  1. If we were rebuilding, then I don't think Taylor, possibly McCoy, Wood, or Williams would be on the roster. Although he did it last year, I think the pressure on Whaley is currently enough that taking good value players who have to sit a while is akin to him using his rent money to paint the walls -- he's gonna get evicted and then someone else is gonna move in and get the benefit of a newly painted apartment.
  2. You'll pick him where he tells you to pick him, and like it.
  3. Yeah, you run to the podium in the 3rd if he's there. We're not good enough to have one of our top 2 picks sit... again.
  4. I figured why not, but also have fears of Eric Striker-type success happening.
  5. More broadly, it is surprising, given how long the Buffalo and Cleveland franchises have been poor, that they don't deal in cahoots more often. Scratch each others' backs across the lake.
  6. If that's the case, let's make sure we sign Brown just for the tequila
  7. Funny, I've thought of Dobbs as the Taylor-like QB in this class. I like 1, 2, 3, 6, and don't know enough about 5 and 5. Personally, I'd rather go Tankersly than Jackson at 44, but that's just based on size and the NRC release. I also like Evans if S is not close to BPA in rounds 1 or 2.
  8. So... this thread title is misleading
  9. 1: R1P10 CB MARSHON LATTIMORE OHIO STATE 2: R2P12 S BUDDA BAKER WASHINGTON 3: R3P11 QB DAVIS WEBB CALIFORNIA 4: R5P12 EDGE KEIONTA DAVIS CHATTANOOGA 5: R5P27 EDGE JOSH CARRAWAY TCU 6: R6P11 LB JAYON BROWN UCLA
  10. Can just see him passed out in a Bourbon Street gutter...
  11. Not familiar with Roberts, but on board with every other pick. Really hoping Smith-Schuster does last to 75 because I have us taking him there, too, and that's just about maximum value at that point. Carraway, because of his size and coming out of TCU makes me think of a young Hughes, so hopefully that is correct. Would consider Keionta Davis instead there based on his size fit for the scheme. Love the Cannon pick.
  12. If I was looking at what is probably the last significant contract of my career, you can bet your sweet @SS I'm shopping around. And what you wrote in bold is 100% right.
  13. Not sure if it was about that email specifically, but think it was talked about here: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/192874-nfl-to-eliminate-some-commercials/?hl=commercials
  14. touche apparently he's not trying to be a linebacker either, or at least not trying enough: http://jetswire.usatoday.com/2017/01/04/jets-darron-lee-was-nfls-worst-rookie-linebacker/
  15. Yeah, but... how many punts has Lee returned?
  16. So I should basically view Peppers as 2017's Darron Lee?
  17. What do you mean, that was a coverage sack! Haha
  18. Yeah, echoing Mr. Vader above, I think the amount of commercials we'll get will be the amount that's thought to make the most $.
  19. No he's not! No he's not!
  20. 15/16 games last year though, and that was with Olympic instead of NFL training
  21. Always thought Goodwin was a better WR than given credit for because he didn't run only streaks and was a tenacious player in general. Not gonna lose sleep though.
  22. Well I admittedly haven't watched all his tape, and you sound like you have, so I'll have to defer re: coverage ability, but agree he has the skills for it. Will be interesting to see if McDermott thinks he can coach him up, and whether focusing on 1-2 as opposed to 4-5 positions will aid in his development. I want to clarify, I'm not necessarily advocating for taking him at 10, but just that it seems like a good marriage of talent and scheme. I understand his value is more indicative of a mid-to-late 1st round pick.
  23. I mean, he does tackle and make plays on the ball, even if he doesn't create turnovers. And my understanding is that he can cover. Is Byrd the best safety in the NFL because he had a few INTs early on? Plus, I'm not saying Peppers is Mathieu, but that he could be used similarly. Peppers is a decent returner in his own right. Would much rather trade down to get him, but I also see his value for our scheme and obvious emphasis on versatility.
  24. If he's tackling and making plays on the ball, then I'm just as happy to have him returning a punt as returning an interception. I think he very well might be viewed as the new age hybrid type. If you are saying few interceptions = no production, then I have to disagree. I'd have traded a couple of Gilmore's INTs for some more hard/technically sound tackles.
