  1. Whatever influence Brandon has/had was hurt yesterday when McD further bolstered his position by bringing in Beane who on the surface looks like his right hand man and nothing more. That's a good thing no matter what, right? At least McD and Beane are football guys as opposed to Brandon. I'm not going to debate Hue Jackson vs. Rex and all that. It's missed time and they ruined a little window where they could have won 10 games? Sorry I'm not that excited about the potential of a 10 win season with Kyle Orton at QB. Whaley had more than enough chances to demonstrate a long term strategy and even today I beg someone to illustrate just wtf he was doing. I don't expect immediate results in the win column but they have already taken some steps to clean up the mess. Get through this year, address the QB position, find some modern day linebackers, keep these guys in the playbook and off the pool table...lets just see where it ends up.
  2. I have said I would have like the more traditional approach, as in firing Whaley/Rex on the same day and then finding a GM first. That didn't happen. I have also mentioned that one on one dinner and how much we may hear about it if things go sour with McDinner guest. As of now he has the Pegula's trust and the only thing they could do was allow him to hire Beane. They backed themselves into that corner, not me. I hope it works out. The GM/Coach will now be a unified voice and that hurts anyone with outside influence on football matters, including the Pegula's. Even if it's a round table of decision makers taking a popular vote the coach and GM will win more than they lose. I'm also under the belief that they have been taking advice from someone outside the organization entirely, I'm a betting man and my money is surely on Polian. I wanted Whaley gone and it looks like JO might be the next lifer that is removed from a position of power..all of this is an improvement in my eyes. Some of it is simply that it couldn't be worse, they needed to shake things up. In short nothing was working and there was no long term plan in place to win at a high level. The Pegula's took out the order of operations manual and pressed the reset button, even if they read the manual backwards (which I believe they did), it's still a step in the right direction and something to be excited about. I have wanted player accountability, McDinner brings that amongst a bunch of other traits that lead me to believe he has a chance at success. Let's goooo!
  3. I bet the Rangers last night and still enjoyed watching the Sens take my money. They were like a bunch of kids out there enjoying the moment. Once again the NHL playoffs is hands down the best postseason in all of sports. Hockey plays so well in sudden death and must win situations. Good luck next round Sens fans.
  4. Frame this one and put it on the wall. Perfectly said.
  5. I'm excited for the future, it's something different that's for sure. If Jimmy O needs helping packing up his **** let me know, I will be available immediately after I'm done boxing up Whaley's stuff.
  6. Vague speculation at its finest. Mahomes will be a superstar or bust? Peterman might be a journeyman backup, similar to Charlie Whitehurst? Sorry needed to meet my clipboard Jesus requirements for 17'
  7. This was the only possible decision. If they did anything but hire Beane I would have been disappointed.
  8. Sounds like another reason not to draft a QB high.
  9. Didn't I cover that in my post? I have much more faith in Clay to produce than I do a rookie RT or a WR. They are penciled in at starter by default from lack of competition. The same could be said for Poyer.
  10. I would have much rather been with that crew than Brady's band of boy toys.
  11. Dang, accidentally deleted my last post. Anything could happen, that's correct. I do think it is best that they are allowed to sink/swim together. Nightmare scenario would be Kim/Terry finding a GM who steals their hearts and they push him on McD. McD has had the reigns for to long now, let him run with it. Hope for the best.
  12. If they allow McD to hire Beane or another guy of his choice they will be unified against any outside voices, it's the best case scenario. That should eliminate some of the Pegula's dealings and also limit any remaining influence that Russ may or may not have. Allowing McD to pick his guy is the most important part of this entire process! Don't screw it up!
  13. Why? Have you seen enough of him? Or do you believe in Poyer? I haven't watched much of Poyer yet I'm still stuck on his wife's Instagram pics
  14. Preds have as good a chance as anyone. They really did well with that Suban trade. I wouldn't mind seeing them win but I have longer odds money on Ducks.
  15. Don't remind me! Hoping they bounce back but I think Washington realized what they need to do.
  16. The Sens are the least talented team remaining but they have some big balls. I expect a big Rangers win tomorrow then an insane game 7 Thursday. I'm all in on the NYR for tomorrow's game though, I'm going to give 2.5 goals if the line is right. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Sens win game 7 though.
  17. I'm not going to get caught up in the middle of the endless TT debates but this has gone full Looney Tunes at this point. Since when is referencing a friend/agent/OBD worker so casually mentioned and then used as stone cold proof? This is the 3rd instance in the past week of a "friend" telling us what we need to know. Hmm... Saying something that is off the mark is common place, saying something off the mark then using a reference to improve the standing of that remark is sloppy unless we know who it is and what was said. COMMONMAN.
  18. Two game 7's Weds. Going to be nuts. I'm debating using a vacation day for Thurs.
  19. RT? WR2, WR3? I think those three positions are much weaker than a TE position that is headlined by Clay. Sure they drafted guys at RT and WR but Clay (if healthy) is leaps and bounds above rookies who are going to be expected to produce.
  20. The Taylor situation is a lot simpler for me than some of you are making. Until he can do something/anything presnap and routinely run a two minute offense the team should always be looking for his replacement. Sure, he does some nice things, protects the ball, he is highly likeable and entertaining BUT if he is playing with blinders on that is just not good enough. I'm hopeful the new coaching staff takes a different approach with TT and he makes some strides towards becoming a more complete QB. In my opinion having a QB that offers nothing presnap and who is unable to run a two minute offense is a fatal flaw.
  21. That's fair. Also the reason why I want him to pick the GM, no turning back now. If he is the guy that they believe he is then let him run with it!
  22. Boston is worth a look, the safety position has to be a big concern. That offense will be interesting next year with the additions of Samuel and McCaffery.
  23. What about your crusade? Everything OBD does is great until it goes sour then you slither off and find ground somewhere else. Inbetween doing that your badgering new posters who are discussing their takes and providing reasons for them. Why? Do you suppose you're a bigger fan because of the endless optimism? You contradict yourself continuously while doing this. Nice soft let down on Whaley in the other thread. "To much back fighting" that's the end result for you? Is that being a productive member of the community? From one of Whaley's biggest defenders and that's what you offer up? What does JFH want at GM? Did you say football guys who understand football? So let me guess...who ever they pick is perfect! I don't think they are interviewing baseball guys! Sheesh. Be a little more tolerable of opinions that run contrary to yours and stop waving that flag of blind optimism. Perhaps, burn it. So you won't be so tempted to look foolish.
