or KC draft him. Actually, BOTH those Iowa TE's are worthy of a 1st rd pick in my opinion
  18. No bud. Just having some fun. Forgive me. I always liked him. His character fits..so does his leadership. So does his availability. If I'm Beane, I'm all over this prior to FA Judicial is the word I believe Beane used to describe FA. This would be it IMO
  19. You've seen a not of him? Let me know what you think after you see him play ?
  20. Ttrivial b.s.. What I said was, he cannot go find a QB. And Flacco will be amongst his failures in that department as well. Lol. He no doubt built a great defense, won a super bowl, but this thread is about Flacco...who CAN NOT PLAY ANYMORE. Do we understand each other now?
  21. Oh my....maybe I've had too much coffee tonight lol hat you don't see. Polian was brought up by YOU...NOT ME. This point was about Flacco....not the rest of the team. Hello?? Are we there yet?? Fact is, Flacco had a good run in the playoffs. So did Rypien. So did Dilfer. So did Doug Williams. They weren't great QB's. And fizzled out. that's my point. Elway hasn't shown ***** outside of that. Can we agree on that? Cuz that's a FACT You came at me sarcastically. Calling out my "expertise" . calling me Polian. Speaking facts. What's a matter sunshine? Ain't that what was said? I'm not seeing your confusion. I broke it down in the most lamen of terms I know how....what's the issue????
  22. He can't find a QB. Period! T hats the fact that you don't see. Cuz that's a FACT
  23. Polian didn't draft Kelly..but he knew enough to get him signed. And enough to take Reich with him to Carolina. And then drafted Peyton Manning. What is your argument??? Elway has not done squat at the one and only position he ever played. Say what you want...Elway is far inferior to Polian as far as evaluating talent at QB. Elway drafted Paxton Lynch. Signed Peyton. And then tried Keenum. Lmao. Its not even close! And this is evidence.he's gonna lose his job after this year. Ok...maybe not evidence, but obvious
  24. The fact remains, he can't play anymore. He overachieved for two years. Great playoff run. T hats it. Reminds me of Mark Rypien. He's toast
