  1. The first 2 parts in bold: Glenn has missed a lot of time due to injury and is due to make $14 million. The best ability is availability. I would like my 2nd highest paid player to play. The third part in bold: Respectfully, that sounds like a cop out. Everything is a risk when making offseason decisions, but that does not mean OBD should not try to make their risks as calculated as possible.
  2. True, so not as big a loss. Maybe that went into the NFL's thinking in making these choices. Still, the travel is less than ideal.
  3. I agree Taylor and Glenn not being worth their pay. Taylor, I think we either cut and re-sign after he fails to find a better situation, like last year, and he'll compete for the job but end up being a top end QB2/Wildcat for us. Otherwise he'll get traded, I hope. Glenn, I hope they are able to move for a pick, or package with picks to move up in the 1st round. Dawkins made him expendable and we can replace Mills for way less than $14 million. McCoy is a top back in the league and most of of offense. Well worth $9 million. Clay was one of Taylor's favorite targets and will benefit from (hopefully) a new OC and new (better) QB. Benjamin at $8 million is well worth it once he's back into proper playing condition, which he should be. That price for a guy who is at the very least a top end WR2 is good value. Just wish we had given that money to Robert Woods (also set to have a cap hit of $8 million next year). While Wood could stand to play better, I think given his long tenure and leadership, he won't get cut until (and only if) OBD drafts/signs/promotes someone who beats him out in camp. The only way Incognito goes is if the Jaguars game allegations are true.
  4. At least 3 times I've gotten excited because I just see "Bills part ways with Rick Dennison" at first...
  5. Maybe move the London games to Thursday night with a mandatory bye week preceding it for both teams? At least that merges the ugly into one game.
  6. Poor Raiders, Jaguars, and Chargers... Do not mind at all 3 teams we will potentially be vying with for playoff contention having this disadvantage.
  7. Love the LotR reference, but hate tarnishing hobbits by associating them with Brady* At this point, I'm putting my personal expectation of his retirement at age 50, which shouldallow me to be pleasantly surprised. Should. Can't wait until his diet stops working because then I won't mind calling him a stupid, fat hobbit who ruins the rabbit stew.
  8. Keep Incognito and Alexander on the books. Are the cap implications the same if Taylor and/or Glenn are traded?
  9. Some of the best coaching hires in history have been retreads. I wouldn't mind looking at a guy who has been to 2 Super Bowls and won 1 of them, helped develop one of if not the best young QBs in the game, and has done it all with not exactly top notch offensive talent on the lines or at the skill positions. And this year they were not great offensively, but Wilson also accounted for 82.1% of his offense's yards, which is an NFL record, as well as a 34:11 TD:INT ratio. Not pounding the table for him, but still think he should be on the list, maybe even the short list. Also open to looking for the next young up-and-coming guy, but can you give me a few ideas as to who that might be?
  10. It certainly will be interesting to see how many holes they can fill with that cap room, especially with the balanced value signing approach. I hope we retain Gaines. Richardson would be interesting, especially if we cut ties with Dennison and make a run at Bevell.
  11. Okay, I hope he's good because that would be the highest paid OLman by at least $5-6 million per year
  12. If the team has enough holes on the roster, then I would think you would want even more $ to spend on those holes. Given that Glenn has barely played and is at a real risk to continue not playing, that is a hole that already exists. Hypothetical: you have 4/5 OL positions filled with viable starters who all cost below average salaries - do you then pay the 5th OLman $20 million per year just because the other 4 offset it?
  13. Don't you want to have the best balance of cost/talent at every position? I'd take a top 15 RT at $8-9 million per year over Glenn at $14 million per year.
  14. I agree FA could change things. I do think that if they think the 3rd QB in the draft is still a franchise caliber prospect, then who cares if he's the 3rd QB? Eli Manning and Rivers have had great careers, but I would go back and trade the farm for Roethlisberger, wouldn't you? I mean I love Lee Evans, but c'mon now.
  15. The problem is you're still making Glenn the highest paid RT in the league by far when you could find a serviceable starter for 1/2 to 2/3 of his price. Plus, you could probably trade him for a pick or player. If you have a good young cheap WR1 you still don't want to make your WR2 the highest paid WR2 in the league.
  16. If he's willing to restructure, then yeah I think he would be a top 5, if not the best, backup in the league and the ultimate Joe Webb type of gadget/trick play guy. Get him some reps as a HB/WR, too. Why not?
  17. Pick one: (A) best front 7 in the league but Peterman starts (B) below average front 7 but we have a franchise QB
  18. Yeah, I already kind of regret voting how I did if this is assuming availability of these options. Mayfield is my favorite prospect who we stand a chance to draft. Very interested to see his height, although if he's 5'11" I'm not going to count him out anyways. Heck, maybe that drops him a bit... in a good way.
  19. All three are solid NFL starters, no? I would say that means "good QBs" and not "busts" (words from your post). You're going to argue not to take anyone who could get injured? Okay, then we never take a QB. Anyone can get injured. Good job ignoring the "[g]oing back a little bit further" part of my post though.
  20. If it only took two 1sts to get Mayfield, right now I really like him as a prospect, so I would choose that. BUT, I think he's going to go higher than two 1sts will get us, so I choose Rudolph and Jackson. BUT BUT, I also am not convinced that Rudolph and/or Jackson even make it to 21. I think there is going to be a run on QBs in the first and there are a lot of teams ahead of us who could go that route. Either way, I fully support taking 2 QBs. Mayfield & Falk, Rudolph & Jackson, Allen & Lock, whoever. Hedge your bets is my point.
