Kansas City/Tampa Bay on Monday Night Football
MPT replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jawaan Taylor was about 5 yards deep before the ball was snapped on Kelce's catch. Shocking non-call. -

It's a very small pool of candidates whose success is determined mostly by other people. -

Bad time management, and should have gone for two. -

And yet, when the tables are turned, they will never call that on KC. -

Mahomes' teammates had to help him off the field. They got some pointers from the refs who have been helping the Chiefs' defense off the field for years. -

Week 8 - Bills @ Seahawks - 1st half game thread
MPT replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why do refs hate the Bills? Neither of those were even close to a penalty. They picked up an offensive pass interference flag on the Seahawks earlier that was clearly a pick play. Our defensive linemen get held like crazy every single week and we get zero holding calls. I don't understand it. We've been a good team for 6 years and we get treated like we're still in the drought playing against Brady's Patriots every week. -

I heard Belichick recently talking about halftime adjustments and his first comment was, "ideally the adjustments would start well before halftime." McDermott's staff is not capable of that. -

We should fire our OC mid season every year. Just make a tradition of it. -
So about the refs tonight UPDATE: Rams game discussion on page 14

Yes, it was awful for both teams. But it was much more awful for one team than the other. -

I mean, Kinlaw did grab his helmet with both hands and throw him to the ground. Just because Josh embellished it doesn't make it not an obvious RTP. Not like, say, Epenesa making a routine tackle for a sack while holding his full weight off of Rodgers and still getting flagged -

I hope you're being sarcastic. A penalty that doesn't help the Bills' kickoff at all is not the same as one that gives the Jets 15 yards instead of having to punt. -

Met Life went dark for some "unknown reason" and the Jets took that opportunity to start a fight on the field. Which of course ended with Dawkins getting a personal foul. Epenesa was holding himself up with one arm to prevent himself from falling too hard on Rodgers and still got flagged. Kinlaw basically threw Josh to the ground by the helmet so that was an obvious one. -
And with the referees and the video review officials in NY doing everything possible to give NY the game.

If it's 3rd and 18 then I'd rather have a QB willing to take a shot down field and risk an interception than one who will dump it off for 3 yards to save his stats. And a pass is much more accurate than a kick so it's more likely to be downed with better field position.

Especially considering the injuries. I'll take it. Even though we could have easily been 5-1, I'll take it.

Have there ever been so many phantom personal fouls against one team in the history of football? ***** the refs. Go Bills -

I mean we're dominating this game but it's hard to play when they're handing the Jets 15 yards every time we touch their players. -

Maybe when it happens once it might be on the players. This kind of garbage happens constantly. At some point you have to look at the common denominator. -
What’s the problem, Allen, Brady, Oline, Talent?
MPT replied to Meatloaf63's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's almost all on Brady. And the rest on McDermott. If you run every 1st down, you are giving the defense an advantage on every single sequence. First 3 games, lots of pre-snap motion. Next 2 games, very little pre-snap motion. One of the best TE tandems in the league? Ignore them, scheme up deep throws to Mack Hollins. The sequence at the end of the Houston game to give them the ball back and let them kick a FG? I mean, talk about a coaching blunder that only the author of "13 seconds" could have concocted. Don't tell me about a lack of talent at WR. Yeah, it can cover up bad coaching (see: Bengals) but you don't need it (see: Chiefs). We have a coaching staff that will announce their identity and never deviate. When is the last time you ever saw McDermott tailor his game plan to the opponent? He has his scheme and it works most of the time, but he'll never minimize his opponents' strengths or attack their weaknesses. It was the same with Dorsey and it's the same with Brady. Reid and Spagnuolo are the best because they tailor every single game for their opponent. Just like Belichick and Brady did. Most coaches, including ours, just don't have the capacity for it. -
The Lions keeping Goff in that game past halftime is malpractice and they'll be hearing from my fantasy team's lawyer.
-
The second paragraph debunks the first. To whom do you think Josh is passing the ball? Shakir just set a record for most consecutive targets caught. Cook won AFC player of the week. The offensive line is the best Josh has ever had. We have the best tight end duo in the league. Our rookie wide receiver makes spectacular contested catches. We lost to Baltimore because we were missing arguably our three best defenders and McDermott did absolutely nothing to mitigate the Ravens' run game and Joe Brady called a terrible game. Not because of anything the GM did.
-
Yeah that's what I saw as well. Dawkins got cooked and it blew up the whole play. Not giving Brady any excuses though. The blocking scheme on that play was terrible. Whoever was lined up to the left of Dawkins pulled to the right side and basically rubbed Dawkins out of position to block the edge.

So far WR group looks like a dumpster fire

Maybe you can enlighten us about the Ravens' defensive formations. That would probably increase the quality of the thread and better inform us.
