Bleh. Fair enough. The news definitely lowered my excitement for Sunday. I have no illusions that Nate can be serviceable. Reps for Allen would take priority over everything else if they had any interest in starting him. They brought Allen along at a snail’s pace and when he accelerated it with his own play McD and Daboll threw a bucket of water on him against Cinci. I hope I’m wrong on Nate P, it’s going to be a long week for me hearing all these Pats fans. The reign of Allen can’t begin soon enough!

It’s crap. The kid isn’t built for the NFL. The process has a few glaring fault lines but everyone walks right over them while talking about last year and the playoffs. Why split the reps 3 ways for such an extended period of time? Why not let Allen have more first team reps so he could see the speed of the game?When they put him out there for the Bengals game, why did they play musical chairs with the oline in front of him? Was McD part of the contract negotiations going on for the Cinci Dlins? The answer is no, so what the hell was he doing. If Peterman was starting game 1 why did they waste valuable snaps on AJM and sit Allen for the entire 4th game? One could easily argue that Allen would have learned more in that one game than he will sitting behind Nate.

I hope he gets lost on his way to Baltimore.

I’d love to hear the reasoning for the decision and the play calling but lucky enough he didn’t get a concussion on that play. I give McD the benefit of doubt but I don’t see any scenario where the game 3 situation looks good on him.

You’re putting stock in preseason stats. Then when he runs face first into a brick wall you can act surprised. He doesn’t have enough arm talent to do anything besides mop up duty.

I still don’t understand why he would mix and match the oline the first time Allen got time with the 1s. It’s bad coaching or some nutty ass trial by fire, hope you fail so I can start Nate again and prove I wasn’t a fool last year.
