On the day that the Phillies trade for Realmuto we bring back Mesoraco on a minor league deal. I'm not complaining about either move, but the timing is humorous.

Jets released C - Spencer Long

What do I think? The offseason is always way too long and starts way too early for us. -
I did not watch the video. And I am not prone to this type of statement. You all now have 11 months to call me out: Post of the year!
-
I look forward to this every year. Every time we see Blakeman ref a game me and my kids look at each other and say "what's with all the floor bags?"

Truth: Parcells never won a Super Bowl without Belichick Truth: Belichick never won a Super Bowl without Brady Speculation: good coaches need good assistants and good QBs to succeed. Parcells coaching tree includes SB winners Belichick and Payton. Not sure if either has spawned a SB winner. Sooooo....was Parcells all Belichick? No, he was not. Did he benefit greatly from the evil genius? Yes, parttiuclarly against us. And for the record, if you're gonna ask the question shouldn't you at least spell the mans name correctly?

How much money did you spend on Super Bowl pools?
SinceThe70s replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I won exactly $0 dollars. Funny part was I was siting on around $2500 if the Pats had turned 10-3 into 17-3. I was caught between rooting for a garbage time TD that would win me money and a chance for the Rams to take the game to OT and beat the evil Patriots. Story of my life - neither happened. -
Hate to admit it, but it is what it is. Edelman was the best player on the field, Pats were the better team. Props to Wade and his crew. Holding the Pats to 13 and losing is a bitter pill to swallow. The Rams offense was pitiful. Goff looked like rookie Goff.

Non-call affected Super Bowl too
SinceThe70s replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Am I the only one amazed that neither coach threw a challenge flag? Patriots probably could've got a completion overturned but the Rams rushed to the line and snapped the ball. Only call that bothered me was when NRC tackled the receiver behind the line of scrimmage. Not even sure what the call was for. Looked like a great football play to me. -
2019 HOF Class announced/NFL Honors ceremony
SinceThe70s replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wasn't saying they would move the game to Saturday, I'd be shocked if they moved it off Sunday any time soon. But if hypothetically they decided to move the game to Saturday I'd be surprised if the Hall Of Fame announcements would stand in the way. And that's because it's never been on my radar screen. Perhaps its far more popular than I'm aware of. -
Outstanding. I came across this band/song from the Repo Man movie and soundtrack, both of which are phenomenal:

2019 HOF Class announced/NFL Honors ceremony

Thanks, I had no idea. I wonder what kind of ratings it gets, I've been oblivious to it. For that reason I'm skeptical that moving it to Friday would be an obstacle to make room for a Saturday SB....plenty of reasons that won't happen, I just never considered this one.. -

Really? Maybe I'm in the minority but Saturday night before the SB is a non-event to me. I look forward to finding out who makes the Hall but I don't think I've ever seen the announcements. Is it televised? Not trying to be a jerk, just asking and genuinely surprised at your comment. -
How much money did you spend on Super Bowl pools?
SinceThe70s replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I once charted all the final scores of Super Bowls. For the most part it's what you'd expect. 0, 7 and 3 were the most prevalent. What was interesting (but not surprising in hindsight) is that for the losing team 0, 3 and 7 are really common but the distribution for the winning team isn't nearly as skewed because they tend to score more points and get off the common numbers. As for me, I'm in for $100. I split a $100 box with a friend, I have 4 $10 boxes in two other pools and I have $10 on a prop bet pool that I run. -
There’s just so much going on in this story

Friendly suggestion: decaf might be something to consider. -
That was outstanding. Thanks.

I have no problem when an artist can put a different spin on a classic and people like it. But "once belonged to Aerosmith." is disrespectful to any original artist who had their music covered.

What snacks and food are you doing for the Game?
SinceThe70s replied to mead107's topic in Off the Wall Archives
That's been my MO the past few years. Wifey will be in the "front room" watching something that won't register on the Nielsen ratings. She'll keep up on who's winning the office pools and pop in on me and the boys from time to time. Funny story: the year of the Malcom Butler end zone pick me and my friend had split a box and were in line for around $4000 if the Seahawks scored and hit the PAT. I had seen the payoff as a very real possibility at half time and was a bit bummed at how it turned out. When I checked the other office pools 10 minutes later I saw that wifey had hit for $250. Had to wake her up to inform her. Food will be good on Sunday, but nothing extraordinary. Wings (sorry folks, Thai Chili, not Buffalo), maybe sliders, maybe chili, gotta have some sort of shellfish, there will be chips, there will be dip,... -
How Does a Bills Loss Affect Your Life?
SinceThe70s replied to Billsfanatic8989's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The day I adopt this mentality is the day I stop caring. On Sunday nights my mood is pretty good when we win and dampened when we lose. Both moods linger into the week until the next game. But neither affects my life in a way that really matters. -

WSJ studies announcer Romo’s play prediction %
SinceThe70s replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't get past his voice and his delivery to listen to what he has to say. Romo's over-exuberance grates on me. One of the first times I heard him was a Broncos game. 4th and goal "AND HERE COMES MILLER!!". Besides that he's a great listen, especially when he was calling out Brady's next plays. -

What I suggested was the type of circumstance that could cause the commissioner to invoke the rule that allows him to overturn the result of a game - not the likelihood of the circumstance. I agree that the likelihood of a payoff being uncovered would be exceedingly low. As would any scenario that could be used by the commissioner to overturn the result of a game. But IMO the rule is there for just that reason - for a remarkably unlikely and unfair scenario that determined the outcome of a game. Refs blowing a call doesn't fit the bill.
